CCMC313 World of Dreams Birthday Sketch

Hi Stampers!

I had a chance to work in my craft room today and wanted to create a card using the CCMC313 Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge and decided to create a monochromatic Clean and Simple (CAS) card.

I hope you will find the time to visit their site to see the gorgeous Design Team cards as well as a terrific gallery of entries!

To create this card:

Ink the background stamp, Dictionary using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Adhere a piece of Back to Black Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Basic Black and add the triangular part of the sketch using a coordinating piece of Back to Black DSP.
Add this panel to the Dictionary stamped background, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black, trim and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Stamp the image from World of Dreams using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, punch out using the 2 ½” Circle Punch and mount onto a Basic Black cardstock circle (also punched from the 2 ½” Circle Punch, split into two and spread to allow just a part of the black to show).

Punch the sentiment out using the Large Oval (I had this sentiment previously printed from My Digital Studio (MDS)) and mount onto another oval punched from Basic Black cardstock using the Large Oval Punch.   Add the sentiment to the triangular area of the sketch.

Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: World of Dreams, Dictionary, Hugs and Wishes (MDS version)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Printer Ink- Black

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Back to Black DSP

Accessories: Punches- 2 ½” Circle, Large Oval

Birthday Wishes For LeAnne- A Color, Technique and Sketch Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create another card using one of my favorite stamp sets, An Open Heart and decided to incorporate the C489 Splitcoaststampers' Color Challenge (Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Calypso Coral) along with the FM170 Friday Mashup! DelftTile Background and Sketch (modified the sketch a bit) and also a birthday cardfor the #119 blog hop at Merry Monday for LeAnne  (Happy Birthday LeAnne!!).

If you have not had a chance to do, I hope that you will take a moment to visit all of the challenge sites- so many wonderful Design Teams samples and entries!

To create this card:

Use the Simply Scoring Tool™ to score lines on a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 1” increments to create the tile background.

Using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink stamp the stem image onto Whisper White cardstock, mask and repeatedly stamp the image again, mask and stamp once more.

Color the floral stem image using the Stampin’ Write markers- Pool Party and Bermuda Bay for the leaves and Calypso Coral for the berries and blossoms.

Use the medium Calyso Coral Blendabilities™ marker to add shadows on the blossoms and the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker to add shadows to the image.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Crumb Cake Classic Ink to sponge over the entire image and allow the “grout” lines to show :-)   Add additional shadows with Soft Suede Classic Ink  and use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker to add more distressing.

Trim the panel and adhere to a piece of Pool Party cardstock, trim again and add to the Calypso Coral cardstock layer.

Add the embossed lace panel- I had this piece in my scraps :-)   It had been previously cut with the Big Shot™ along with the Large Scallop Edgelit™ and embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (that had been inked with Crumb Cake Classic Ink prior to embossing the Whisper White cardstock).

Sponge additional Crumb Cake Classic Ink onto the Calypso Coral cardstock at the bottom of the card and use the Color Spritzer Tool with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker.

Add the 5/8” Satin Ribbon bow (from my stash)  to cover the seam of the lace embossed piece.

I also had a pre-printed sentiment in my stash (using My Digital Studio onto Whisper White cardstock)- sponge with Crumb Cake Classic Ink , punch out using the Large Scallop Punch and layered onto a Pool Party cardstock oval punched with the Large Oval Punch as well.

Layer the panel onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock , trim and mount onto a Whisper White card base.   Sponge Crumb Cake Classic Ink to “antique” the edges of the card and age the Whisper White card base.

Stamp the Carolina Wren image onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and color using the Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar Stampin’ Write markers and carefully cut out by hand.

Cut a 2” Circle from Whisper White cardstock and create a horizon line using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker.  Mask the line and repeatedly stamp the leaf image from World of Dreams using Pool Party Classic Ink, ink the same image using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and stamp a few leaves with the Bermuda Bay.

Color the “ground” area with the Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar Stampin’ Write marker and Light Crumb Cake Blendabilities™ marker.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Crumb Cake Classic Ink to distress the paper and add the spritzing using the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write marker along with the Color Spritzer Tool.

Punch out a 2” Circle from Pool Party and Calypso Coral cardstock, split the circles in half horizontally and adhere behind the stamped landscape image.

Add the fussy cut wren to the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere to the layered circle.

Stamp Sets: An Open Heart, World of Dreams, Hugs and Wishes (MDS version)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Stampin’ Write Markers- Basic Black, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Sahara Sand; Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake Collections

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Pool Party

Accessories: Big Shot™, Large Scallop Edgelit™, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool,  Punches- Large Oval, 2” Circle; Simply Scored™ Tool,  5/8” Satin Ribbon (from our stash)

I hope that you will check out the rest of the Design Team projects and share with us your "favorite" new toy using your Stampin’ Up! Only creations!

To create this card:
Ink the images from Life in the Forest and Choose Happiness using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Hand-cut (“fussy cut”) each image (except for the trees) and trim around the trees to create a rectangle for the parts of the sketch.
On the tree image rectangles, sketch a grass line using the  Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker and color the sky using the light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker and the grass using the light Old Olive Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker.
Trim around the sentiment and color using the light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker.

PP206 Mr. Moose is Thinking of You :-)

Hi Stampers!

I love this week's  PP206 Sketch atThe Paper Players and decided to create a masculine card using the Walk in the Wild stamp set ( I have not had Mr. Moose out in a while :-))

I hope you will have a chance to visit The Paper Players site and check out all of the wonderful Design Team samples!!

To create this card:

With the Big Shot™ and the Ovals Collection Framelits™, cut out an oval from Whisper White cardstock as well as one the same size from Early Espresso.

Ink the moose stamp using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto the Whisper White oval cut in the above step.

Color the body of the moose with the Stampin’ Write Crumb Cake marker and follow with the Crumb Cake Blendabilities™ Collection.   Color the grass with the Old Olive Blendabilities™ Collection and the sky with the light Night of Navy Blendabilities™ marker.  *** FYI-  I also re-touched up the moose using a fine tip black gel pen once I finished all of the coloring noted above ***

Lightly sponge the image with a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake Classic Ink.   Apply additional distressing using the Color Spritzer Tool with the Stampin’ Write Early Espresso marker.

Mount a piece of Park Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock and adhere to the Early Espresso card base.

Mount a piece of retired Venetian Romance DSP onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock.    Add this panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Ink the sentiment from the retired set, Kind and Caring Thoughts (I love the font on this set) and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.   Use the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points and adhere to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock (also using the Hexagon Punch to create the points).

Create two banners using Park Lane DSP mounted onto Early Espresso cardstock (as described above).

Lightly sponge Crumb Cake Classic Ink over all three banners and add the banners to the card front per the sketch.

Create the diagonal panel over the focal image using scraps of cardstock and DSP- weave through a retired Antique Copper Hodgepodge Hardware ribbon slide and hand cut the curves to match the oval frame.

Use the retired Photo Corner Punch to create a small corner from Old Olive cardstock and adhere in the lower right hand corner, adding an Early Espresso Candy Dot™ to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Walk in the Wild, Kind and Caring Thoughts (retired)

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Stampin’ Blendabilities™- Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Night of Navy Collections, Stampin’ Write Marker- Crumb Cake

Enjoy The Adventure Ahead- Two Challenges in One!

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is another card that I created this weekend using the HSSC190 Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch along with the CQC251 ColourQ Challenge.

I thought this would be a fun card for someone embarking on a cruise or a long, deserved vacation :-)

Again, if you have not visited either of the sites above, both sites have excellent Design Teams as well as other samples- great ideas from all!!

To create this card:

Use the 1 3/8” Circle Punch to punch out a circle from a piece of scrap paper and mask the area on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and add another mask at the bottom for the horizon.

Use a Sponge Dauber with Pretty in Pink to add a bit of pink to the sky, then follow with Calyspo Coral, Melon Mambo and finally add Concord Crush.    Remove the circle mask and add a bit of Pretty In Pink, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral to the sun/moon.

Repeat the colors in the water area leaving a light for the reflection of the sun/moon.  Use an AquaPainter™ to soften and blend the colors.

Ink the ship image from Traveler using Concord Crush Classic Ink and stamp onto the sponged background.  Use a Chalk Marker to lighten areas of the ship that need highlighting and darken areas with a Stampin’ Write Concord Crush marker.

Use the Sponge Dauber with Concord Crush to add a shadow for the ship and the Chalk Marker for highlights on the water.  Trim and mount onto a piece of Concord Crush cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock and mount onto a piece of Concord Crush cardstock (creating the banner points using the Hexagon Punch).

Create the second banner in the same manner (using retired Pretty in Pink Designer Series Paper) and adhere both banners to the top of the sponged background panel.

Ink the World Map image using Concord Crush Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.   Using a Sponge Dauber, add Melon Mambo and Concord Crush Classic Ink, trim and mount onto a Concord Crush cardstock panel, trimming again and adhere onto the Pretty in Pink card base.

Stamp the postage stamp images using Concord Crush Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Sponge Pretty In Pink along with Calypso Coral ink over the images and cut out by hand (you could use the 1” Square Punch but it will cut part of the stamped image).   Mount each of the postage stamp images onto squares punched from Concord Crush cardstock using the Postage Stamp Punch.

Adhere the focal image to the card front and add the “postage stamps” using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Traveler, Postage Due, World Map, Life’s An Adventure (2014-2015 Hostess Set)
Ink: Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, retired Pretty In Pink and Concord Crush, Chalk Marker

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, retired Concord Crush and Pretty In Pink

Accessories: AquaPainter™,  Punches- Hexagon (for the banner points), Postage Stamp; Sponge Daubers, scrap paper for masking

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a relaxing Sunday- God Bless!!

Trim the stamped image to a 1 7/8” width and use the Scalloped Top Tag Punch to punch out the tag at the top and the Project Life® Corner Punch to punch the corners at the bottom of the tag.

Cut a 2” piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and punch the top with the Scalloped Top Tag Punch to punch out the tag at the top and the Project Life® Corner Punch to punch the corners and layer behind the stamped image.

Cut a 5.5” x 5.5” Card Base from Whisper White cardstock and cover with Coastal Cabana cardstock and add a layer of Polka Dot Designer Series Paper (DSP)- from my stash.

Emboss a piece of Daffodil Delight DSP with the Needlepoint Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and add two strips of Washi Tape.   Mount onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Emboss a piece of Daffodil Delight DSP with the Sizzix Pattern embossing folder and lightly sand the DSP to expose the white core.  Also emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the same pattern embossing folder and layer onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Layer the embossed panels onto the background panel and add the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Create a paper bow using Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Large Oval Punch and strips of Coastal Cabana cardstock (using the Hexagon Punch for the banner points).  Add the bow to the tag using an Antique Brad for the center.

Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and color the heart using the Stampin’ Write Strawberry Slush marker.  Punch out using the Decorative Tag Punch and layer onto another punched image from Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Decorative Tag Punch.

PP205- Another CAS Thinking of You

Hi Again Stampers!!

I think I am starting to feel more comfortable with Clean and Simple (CAS) cards :-)   I do like the fact that I can create them within a few minutes (versus sometimes hours for my vintage/shabby chic cards although I still like to "de-stress"-lol!! :-) )

Here is another very quick card that I created using the PP205 Clean and SimpleMonochromatic Challenge.   It seems that the CAS challenges are plentiful right now- perfect for our busy summer lives :-)

If you have not visited the Paper Players site yet- check out the fabulous Design Team and Guest Designers (plus the great gallery of entries)- wonderful ideas from all!

 To create this CAS  card:

Ink the medallion using Island Indigo Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Lightly sponge Coastal Cabana Classic Ink within the center using a Sponge Dauber.

Ink the floral stamp using Island Indigo Classic Ink and mask a bit of the medallion to stamp the flower within the center, “huff” on the stamp to re-moisten the ink and mask again at the top corner and stamp the image once more.

Stamp the sentiment at the lower corner using Island Indigo Classic Ink and trim the panel to 3 ¾” x 5”.

Using the retired Color Spritzer Tool with the Island Indigo Stampin’ Write marker, add a bit of spritzing to the card front.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Island Indigo cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Stamp the butterflies using Island Indigo Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Adhere the butterflies to the card front (I have been using Hot Glue to adhere embellishments and butterflies lately- had not used my Hot Glue Gun for years and thought, why not???).

Add two Pearls near the sentiment to finish off the card.   Quick and easy!!

Stamp Sets: Papillon Potpourri, Daydream Medallion, Stippled Blossoms, Kind and Caring Thoughts (retired Hostess Set)

Ink: Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Stampin’ Write Island Indigo marker

Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo

Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Pearls, retired Color Spritzer Tool

Thanks again for stopping by- have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Another Christmas In July- A Non-Traditional Color Combo :-)

Hi Stampers!

I am still working on trying to master the Clean and Simple style (as most of you know this is a style that is very difficult for me- I always want to distress or sponge something- lol!! :-)

I thought the CAS Colours and Sketches #83 Challenge would be perfect for a different color combo for Christmas and this is one of my designs for the SplitcoaststampersCCC14 Christmas Card Challenge.

I hope you will have time to check out the both challenge sites for so much inspiration!!

I decided to incorporate My Digital Studio (MDS) with traditional card making techniques and our new Stampin’ Blendabilities™ for this CAS card- I love how the Stampin’ Blendabilities™ work so well with printed MDS images :-)

To create this card:

Open a blank document in My Digital Studio (MDS), position the skate image from Winter Memories and the sentiment from More Merry Messages and print out onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the skate image using the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blendabilities™ Light Marker (for the blades, heel and laces) and Stampin’ Write markers- Mossy Meadow for the holly, Perfect Plum for the berries and Elegant Eggplant for the ribbon.  Add a few highlights to the berries using the Chalk Marker.

Carefully cut out the image and attach using Stampin’  Dimensionals® to a Whisper White cardstock circle punched using the 2 ½” Circle (layered onto another split 2 ½” Circle from Elegant Eggplant cardstock split to reveal a small border).

**** Shhh- here is my secret!  Ideally you could just punch out the image and layer but I accidentally went outside of the lines on the blade image when I was coloring with the Smoky Slate Blendabilities™ marker, so to salvage the image, I decided to fussy-cut.... I would recommend staying within the lines- duh!!  :-) *****
Layer a strip of Elegant Eggplant to the edge of a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, adhere a piece of Perfect Plum Designer Series Paper with a scrap strip of Elegant Eggplant onto the Mossy Meadow layer and add the Whisper White piece onto the top.
Trim the layered panel to 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock and adhere to the Whisper White card base.

Add the skate image circle to the card front along with the sentiment layer (banner points were created using the Hexagon Punch and layer onto a piece of Elegant Eggplant, also punching points using the Hexagon Punch).

Adhere the Perfect Plum button with Natural Linen Thread to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Winter Memories, More Merry Messages  (MDS versions)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Blendabilities™- Smoky Slate Collection (Light marker), Stampin’ Write Markers- Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Chalk Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Mossy Meadow, Perfect Plum DSP (retired Hostess Level I pack)

Accessories: Punches- 2 ½” Circle, Hexagon, Natural Linen Thread, retired Subtles button

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!!
