Very Merry- Flaky Friends

Hi Stampers!
I created this card for The Paper Players PP23 Snowman Challenge (see http://www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ ) and the sketch challenge SSC176 from Stamping 411 with the Operators (see http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/ ).   Both of their Design Teams have wonderful samples and all of the entries are so inspiring as well.

I did not have a current Stampin’ Up! snowman stamp so I chose one of my favorite snowmen images from the retired set Flaky Friends.  I decided to create a card using colors that may not be considered a normal color palette for snowmen, but I had fun playing:-)

I first stamped the image on Whisper White with Basic Black Classic Ink and colored the image with the watercolor technique using the Blender Pen and the various Classic Ink Pads.

After watercoloring, I distressed the image with Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink using Sponge Daubers and I also “spritzed” the card using a Soft Suede Marker and the Color Spritzer Tool.

I mounted the focal image onto Whisper White and again on Rich Razzleberry.  I found a previous embossed piece of Crumb Cake and after layering the ribbon, added a few snowflakes with rhinestones.

After mounting all of the elements, I sprayed the entire card with Frost White Shimmer Paint spray.   Since the snowflakes seemed to compete with the bow (and made the card looked too busy), I decided to modify the sketch slightly and did not add the bow.

Stamp Sets:  Short & Sweet, Flaky Friends (retired)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Basic Black, Crushed Concord, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Peach Parfait, Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede
Accessories: Big Shot, Finial Press EF, 5/8” White Satin Ribbon, Rhinestones, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Snowflake and Curly Label Punch, Sponge Daubers, Color Spritzer Tool, Soft Suede SU! Marker

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you enjoy this card!

Hi Julie!
This is really a neat card. I like the Razzleberry Sponging on the sides and of course the embossing is always a nice touch!!
Hugs!
