With Sympathy- French Foliage

Hi Again Stampers!

I created this card using the Stamping 411 with the Operators Sketch Challenge SSC177 (see http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/ ).
I decided to use the same colors as in the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC124 Challenge (see previous post for details).

This sketch was a fairly quick layout and I love the Design Team’s samples!

To create this card:

Using the French Script background stamp from French Foliage with Crumb Cake Classic Ink, repeatedly stamp the image on a piece of the lined Newsprint Designer Paper.  De-static the card stock with the Embossing Buddy, stamp the medium leaf image in Versamark, then heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.  Using a Sponge Dauber, apply Crumb Cake ink over the leaf and around the edges.  Once this is applied to your satisfaction, then apply Basic Black over the leaf and distress the edges.

Layer this piece onto Very Vanilla and then on Basic Black.

Using an embossed piece of Very Vanilla with the Finial Press EF, flip the piece over and sponged the cardstock with Crumb Cake to allow the de-bossed areas to be highlighted.  Punch the edges with the Eyelet Trim Border Punch and cut the piece in half.

Emboss a piece of Basic Black with the Finial Press EF, adhere the sponged pieces leaving an area for the ribbon to overlap.  Adhere a piece of 1 ¼” Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Stamp the sentiment using Basic Black onto Very Vanilla and punch out with the Modern Label Punch.  Layer this onto a Basic Black piece also punched out with the Modern Label Punch.

Adhere the sentiment at the top of the ribbon and layer the focal image over the sentiment and ribbon.  Add the pearls to finish the card.

Stamp Sets:  Artistic Etchings, French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Modern Label Punch, Embossing Buddy, Clear EP, Heat Gun, 1 ¼” Black Striped Grosgrain Striped Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by and all of your encouragement!

Very cool technique. Kind of the reverse of the way I've done it before. Have to try that. Love the card.

Such a beautiful card, Julie. I don't think to use these colours for a sympathy card, but I LOVE the look; thank you for the inspiration :)
