Birthday Blooms with Rose Wonder

Hi Friends!

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!  I had a chance to play around in my stamping studio this weekend and will need to wait to share some of the cards later this week (new releases, etc.),  but wanted to create a quick card using the Simon SaysWednesday “Add Some Shimmer” Challenge along with the Just Add Ink JAI317 "Colour Combo" Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers’ SC25 Sketch Challenge (flipped the sketch and this challenge was in 2005...still a great reference for inspiration).

Not sure why, but I struggle pairing yellows and pinks together but I think the darker Rose Red with the Flirty Flamingo seems to work well with Crushed Curry- don't you?

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenge sites, I hope you will find time to do so- wonderful examples from all!

To create this card:

Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Crushed Curry Classic Ink with the My Favorite Things® (MFT) On the Diagonal Stencil to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Trim the panel, stamp the sentiment from Rose Wonder using ink from the Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad™,  add a few flourishes from Timeless Textures (colored with the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write marker before spritzing and stamping onto the panel), mount onto a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Rose Red card front and adhere the entire panel to the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

Stamp the flower from Birthday Blooms using Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad™ onto Whisper White cardstock, heat set with the Heat Tool and color with Stampin’ Write Markers- Pear Pizzazz for the leaves, Flirty Flamingo and Rose Red for the petals and Crushed Curry for the stamens (use an AquaPainter™ to soften the colors).

Fussy-cut the image and mount onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Add a few sequins to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Birthday Blooms, Timeless Textures, Rose Wonder (all Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums: Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad™, Crushed Curry; Stampin’ Write Markers- Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Rose Red

Paper: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Flirty Flamingo, Rose Red

Accessories: AquaPainter™, MFT On the Diagonal Stencil, Sequins (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and have a great week!

Winnie's Garden- Plant Kindness Gather Love

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend so far!! I had a chance to create another card using Winnie’s Garden (designed by Wynne Gettelfinger) from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS)  along with the Ticket Dies (SNSS).

Since I love participating in online challenges, I decided to incorporate the CQC347 ColourQ Challenge along with the Addicted To Stamps and More #199 CAS Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers’SC597 Sketch Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit any of the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the kneeling girl image from Winnie’s Garden (SNSS) with Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and heat set the ink with the Heat Tool.

Color the stamped image using Stampin’ Write Markers along with an AquaPainter™- Chocolate Chip (jeans), Going Gray (hair, leaves and sandals), Blushing Bride (substituted for Blush Blossom for shirt, flowers, lips) and Peekaboo Peach (substituted for Peach Parfait for skin, flowers).

Die cut the image using the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things® (MFT) Stitched Circle Dies and mount onto another die cut from Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Next create the lower layer (I call this "homemade" designer paper :-)) Ink the larger floral image from Winnie’s Garden with Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink and stamp repeatedly onto Whisper White cardstock (I actually cut the clear stamp image apart so I could fill in with some of the smaller flowers).

Once you are satisfied with the coverage, use the Heat Tool to heat set the ink and color the flowers with the same markers as noted above (using the Chocolate Chip to fill in the background color).

Cut the floral panel on an angle per the sketch and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Trim the background panel, mount onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Peekaboo Peach card front.
Mount the focal image circle using dimensional foam.

Stamp the sentiment using Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink, add the flowers with Going Gray ink (I used the marker to ink the stamp) and lightly color with Going Gray, Peekaboo Peach and Blushing Bride markers.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Ticket Duo Dies to die cut the sentiment and another piece from Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Cut the Chocolate Chip die cut in half, mount behind the sentiment and adhere to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Hi Friends!

Woohoo!!  It’s time for the SUO151 “Favorite New Papers” Challenge!

Add additional texture with the Timeless Textures grid image along with the splatter stamp using Dapper Denim Classic Ink.

Cut the panel with the Project Life® Framelits™, mount onto Dapper Denim cardstock and add Clear Wink of Stella® to the flower petals.

Emboss the piece of Emerald Envy cardstock with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Dapper Denim card front, trim and mount onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base..

How's It Growing?

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you had a great Father’s Day weekend!! I am so thankful that my father is still alive and he had safe travels to his home in Florida.  Although we have not seen each other in a while, I was able to talk with him today on the phone and he is doing as well as possible:-)

Today I am sharing this card on the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps blog today and wanted to share with you here as well.

This Clean and Layered (CAL) card was designed using the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) set Winnie’s Garden (designed by Wynne Gettelfinger) using the Mojo Monday Mojo452 Sketch Challenge (I decided to flip the sketch and it is too late to link to their gallery:-)).

If you have not had a chance to stop by the Sweet ‘n Sassy blog or the Mojo Monday Challenge site, I hope you will find the time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all of my Creative Team Sisters as well as the fabulous Mojo Monday gallery!

To create this card:

Ink the girl image with flowers from Winnie’s Garden (SNSS) with Stampin’ Archival™ Basic Black Ink onto watercolor paper and heat set the ink with the Heat Tool.

Color the stamped image using Stampin’ Write Markers with an AquaPainter™- Dapper Denim (jeans and head scarf), Hello Honey (hair), Blushing Bride with Sweet Sugarplum (tee shirt), Real Red (tulips and lips), Garden Green (leaves),  Rich Razzleberry with Sweet Sugarplum (large flower) and Blushing Bride with Sweet Sugarplum (remaining flowers).

Use the AquaPainter™ with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Markers- Salty Ocean (sky) and Mowed Lawn (grass) to create the landscape.
Die cut the image using the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things® (MFT) Stitched Square Dies and mount onto Dapper Denim cardstock (trimming close to the die cut to create a thin frame).

Repeat the above steps for the sentiment from Winnie's Garden as well.

Use the Big Shot™ with the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock (scrap piece in my stash) along with a piece of retired Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi Designer Series paper mounted onto a piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock.

Layer the embossed DSP onto the Dapper Denim card front and mount onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

Die cut a piece of Home Sweet Home Graphic 45® Designer Paper with the MFT Stitched Circle Die (also die-cutting a piece of Dapper Denim)- layer the two together and adhere to the card front.

Add the Winnie’s Garden focal image panel along with the embossed Dapper Denim strip (per the sketch) and mount the layered sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Life is Better....With Ice Cream :-)

Hi Friends!!

I hope all of you are having a great weekend so far!!  Today it is my turn to highlight a card on the Artistic Outpost blog and I wanted to share this fun Mixed Media card with you here as well :-)

This card was designed using four of the Artistic Outpost 2016 Spring Release stamps sets from Our Daily Bread Designs- Ice Cream Shoppe, Bottle Caps Background, Harvest and Grunge Elements along with a fun watercolor technique for the Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability MIX175 “Watercolor Lifting” Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

If you have not had a chance to visit us at the Artistic Outpost blog yet, I hope you will do so- inspiration is posted several days a week by my DT Sisters and they are all so talented!

To create a card:

Using watercolor paper, apply Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum and Rich Razzleberry- spritz with water and mix the colors.

Dry with the Heat Tool and apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Ink- Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry, dilute with water, dry with the Heat Tool and once dry, repeat the process with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Crayons- Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.

Once the panel is dry, de-static the paper with an Embossing Buddy®, ink the Bottle Caps Background stamp using Versamark™ Ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once the embossing is dry, use a damp paper towel to left the watercolor from the background.

Cut the panel with the Big Shot™ with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Double Stitched Rectangle Die.

Trim a piece of Basic Black cardstock a bit larger than the die cut background, mount onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base and mount the watercolor background panel using dimensional foam.

Ink the images from Harvest and Ice Cream Shoppe along with the Ice Cream Shoppe sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink.

Color the Harvest and Ice Cream Shoppe images with Stampin’ Write Markers- Sweet Sugarplum, Soft Suede, Tip Top Taupe along with Flirty Flamingo using an AquaPaiinter™ to blend the colors and apply Clear Wink of Stella® to the ice cream images.

Use a clear envelope and scribble Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum markers, spritz the ink, cover with another portion of the clear envelope to mix the ink and randomly press portions of the sentiment into the ink.

Ink the splatter stamp from Grunge Elements with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker, stamp onto the sentiment, die cut with ODBD Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Fussy-cut the remaining images, mount the fussy cut images along with the sentiment onto Basic Black cardstock, fussy-cut a thin border around all of the images.

Add a looped piece of Silver Cord to the card front and mount the Ice Cream Shoppe images as well as the sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

I had fun with this Watercolor Lifting Technique and will have to play with this technique again soon :-)

Patriotic Heart and Soul- Trust in the Lord

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous week so far!  This card was designed for the Splitcoaststampers F4A330 “Spring into Action” Challenge (see details here and gallery here as well as the Just Add Ink JAI316 "Just Add Stripes" Challenge along with my second entry for the Paper Players PP299 Color Challenge.

I love patriotic colors this time of year and I decided to create a Slider Card (see the Splitcoaststampers tutorial here) using Our Daily Bread Designs stamps.

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenge sites, I hope you will find time to do so- such inspiration from all!

To create this card:

front view with sliders closed
All of the Our Daily Bread Design (ODBD) images were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers- Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate (for the “white” stripes).

Several ODBD sets were used- Stars & Stripes Heart (large heart on front), Heart and Soul (small heart and medium heart at top of upper slider portion), Old Flag Background (background on lower slider), How Sweet the Sound (sentiment on lower slider), Scripture Collection 3 (sentiment on upper slider) and Ornate Borders Sentiments (sentiment on front of slider).
Sliders partially open

After stamping the images and cutting/ scoring out all of the components of the slider card (per the tutorial), the large and small hearts along with the eyelet heart border were die cut/embossed using Big Shot with the ODBD Ornate Hearts die, the sentiment using the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Die and the corners were rounded with the Envelope Punch Board.

Sliders fully open
The Whisper White background was embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (SU!).

Since this was my first slider card in many years, it was a bit time-consuming for me to assemble and also difficult to photograph (the slider parts look better IRL :-)).

Stamp Sets: Heart and Soul, Stars & Stripes Heart, Ornate Borders Sentiments, How Sweet the Sound, Scripture Collection 3, Old Flag Background (all Our Daily Bread Designs)

Ink/Mediums: Stampin’ Write Markers- Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate

Paper: Whisper White, Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Big Shot™, ODBD Ornate Hearts Dies, ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies, Lucky Stars Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Silver Cord, 1 ¼” Circle Punch, 1 ¼” Square Punch, 5/8” Cherry Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- if you have the time, come play along with us at the Free For All Challenges:-) Hugs and have a great week!

Happy Birthday with Picture Perfect Flowers

Hi Friends!!

I hope all of you are enjoying your week so far!  I wanted to share another Mixed Media card I created last night using the TGIF Challenges! #tgif59 Sketch Challenge and Seize The Birthday "Sunshine" Challenge (you cannot have flowers without sunshine, right?) :-)

I decided to experiment with watercolor using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Markers and the floral and leaf images from Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect stamp set.

If you have not had a chance to check out the challenge sites, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Ink the #2 rose image from Picture Perfect using a Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picked Raspberry Distress Marker and stamp the image onto watercolor paper.

Use an AquaPainter™ to soften the edges, adding more marker directly to the paper to define the petals and ink the #3 image with the Seedless Preserves Distress Marker.

Continue to soften the edges and repeat the steps above for the next two flowers (removing ink from the stamp to avoid overlapping images).

Add the leaves using the Mowed Lawn Distress Marker softening the edges with the AquaPainter™.

Add Salty Ocean Distress Marker
to the Mermaid Lagoon  Distress Crayon (rubbing the crayon on your craft mat and using an AquaPainter™ to add to the water color in the background).

Use a Speedball® Elegant Writer® to add dark shadows and soften with an AquaPainter™ and use Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Black Soot Crayon as needed.

Ink the #3 floral image once more using Seedless Preserves and stamp over the flowers defining the petals.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Square Framelits™ to cut out the image and mount onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Close-up of floral images :-)
Trim a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock larger than the stamped image leaving a space at the bottom (per the sketch), mount onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Ink the border stamp from Timeless Textures using Pink Pirouette Classic Ink and stamp onto the lower part of the Pretty In  Pink frame.

Emboss a piece of Old Olive cardstock using the Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a piece of Pretty In Pink cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Add the entire panel onto the card base created from a piece of Extra Thick Whisper White cardstock.

Add the strips of Pretty In Pink and Rich Razzleberry cardstock to the card front, mount the watercolor focal image using dimensional foam.

Add the Silver Cord loops along with the heat embossed sentiment and add water droplets using the splatter stamp from Timeless Textures (stamped in water) to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Picture Perfect, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Timeless Textures
(all Stampin'Up!)

Ink: Versamark™, Pink Pirouette Classic Ink; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Markers- Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean; Distress Crayons- Mermaid Lagoon, Black Soot; Speedball® Elegant Writer®

Paper: Watercolor, Basic Black, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Pretty In Pink (retired)

Accessories: Big Shot™, Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Square Framelits™, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Silver Cord, retired Hexagon Punch, AquaPainter™

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I had fun with this experiment and will be using Distress Markers for watercolor again soon!  Hugs and I hope you have a blessed week, my friends!
