Comfort and Hope Bloom in Your Heart- Clean and Layered (CAL)

Hi Stampers!

I had a fabulous day crafting with one of my best friends and this evening decided to create a card using the Card Concept#17 "Be Inspired" Challenge along with the final STS#27 Seize The Sketch Challenge to create a Clean and Layer (CAL) card.

I hope you will find the time to visit both sites to see the gorgeous Design Team cards as well as a terrific gallery of entries!

So sad that this is the final challenge for Seize The Sketch – I will miss their sketch challenges and wish them all the best!

To create this CAL card:

Ink the large blossom stamp from the retired set, Betsy’s Blossoms using Summer Starfruit Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Cut into squares and mount onto Basic Gray cardstock.

Score a piece of Whisper White cardstock at the top and bottom, trim and stamp the sentiment using Basic Gray Classic Ink.

Mount a second panel of Whisper White cardstock onto the Basic Gray card base and adhere the scored panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Mount the stamped image squares using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the die cut bird to the card front.

Add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Bloom with Hope, Betsy’s Blossoms (retired)

Ink: Basic Gray, Summer Starfruit (retired)

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray

Accessories: Big Shot™, Simply Scored™, Birds and Feather Die Cut (Sweet -n-Sassy), Pearls

Thanks again for visiting- I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

SUO104 CAS Butterfly Friendship

Hi Stampers!

Time for the new SU-Only Challenges SUO104 Clean and SimpleChallenge!!   We are encouraging you to create a new Clean and Simple project (with a lot of white space) using your Stampin’ Up! products!

Clean and Simple is a style that I am constantly trying to "perfect" since I normal go-to style is a shabby/chic with a lot of distressing (so white space tends to be difficult for me- lol!)!

I hope that you will visit us at SUO-Challenges to check out the rest of the Design Team projects and join in on in on the fun with your Stampin’ Up! Only creations :-)

I decided to incorporate the CMCC34 colors from the Colour Me!Challenge (although it is too late to link up to their challenge-still want to give them credit for the inspiration) along with the CTS89 Sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch - again, I hope you will find the time to visit both sites to check out the Design Team samples and galleriesl!

To create this project:
Ink the sunburst image from Kinda Eclectic using Calypso Coral and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Stamp the leave image using Lost Lagoon Classic Ink and the Gorgeous Grunge details using Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink (stamped off before stamping onto the panel).
Trim the panel and use a Sponge Dauber to apply additional Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink over the edges.
Mount the panel onto a Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Stamp the sentiment using Lost Lagoon Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch.
Adhere the sentiment onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock (also creating the banner points with the Hexagon punch) and mount the sentiment onto the stamped background panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Stamp the butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri using Lost Lagoon Classic Ink onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.
Add the butterflies to the card front along with a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Kinda Eclectic, Choose Happiness, Gorgeous Grunge, Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Lost Lagoon
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Lost Lagoon
Accessories:  Elegant Butterfly Punch, Hexagon Punch, Rhinestones, Sponge Dauber

Thanks again for stopping by - I hope you have a chance to join in on our “Clean and Simple” Challenge- have a great week!!

Christmas Blessings- Stamp Etching along with a Sketch and Color Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!

Here is second card that I created for the CC493 Splitcoaststampers' Color Challenge-Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon and Old Olive with the dessert option of “something recycled”- I decided to skip dessert on this card :-)

This is my last week as a Guest Designer for the Splitcoaststampers’ Color Challenge so I hope you will find the time to join in on the fun!  I have had a wonderful time with the ladies on the team and am so honored that they asked me to join them for August :-)

This card incorporates the FMS150 Sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and is also one of my August designs for the Splitcoaststampers’ Christmas Card CCC14 Challenge (this challenge is for your own commitment to stamp Christmas cards all year- I am a bit behind but am catching up- Christmas will be here before you know it)....

To create this Clean and Simple (CAS) card:

Stamp the Christmas Bauble image using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla  cardstock and color the images using Stampin’ Write markers- Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon and Old Olive.

Add the lines in the Lost Lagoon area of the ornament and the leaves using a 1.0 Sakura Pigma Micron™ Pen (this is the “stamp etching” technique highlighted at Splitcoaststampers- see tutorial here).  My etching is a bit more line to line and I did it very quickly (sorry for the woobly lines) but I still think this qualifies :-)

Use a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker to add a few shadows and carefully cut out the image.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Delicate Designs (snowflake border) Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Stamp the sentiment above the embossing using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and trim the panel.

Add the retired Gold Twine to the top of the ornament and mount the ornament to the embossed panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the panel to the Very Vanilla card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere a few Pearls to the center of the ornament to finish off the card.

Quick, easy and not too many layers- just the way I like it for Christmas cards :-)

Stamp Sets: Christmas Bauble, More Merry Messages

Ink:  Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin’ Write markers- Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Sahara Sand;  1.0 Sakura Pigma Micron™ pen

Paper: Very Vanilla

Accessories: Big Shot™, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, retired Gold Twine, Pearls

Oops!!  After creating the card and preparing to link up the challenge sites, I noticed that the FMS site closed at midnight PDT Monday (thought it was on Tuesday at noon- duh!! ) so I could not link to that challenge- good thing, since I noticed that I had one image on the card (versus two per the FMS150 sketch)...still wanted to give them credit for the sketch inspiration :-)

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a terrific Tuesday!!

CC493 Joy of the Journey

Hi Stampers!

This is the first card of two that I created for the new CC493 Splitcoaststampers’ Color Challenge- Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon and Old Olive with the dessert option- use something recycled :-)

If you have not visited the challenge site yet, I encourage you to do so- marvelous inspiration and I hope you can play along with us this week!

To create this card:

The main focal panel is from Graphic 45’s Come Away With Me paper series – darken some of the colors using Stampin’ Write markers- Old Olive for the trees, Lost Lagoon for the background and Calypso Coral for the dress.

Once the coloring was finished, apply Ranger© Tim Holtz® Old Paper Distress Stain to “antique” the paper.

Mount the panel onto Calypso Coral cardstock, trim and mount onto Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Zig Zag Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of retired Epic Day Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Lightly sand the embossed panel using a Sanding Block, trim and mount onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Add a piece of cardboard (for the recycled item- split the cardboard to open up for the core to show) along with a ½ White Tea Lace Paper Doily.  Add the 3/8” Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta ribbon strips and triple ribbon bow.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock, trim again and mount onto Lost Lagoon cardstock and finally mount onto the Calypso Coral card base.

Create the rolled flowers from Lost Lagoon and Calypso Coral cardstock using 1 ¼” and 1 ¾” Scallop Circle Punches- punch the scallop circles, hand cut a wavy spiral from the outside of the scallop circle toward the center, use the retired Crimper Tool to distress a bit (or just scrunch the paper by hand), roll up from the outside edge and adhere using Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive or a Hot Glue Gun.    Create the leaves from Old Olive cardstock with the Bird Builder Punch.

Add the flowers to the card front along with the Pearls to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: None
Paper/Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Come Away With Me (Graphic 45)
Ink: Stampin' Write Markers- Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive; Ranger© Tim Holtz® Old Paper Distress Stain

PPA216 Seashells Thinking of You

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to share one more card with you that I created this past weekend using the PPA216 Sketch at Pals Paper Arts.

Again, I hope you will find time to check out the Design Team samples as well as the rest of the gallery- it always amazes me that so many ideas can come from one sketch!

To create this card:

Ink the Hardwood background stamp with Smoky Slate Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Trim the background panel for the vertical strip in the sketch.

Ink the sand dollar stamp from By The Seashore using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto the background.  Stamp another image onto a piece of sticky paper (or scrap paper) to create a mask and stamp the starfish image.

Using the same steps as above, create a mask for the starfish, place the mask for the sand dollar and starfish over the images and stamp the remaining shell image.

Color the seashells using a Sponge Dauber with Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink and apply a bit of Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Ink over the woodgrain background.

Add additional details to the shells using the Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker and shadows with the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker.  Use the Chalk Marker to add a few highlights and apply retired Frost White Shimmer Paint with the AquaPainter™.

Mount the panel onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock, trim and mount again onto Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  Punch the sentiment using the 2 ½” Circle Punch, cut across the top and layer onto circles from Basic Gray and Basic Black cardstock.

Adhere the sentiment to the top of the layer and add a few corners of Basic Black cardstock (from the remaining halves of the circle).

Mount a panel of Typeset Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock, trim and mount again onto Basic Black cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™  Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Basic Gray cardstock- trim and adhere to the lower edge of the panel.

Ink the Woodgrain background stamp using Basic Gray Classic Ink and stamp onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  Trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Adhere the frayed 1 ¼” Burlap ribbon to the DSP panel and mount the panel onto the card front adding the retired Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware to the lower corner.

Add the focal image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: By The Seashore, Woodgrain, World Map, Wetlands

Ink: Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink , Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate; Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker, Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabilities™ marker, Chalk Marker

Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Crisp Cantaloupe, Typeset DSP

CC492 Corner Garden Birthday Wishes

Hi Again Stampers!

Here is my last card that I created for the CC492 Color Challenge atSplitcoaststampers-   Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink and So Saffron and the dessert option is “Dessert”- this time I decided to skip “dessert”   :-)

Again, I hope you will take the time (if you have not done so already) to visit the gallery to  check out all of the wonderful examples and inspiration!!

To create this card:

Using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the Corner Garden background stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use Stampin’ Write Markers- Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and retired Pretty In Pink to color the flowers and leaves.  Add additional color using Stampin' Blendabilities™- Light markers from the Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Collections.   Use the Chalk Marker to add a few highlights.

Distress the entire panel using Ranger© Tim Holtz® Distress Stains- first Antique Linen followed by Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.   At this point, the background was too dark so I spritzed with water and decided to lighten the panel using Picket Fence (wiping off the flowers).

Ink the Dictionary stamp using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and stamp in a random pattern over the panel (place the image face down onto the Dictionary stamp and press randomly over the image with heavier and lighter pressure).

Cut the panel in thirds and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of retired Pretty In Pink cardstock and add the 5/8” Satin Ribbon triple bow.

Mount the panel onto the Chocolate Chip card base.

Add the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®  (I used an image that I had previously printed from My Digital Studio (MDS) from Watercolor Trio).

Add a few Pearls to the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Corner Garden, Dictionary, Watercolor Trio (MDS version)

Ink:  Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink, Stampin’ Write Markers- Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Pretty In Pink (retired); Stampin' Blendabilities™ - Light Daffodil Delight, Light Melon Mambo and Light Crumb Cake markers;  Ranger© Tim Holtz® Distress Stains- Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Picket Fence; Chalk Marker

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink (retired)

Accessories: Pearls, 5/8” Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

This card was a bit difficult to photograph- the background has alot of dimension and looks better in real life :-)

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a fabulous Sunday!

Every Blessing- Two Challenges in One :-)

Mount ½ of a White Tea Lace Paper Doily below the horizontal strip onto the card front.
Create the banners from the same print of retired Everyday Enchantment DSP- use the Hexagon Punch for the banner points and mount onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock (creating banners with the punch as well).

CC492 Happy Birthday Cake :-)

Hi Stampers!

Time for another Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers!!  This week’s CC492 Challenge is to useChocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink and So Saffron and the dessert option is “Dessert”- cupcakes, cakes, pies, cookies, etc.

I find that when I start working with specific colors, I generally stamp several images and create a few cards…this week, I decided to opt for “dessert” on two of the three cards that I created and will be sharing the others later this week :-)

The first card is also a birthday card so I have entered it into the Seize theBirthday “Anything Goes” Challenge.   Again, I hope you will take the time (if you have not done so already) to visit both sites and check out all of the Design Team entries as well as the galleries- wonderful designs and inspiration from all!!

To create this card:

Use Stampin’ Write Markers- Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and retired Pretty In Pink to color the retired Birthday Cake a la carte stamp.

Stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock and I decided to use a .005 Sakura Pigma Micron™ pen to outline the stamp image after stamping (and added a few details to the cake stand).

Trim the image to 1 ½” wide and insert the top of the paper into the new Note Tag Punch and punch the top (have the punch area facing you and insert the image down into the punch in order to only stamp the top portion).  Rotate the paper and punch the bottom as well.

Punch another Note Punch from Chocolate Chip cardstock, cut this tag in half and adhere to the back of the stamped image at the top and bottom (the finished card, you cannot see the bottom so you could omit that layer).

Use the Big Shot™ with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the So Saffron and Pretty In Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP- retired Stampin’ Up!). Trim and layer onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Adhere a retired Pretty In Pink button to the center of the 5/8” Satin Ribbon bow and add to the card front to hide the seam (I added a small strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock to the center to mimic thread).

Add the cake image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to the card front.  Stamp the sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Use the Hexagon Punch to create the banner points and mount onto Chocolate Chip cardstock (creating the banner points with the punch as well).

Punch the little banners from the coordinating DSP using the Banner Punch.   Arrange onto a piece of White Baker’s Twine (I use Hot Glue to attach to the twine) and add to the upper corner of the card front.

Attach a portion of a White Tea Lace Doily to the upper corner and add the buttons along the banner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Birthday Cake, Happiest Birthday Wishes (both retired)

Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Stampin’ Write Markers- Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, retired Pretty In Pink

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, retired DSP (not sure of the name)

Accessories: Big Shot™, ChevronTextured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Punches- Hexagon, Banner and Note Tag, White Tea Lace Doily, retired buttons- Button Latte, Pretty In Pink, White Baker’s Twine, .005 Sakura Pigma Micron™ pen, 5/8” Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Thanks again for taking stopping by- I will be posting a few more cards using this same color challenge throughout the week- hope you can come play along!!
