Ice Cream Happiness

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ Free For All “F4A440 Do Not Pass Go” Challenge (challenge details here and gallery here)!

I decided to create a fun Clean and Simple Mixed Media card using Ice Cream Shoppe along with Bottle Caps Background from Artistic Outpost by Our Daily Bread Designs.

I also incorporated the ColourQ CQC356 Challenge as well as The Paper Players “CAS- Something Sweet” Challenge into the design.

I hope you have a chance to visit us at the Artistic Outpost blog as well as the other challenge galleries – wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies, die cut two rectangles from black cardstock and one from white cardstock – love this stacked set of dies!

Using a soft blue ink pad, directly swipe it onto the center of a piece of white cardstock, swipe the old olive to the left and melon along with blackberry to the right (this is one Direct to Paper (DTP) technique- see the tutorial here at Splitcoaststampers for the written tutorial as well as a great video by Lydia with some other fun DTP ideas).

Once the ink as dried, stamp the AO Bottle Caps Background stamp with archival black ink over the direct to paper panel, cut the panel between the bottle cap images and layer two of the sections onto the center black die cut.

Use a clear glitter pen to apply glitter to the bottle caps (difficult to see in the photo).

Stamp the sentiment and girl image from the AO Ice Cream Shoppe stamp set onto white cardstock using archival black ink, die cut the sentiment with the ODBD Filigree Frames Dies and fussy-cut the girl image.

Layer the fussy-cut girl onto a piece of black cardstock and fussy cut around the stamped image.

Add the looped silver metallic thread to the card front and mount the sentiment along with the girl image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- hugs and have a great weekend, my friends!
