With Gratitude

Hi Stampers!
Earlier this evening, I meant to create a card for this week's ColourQ Challenge CQC58 (see http://colourq.blogspot.com).

This challenge ends today at 12:00 noon CST, so even though it is extremely late here on the East Coast, I decided to stay up to create one more card.  If you have a chance, check out their blog and all of the great Design Team samples as well as all of the gorgeous entries.

This card was fairly simple in technique- it incorporates a few layers of emboss resist and does not have a lot of layers so I would define this as a CAS (Clean and Simple) card.  Also, if you do not own the Big Shot yet, I did not use an Embossing Folder:-)  For those of you who own one, you know how hard that was for me!

First stamp the initial larger leaf stamp from French Foliage using Versamark ink on a prepared piece of Whisper White (de-static with the Embossing Buddy to prepare before stamping).  Heat emboss with Clear EP and sponge Crumb Cake, So Saffon and Always Artichoke around the images and in the center of the cardstock.

Set the ink with the Heat Gun, de-static with the Embossy Buddy and stamp the medium leaf in Versamark and heat emboss with Clear EP.  Sponge more of the Always Artichoke ink and add Cajun Craze.

Repeat the same steps above using the small leaf and adding Early Espresso ink.  Gently wipe off the embossed area with a paper towel.

Add the 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon and layer onto Whisper White, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.

Stamp the sentiment from Day of Gratitude with Always Artichoke and use a SU! Cajun Craze and Early Espresso to highlight the word Gratitude and Thanksgivings.

Stamp Sets:  French Foliage, Day of Gratitude
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso
Ink: Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, So Saffron
Accessories: Embossing Buddy, Clear EP, Heat Gun, Large Oval Punch, 5/8” Early Espresso Ribbon

Thanks again for visiting- have a great week!

Julie, This is gorgeous! I know how hard you had to work not to use the embossing foldings, I am right there with you, but wasn't it worth it to spend the time embossing! Great Use of the colors and I love your design! thanks for playing each week with us on the ColourQ Challenge Blog!
