Nature Silhouettes- A Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Friends!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday- we are so blessed and are so thankfu!!

We were traveling yesterday to be with family and I did not have access to a computer (I decided to take a day away from electronics)- sometimes you just need a day to unwind... we had a great time along with great food!

Today, I had a chance to create a card using the Retro Sketches#191 Sketch along
Splitcoaststampers’ WT559 “Leftovers” Challenge (use your scraps/leftovers :-)).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge site galleries yet, again, I would encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Create a mask from sticky note paper or scrap paper using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch and place the mask onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Using Sponge Daubers, apply Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink along with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry Classic to create the sky.

Remove the mask, de-static the cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®.

Ink the tree image from the retired Stampin’ Up! Nature Silhouettes stamp set using Versamark™ ink, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once cooled, repeat the above steps with the deer image.

Trim the stamped panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock (this was from my scraps), trim and mount onto the banner panel (again, this was from my scraps cut with the Jumbo Stitched Fishtail Banner Die from My Favorite Things™).

Emboss a scrap piece of retired Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, trim and mount onto a scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock  (lightly sand with the Sanding Block).

Create the background  layer from Pumpkin Pie DSP using the retired Herringbone Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and the corners with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch, layer onto Basic Black cardstock punching the ticket style corners with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch and lightly sand with the Sanding Block.

Add the ribbons to the focal image banner panel (the loops were scrap pieces in my stash) and layer all of the pieces per the sketch.

Stamp the sentiment and create the layered banner with the Hexagon Punch, mount to the card front and add the Pumpkin Pie button to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Nature Silhouettes, Express Yourself (hostess set)- both retired Stampin’ Up!

Ink: Versamark™, Memento™ Tuxedo Black

Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, retired Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, MFT Jumbo Stitched Fishtail Banner Dies, retired Herringbone and Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing  Folders, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Punches-  1 ¼” Circle, Hexagon; Pumpkin Pie button, ¼” Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, 3/8” Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon, Antique Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware Ribbon Slide, Sanding Block

This card will be mailed to my Dad who will be celebrating his 81st Birthday in a few days ( (shh...Aunt Pat- do not spill the beans- lol!)) .  Since he lives so far away, we do not get a chance to see each other that often but I hope he likes this card (it reminds me of the days that he used to hunt- he is quite the outdoorsman) :-)

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!

ODBDSLC264 In The Highest

Hello Friends!

With Thanksgiving here in the United States this week, I decided to create a very easy card with the new In The Highest stamp set using gold embossing and a few layers of the Christmas Collection 2013 6x6 Paper.

I am also linking this card to the Alphabet Challenge "T for 'Tis the Season" Challenge and the Just Us Girls #320 "Red, Green and Gold" Challenge :-)

Our Daily Bread Designs- In The Highest, Christmas 2013 Paper Collection
To create this card, ink the In The Highest stamp set using an embossing ink and emboss with gold embossing powder.

Trim the panel and mount onto brushed gold cardstock, trim and mount onto burgundy cardstock, trim again and mount onto green cardstock.

Layer the Christmas Collection 2013 6x6 papers onto a piece of burgundy cardstock, trim and add the layered central panel with the gold satin ribbon.

Mount the entire panel onto the green card base.

Add the embossed sentiment panel with dimensional foam and add the gold satin ribbon bow to finish off the card.

It truly has been a blessing to design along this fabulous DT Team for the last few months (this is my final Guest DT spot with ODBD)...
If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will check out my DT sisters:

Wetlands- Happy 55th Birthday!!

Hi Friends!!

I had a chance to stamp today and decided to create a card for my brother (today was his birthday so this card will be late...I hope he does not check my blog and see it before receiving it :-)).
I decided to use the Mojo Monday 424 Sketch Challenge along with the Nacho Average #168 Color Challenge and the Seize the Birthday 11/19/15 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Again, if you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will take a moment to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

This card is very easy to create:

Stamp the Canadian goose image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, mask the goose and create a moon mask with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch (from scrap paper), place the masks over the goose and where you would like your "moon" and use a Sponge Dauber to apply Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink.

Remove the masks and use an AquaPainterc to soften your sponged area and pulling some of the ink over the moon.

Use an Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to color the grass and the Big Shot™   with the MFT Stitched Rounded Rectangular Dies to cut out the image and cutting another die from Early Espresso cardstock.

Cut the Early Espresso die cut in half and adhere behind the goose image.

Use the Big Shot™   with the Arrows Textured Impressions™  Emobssing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto Old Olive cardstock, trim and mount onto the Early Espresso card base.

Use the banner punch to create a few banners from retired Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper (DSP) and also cut a strip of Old Olive DSP (mount onto Early Espresso cardstock).

Add the vertical Old Olive striped strip and banners to the card front.

Pull the 1 1/2" Burlap Ribbon into threads and adhere behind the goose image area, mount the goose image panel onto the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals®.

Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the 2" Circle Punch and create a frame from the 2" Circle Punch from Early Espresso cardstock (cut this frame in half and mount behind the sentiment).

Create the numbers from Early Espresso cardstock using the retired GoGo Boots™  Sizzlets , spray with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and when dry, mount onto a 1 1/4" Punched Circle.

Add the sentiment with the numbers along with the retired Hodgepodge Hardware Clip to finish off the card.

***Optional ****  I felt that the card was a bit too "white" so I applied a bit of Ranger™ Tim Holtz™ Old Paper Distress Ink (plus this helped cover a bit of the glue around the numbers :-))

Stamp Sets:  Wetlands

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry; Stampin’ Write Markers- Old Olive, Basic Gray; Ranger™ Tim Holtz™ Old Paper Distress Ink

Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Old Olive, retired Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™ , Arrows Textured Impressions™  Embossing Folder, GoGo Boots™  Sizzlets , Punches- Banner, 2" and 1 1/4" Circle; 1 1/2" Burlap Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware Clip, Sponge Daubers, AquaPainter

F4A300 Prayerful Thoughts Quilt

Hi Friends!!

The 300th challenge details are to create a project using one of the first ten “Free For All” Challenges and I chose the F4A7 “Make a Quilt” Challenge along with the CC556 Color Challenge and CAS350 “To Grandma’s House We Go” Challenge (although this card could also qualify for the F4A1 "Textures, Colors & Patterns" that you normally would not use together- I truly struggle with pinks and reds together :-)).

I always remember the colorful quilts at my grandmother’s house- they were made from scraps and most of them were what she called popcorn quilts but I decided to create a bright colorful quilt for my card.

I hope you will find the time to come play along- check out the gallery for the F4A300 entries as well as the CC556 Gallery and CAS350 Gallery- wonderful inspiration from all!!

I chose the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps (SNSS) Prayerful Thoughts for the sentiment (I thought it would be perfect for this quilt theme)- if your day is sewn together with prayer, it is definitely less likely to become unraveled for sure!

This is a very easy card to create- emboss the background with the Chevron and retired Square Lattice Embossing Folders, cut the quilt from the different color challenge cardstocks along with white, put the quilt together onto scrap paper, emboss with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, punch apart with the 1” Square Punch, layer with dimensional foam onto cardstock, stamp the sentiment from the SNSS stamp set and cut with a stitched square die, layer onto Real Red cardstock, add the lace onto the embossed card front, mount the quilt panel and sentiment, add the Bow Builder Punched Paper Bow with the button along with Pearls to finish off the card.

Ink: Real Red

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, retired Primrose Petals

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chevron and retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, MFT Stitched Square STAX Dies, MFT Blueprints 20 Dies, Bow Builder Punch, 1” Square Punch, retired Brights Collection Button, White Crochet Lace from my stash, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a fantastic Friday, my friends!
