PP53 Happy Anniversary

Hi Stampers!

I love this week’s PP53 Sketch Challenge at The Paper Players and decided to try sewing on my card for the first time (the stitch length was a bit too short on this one but I will definitely use the sewing machine again).

Again, if you have a chance to visit
ThePaper Player’s, this week’s entries are so innovative and inspiring!

To create this card:

Cut three strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) 1 ½” x 3 ¾” (I used some of my SU! retired paper- not sure of the name since I removed the paper from the packages and cut the sheets into 6x6 for card making).

Using the Scallop Trim Border Punch, punch two strips from River Rock cardstock and attach to the two top strips.  Attach the three strips to a piece of Always Artichoke and sew around the edges.

Distress the edges with The Distressing Tool, emboss the panel with the Big Shot/Finial Press EF and lightly sponge with Crumb Cake ink.

Emboss a panel of Bashful Blue with the Big Shot/Finial Press EF and lightly sponge with Crumb Cake ink.  Mount the DSP panel onto the Bashful Blue panel and the Always Artichoke card front.

Close-up of Shimmer Paint
Emboss a piece of So Saffron with the Square Lattice EF.  Run through the Crimper Tool a few times and crumple by hand to soften the cardstock layers.  Gently pull the cardstock apart to reveal four flower shapes.  Punch a hole with the 5/16” Handheld Punch and insert an Antique Brad.  Fluff the petals and attach to the card front with glue dots.

Stamp the sentiment with Always Artichoke onto River Rock and punch out with the Word Window punch and layer onto Always Artichoke.  Lightly spray the entire card front with Frost White Shimmer Paint spray and the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
 Ink: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke
Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, retired DSP
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice and Finial Press EF,  Punches- Scallop Trim Border, Word Window, Modern Label, XL Fancy Flower and 5/16” Handheld, Distressing Tool, Crimper Tool, Sponge Daubers, Frost White Shimmer Paint Spray

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you enjoy your 4th of July weekend!
