Vintage Thinking of You- Flowers in the Subway :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card using the new Soho Subway Designer Series Paper(DSP) and thought that it would pair well with one of my new favorite sets, Flower Shop.   The colors of the DSP seemed to work well with a vintage style card (one of the easier styles for me to design).

I decided to use this week's sketch #12  from a new challenge site for me, Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge - love sketch challenges and if you have a chance, check them out!!

To create this card:

Stamp the flowers and butterfly using Early Espresso Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and watercolor using the AquaPainter™ with ink from the Crisp Cantaloupe and Blushing Bride Classic Ink.

Carefully cut out the flowers and roll the blossoms upward a bit- add the Antique Brad to the center of the flowers.   Use the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterfly and pinch the wings upward as well.

Use the Big Shot™  and the large Chalk Talk Framelit™ to cut a label from Early Espresso cardstock and the Soho Subway DSP for the label portion of the card.  Cut the Early Espresso label in half vertically and layer behind the DSP allowing the cardstock to create a frame and add the 5/8” Triple Satin Ribbon Bow.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White and sponge additional Crumb Cake Classic Ink over the embossed areas.   Distress the edges by hand and layer onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock .

Add the corresponding piece of Soho Subway DSP at the bottom of the background panel, add Tea Lace Paper Doily (cut in half) along with the 5/8” Satin Ribbon to cover the cut edges of the cardstock/DSP.

Mount the tag to the background layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals®, add the sentiment banner along with the flowers and butterfly.     Adhere the Pearls to finish off the butterfly body and the corners of the card.

Stamp Sets: Flower Shop, Papillon Potpourri, Wetlands

Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Soho Subway DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™,  Chalk Talk Framelits™,  Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Elegant Butterfly Punch, 1” Square Punch (for banner points), Distressing Tool, AquaPainter™, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Sponge Daubers, Antique Brad, Pearls, 5/8” Satin Ribbon

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a marvelous Monday!!

So much dimension and detail on this card! Wow. I think tilting your sentiment panel was the right choice amongst all the other distressed and vintage elements. Very lovely; thanks for linking up with Atlantic Hearts!
