Dog Days of Summer- Virtual Stamp Night #1 :-)

Hi Stampers!

I have never been able to participate before and decided that I would give it a try!!  One rule that I was concerned about at first is the 45 minute time limit per card, but I found that that time limit was perfect and I loved it!!  Gave me a boundary that allowed me to make all of these cards in one evening- more than I have ever created in one night before!!

If you can find the time, here are the details- we would love to have you join in to play (creations can be posted thru Monday the 10th).

Here is my card for the first challenge- JUN13VSNLee- A Case of LuvLee’s card and I decided to case this card of hers .  Lee has a fantastic gallery and since we only have a 45 minute time frame to make each card, I was able to utilize an image I already had from My Digital Studio.

To create this card:

Use Stampin’ Write markers, Shimmer Paint and Smooch™ Moonlight Pearlized Ink to color the butterfly image.

Add the embossed layers, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Pearls and sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Thoughts and Prayers (sentiment), Swallowtail MDS

Ink:  Printer Ink- Black, Basic Gray Classic Ink, Stampin’ Write Markers- So Saffron, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Basic Gray

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, So Saffron and Pacific Point Designer Series Paper

Accessories:  Big Shot™,  Lacy BrocadeTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, 1” Square Punch (for banner points), Frost White Shimmer Paint, Smooth™ Moonlight Pearlized Accent Ink, Pearls, 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon

The next challenge is JUNVSN13A Summer Song based on a song by Nat King Cole- Those Lazy Crazy Days of Summer  (video link) and I chose to use a retired stamp sets, Seaside Sketches, Stippled Shells and the sentiment from the retired Hostess set, Summer Afternoon.

Add a bit of embossing, marker spritzing and a piece of Designer Paper to finish off the card!

Stamp Sets:  Seaside Sketches, Stippled Shells, Summer Afternoon

Ink: Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Stampin’ Write Markers- Baja Breeze, Brocade Blue, Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Blush Blossom, Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Background Paper- retired Gingham

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Fancy FanTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Color Spritzer Tool, Pearls, Distressing Tool

The next challenge is JUNVSN13B Summer Toys- a card featuring something that you enjoyed doing during the summer and for me it was sketching – everywhere we went, I would take my sketch pad :-)

The next challenge is JUN13VSNC Summer Splash and the challenge is to add splashes of ink, paint or shimmer paint to your card.

I decided to use a masking/ spritzing technique with the Color Spritzer Tool, markers and added Shimmer Paint mixed with 70% rubbing alcohol to move the color around and of course, add shimmer :-)

Stamp Sets:  Stipple Shells, Thoughts and Prayers

Ink: Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write Markers- Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Pink Pirouette
