Happy Birthday Bountiful Basket Gift Set

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!

I had a chance to create a fun Mixed Media birthday card and matching basket using the ODBD stamp set, Seeds of Today, ODBD Bountiful Basket Die, ODBD Happy Birthday Script Die, ODBD Whimsical Wildflower and Plum Pizzazz PaperCollections (all from the January 2017 Our Daily Bread Designs Release) along with the previously released ODBD dies for the ODBDSLC282 Shining the Light Color Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD Blog yet or the other challenge sites yet, I would encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create the card:

1). Trim a piece of patterned paper from the ODBD Whimsical Wildflowers 6x6 Paper Collection, mount onto the white card base.

2). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink and stamp the ODBD Seeds of Today floral stamp with embossing ink first, then stamp into purple distress ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

3). Once the embossing powder has cooled, use a purple colored pencil to color the petals, gold for the flower centers and use a stencil with light yellow ink for the background.

4). Gently wipe the excess ink off with a paper towel and add the white accents with an extra fine point white paint pen.

5). Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of soft yellow cardstock, trim close to the edge.

6). Die cut and emboss a piece of ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies, mount onto a piece of soft yellow cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount a piece of ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper to the edge before adhering to the card front.

7). Add the floral embossed panel.

8). Die cut and emboss three pieces of soft yellow cardstock with the ODBD Happy Birthday Script Die, layer and adhere to the card front.

9). Die cut and create a bow with the ODBD Small Bow Dies from the ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection paper and mount onto the card front.

10). Die cut and emboss the flower using the ODBD Bitty Blossoms Dies, mount onto the bow and add a pearl to finish off the card.

To create the basket:

1). Die cut and emboss two pieces of soft yellow cardstock using the main panel of the ODBD Bountiful Basket Die, die cut and emboss two handles and two of the circles.

2). Die cut and emboss the layering pieces of the ODBD Bountiful Basket Die from the ODBD Whimsical Wildflowers Collection 6x6 Paper, adhere to the basket and handles before assembling the basket.

3). Stamp the sentiment from ODBD Seeds of Today with purple distress ink onto soft yellow cardstock, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Mini Tag Dies.  Add the handles to the basket with brads and insert the tag into the handle.

4). Die cut and emboss the flowers with the ODBD Bitty Blossoms Dies and ODBD Leaves & Branches Dies, mount onto the basket and add pearls to finish off the centers.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and visit- hugs, and I hope you have a fabulous week my friends!

God is Always with You

Hi Friends!

I had a chance to play around with the brand new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) God is For You Stamp Set (designed by Korin Sutherland) this morning  and decided to incorporate the Mojo Monday #481 Sketch Challenge,Splitcoaststampers’ CC619 Color Challenge along with the Tuesday Throwdown#TT327 “Anything Goes” Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to visit us at the SNSS Blog or SNSS FB Page yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- many gorgeous projects posted throughout the month from my “sisters” on the SNSS Creative Team!  Also, I hope you find the time to visit the other challenge sites- fabulous galleries in addition to their wonderful Design Teams as well!

To create this card:

1). Ink the SNSS God is For You Stamp Set sentiment with embossing ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

2). Die cut the sentiment with a stitched square die and watercolor with turquoise and razzleberry ink (using a sponge to deepen the ink color as needed).

3). Emboss a piece of white cardstock with an embossing folder, trim and mount onto turquoise cardstock, trim and mount onto razzleberry cardstock.  Adhere this panel to a white card base.

4). Ink the SNSS Leafy Flourish Background and More ClearStamp Set background stamp with honey ink, apply a bit of turquoise and razzleberry with a sponge dauber, spritz with water and dry with a heat tool.  Die cut the circle and mount onto a piece of razzleberry cardstock (I used a stitched circle die)- add to the card front per the sketch.

5). Die cut a rectangle piece of designer paper, apply a watercolor wash of turquoise and razzleberry ink, mount onto a piece of razzleberry cardstock and stamp the smaller flourish image from the SNSS Leafy Flourish Background and More Clear Stamp Set with razzleberry ink.

6). Using the same smaller flourish image from the SNSS Leafy Flourish Background and More Clear Stamp Set with razzleberry ink, stamp over the sentiment panel from step 2  and gently wipe off any excess ink from the embossed sentiment with a slightly damp paper towel.

7). Mount the layers onto the card front using dimensional foam.

8). Add the die cut flowers and punched leaves to finish off the card.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit and remember that God is For You and is Always with You!   Hugs and God Bless, sweet friends!

Psalm 91:4 Find Refuge Under His Wings

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  This year on of my goals is to set aside some time for Bible Art Journaling and this week I finally had a chance to start!

I created a quick "tip-in" using the January 2017 Our Daily Bread Designs Release Find Refuge Bible Journaling stamp along with the ODBD Tag Trio Dies (for the top portion of the design).

I cannot recall where I had seen this idea originally (possibly Pinterest?) but basically you create your journaling page or project (in this case, the size of a large bookmark) a bit larger in width than you wish the final project to be, score along the side and fold the score over the page in your Bible and adhere with washi tape.

I thought I might try this idea so I can use more Mixed Media techniques (heat embossing, wet on wet watercolor, etc.) and not have to worry about wrinkling, tearing or hiding God’s Word.  I know I can use clear gesso to prep my page but sometimes I want to have more flexibility and think this tip-in idea will work fabulously!

I am also linking this project to the Word Art Wednesday #266-#267 “Anything Goes”Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD Blog or the Word Art Wednesday challenge site yet, I would encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

Close-up to show washi tape on the side
To create this "tip-in" Bible  Journaling project:

1). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink and stamp the ODBD Find Refuge Bible Journaling stamp with embossing ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

2). Once the embossing powder has cooled, apply distress ink with a water brush (I used purples and blues), layering to increase the intensity of the color and direct to paper for some of the areas.  Use a paper towel to gently wipe off the ink from the embossing.

3). Allow your panel to dry, cut to approx. 2 ½” wide, score the one side and die cut just the top portion of the panel with the ODBD Tag Trio Dies.

4). Add the purple satin ribbon with the silver metallic thread through the loop at the top and adhere to your Bible page with washi tape.

This was a very easy project and I loved reflecting on Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (NIV) as I created.

I am looking forward to finding more creative worship time this year and I am so thankful that I can find refuge in Christ, my Savior and how He is so Faithful and True!

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and visit- hugs, and I hope you have a fabulous weekend my friends!

You Can Never Cross The Ocean

Hi Friends!

I wanted to take a moment to share the step by step instructions on how to create the Mixed Media card that I designed for the January 2017Artistic Outpost Release.

This card was created with the brand new Artistic Outpost  (AO) stamp set, The Captain and the new AO Steampunk Gears Dies, AO Vagabond Treasures Collection 6x6 Paper Pad along with the previously released AO Grunge Elements stamp set and ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies (all available from Our Daily Bread Designs).

To create this card:

1). Ink the ship captain image from the AO The Captain stamp set with archival black ink and stamp onto vanilla cardstock, fussy-cut the image and layer onto black cardstock (fussy-cutting close to the stamped edge again) for additional thickness.

2).  Trim the background from the AO Vagabond Treasures Collection 6x6 Paper Pad mount onto vanilla cardstock before adding the knotted hemp twine along the printed banner image (I used hot glue to attach the twine).

3).  Die cut and emboss the different gears from the AO Steampunk Gears Dies from vanilla and dark brown cardstock, sponge with distress ink to age the paper and mount onto the card front with antique brass brads.  Adhere the entire panel onto the dark brown card base.

4). Ink the sentiment from the AO The Captain stamp set with archival black ink and stamp onto vanilla cardstock.  Add the distressing with the compass image from the AO The Captain stamp set and the large splatter stamp from the AO Grunge Elements stamp set using distress inks.

5). Die cut and emboss the sentiment panel using the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and add the gear die cut with a brad before mounting onto the card front with dimensional foam.

6). Mount the fussy-cut captain image with dimensional foam as well to finish off the card.

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a wonderful week, my friends!

Faith In God

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far!  I had a chance to design another card using the January 2017 Our Daily Bread Designs Release His Timing Bible Journaling stamp  along with the ODBD Bitty Blossoms Dies, ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies, ODBD Lavish Layers Dies and ODBD Plum PizzazzCollection 6x6 Paper Pad.

I decided to use black and white with purple for the Paper Players PP327 Color Challenge and will also be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #266-#267 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD Blog yet or the other challenge sites yet, I would encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all of my DT Sister “Bread Sticks” as well as the other galleries!

To create this card:

1). Die cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the largest rectangle and a piece of the ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper with a smaller rectangle using the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies.

2). Layer the larger rectangle die cut onto a piece of black cardstock and mount onto a white card base.  Split the smaller purple rectangle die cut in half and adhere to the card front.

3). Die cut and emboss a piece of black cardstock with the largest frame and a piece of white cardstock with the layering frame from the ODBD Lavish Layers Dies. Layer the two together and add to the card front.

4). Ink the ODBD His Timing Bible Journaling stamp with embossing ink followed by archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Fussy cut the image, mount onto black cardstock (to add a bit of depth), fussy-cut again and mount directly onto the card front.

5). Die cut and emboss the flowers and leaves from white cardstock with the ODBD Bitty Blossoms Dies, mount onto the card front and add pearls to the flower centers to finish off the card.

I love how the ODBD His Timing Bible Journaling stamp set can be used for cards, home décor and scrapbooking in addition to Bible Journaling.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and visit- hugs, and have a fabulous weekend my friends!
