The Lord is Risen

Hi Friends!  I had a chance to design a card this week using the brand new stamp set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, The Lord is Risen (designed by Karla Dornacher).

This stamp set is available as part of the second Creative Worship Bible Journaling Kit (which includes The Lord is Risen and Love Ya Like A Sister along with a bundle of extra goodies ) and is available while supplies last for $31.95 (see more details here).

I also incorporated the sketch from the Fusion “Pretty in Pink” Challenge.

To create this card:

Position the floral image along with the words and stamp the images using Staz-On™ Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Ink and stamp an additional floral image with the lily onto a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images- Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride for the smaller flowers, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi for the leaves, Daffodil Delight for the flower centers, Pool Party for “LORD” and Sahara Sand for shadows.

Trim the main panel and mount onto Basic Gray cardstock.

Trim a piece of Blushing Bride designer paper (from a retired Hostess Level I paper pack) and mount onto a Basic Gray card base, trim a smaller piece of Blushing Bride DSP for the angled panel and mount onto Basic Gray cardstock.

Trim a piece of retired I Am Me Designer Series Paper (DSP), mount onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock for the horizontal strip, add directly to the card front and add the angled Blushing Bride panel as well.

Add the triple Gray Satin Ribbon bow to the corner of the focal image panel and mount the panel onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Fussy cut the second lily image and mount to the card front using dimensional foam over the lily image on the panel.

Add a few pearls to the flower centers and corner of the image panel and add added Clear Wink of Stella® to “LORD” to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  The Lord is Risen (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Wild Wasabi; Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, retired I Am Me and Blushing Bride DSP

Accessories: Pearls, 5/8” Gray Satin Ribbon

Up, Up and Away

Hi Friends!

I hope you are having a great week so far!  This evening I had a chance to create a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card for Joanne's PP283 Up, Up and Away Challenge at The Paper Players as well as the Splitcoaststampers’ Alphabet Challenge (B is for Balloons).

If you have not had a chance to visit the above sites, I hope you will find time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Fussy cut the balloon images from the Graphic 45® World’s Fair 8x8 Designer Paper (Balloon Bouquet).

Use the Big Shot™ to die cut a piece of Very Vanilla with the My Favorite Things® (MFT) Stitched Rectangle STAX Die and emboss a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Trim the embossed panel and mount onto the Tangelo Twist card base.

Adhere the smaller balloons directly to the stitched rectangular die cut (I used Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive) and add the larger balloon using dimensional foam.

Prepare a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler with Versamark™ Ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Winter White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Trim the “Hello” from the sentiment and create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch.

Mount the rectangle die onto the card front using dimensional foam and add the sentiment to the larger balloon image to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:; Six-Sided Sampler  (Stampin’ Up!)

Ink: Versamark™

Paper: Very Vanilla, Tangelo Twist, Graphic 45® World’s Fair Designer Paper

Accessories: Big Shot™, Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (retired), MFT Stitched Rectangle STAX Dies, Embossing Buddy™, Stampin’ Emboss® Winter White Embossing Powder (retired), Heat Tool, Hexagon Punch

Life's Roughest Storms...

Hi Friends!

I hope you have had a relaxing weekend so far!  My hubby and I were able to relax this afternoon and, of course, I had to take time a card since stamping and designing are one of my favorite ways to relax.

I designed this card using the Two Paper Diva’s February 2016 Sketch Challenge (a new challenge site for me) along with the Word Art Wednesday #220 "Anything Goes" Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers' Alphabet Challenge (A is for Anchor) :-).

I decided to hand tear the curved edge for the sketch and the sentiment is covering part of the curve (but I think you can still see it :-)).

If you have not already visited the above sites, I hope you will have a chance to do so- both sites have wonderful Design Team samples and entries!

To create this card:

Using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, stamp the anchor scene from Anchor the Soul(ODBD) set onto Very Vanilla cardstock and color with Stampin’ Write Markers- Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and Baked Brown Sugar.

Use Clear Wink of Stella®  to add a  bit of glimmer to the sand, seashells and anchor and die cut with the Big Shot™ and Double Stitched Circle Dies (ODBD).

Die cut another circle (the same size) with the Double Stitched Circle Dies (ODBD) from Basic Black cardstock, split the Basic Black circle in half and adhere the focal image to the black circle halves.
Sponge Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink over the edges and use the Color Spritzer Tool with the retired Stampin’ Write Baked Brown Sugar marker to add distressing over the sand area and sky area.

Trim a piece of Typeset Designer Specialty Paper, mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, sponge Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink over the edges and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Cut three strips of the Going Places Designer Series Paper, hand tear the lower edge to create a curve for the sketch, distress the edges with the Distressing Tool, mount onto Basic Black cardstock and sponge Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink over the edges.

Mount the three strips onto the card front (the center strip flush to the card front and the two side strips with dimensional foam).

Tea stain a piece of 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon (cut the edges off , pull apart and tea stain using Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tattered Twigs Distress Stain (spritzing water over the stained burlap ribbon and drying carefully with the Heat Tool).

Add the burlap to the card front and mount the focal image using dimensional foam.

Use the Embossing Buddy® to prepare a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment from Anchor the Soul with Versamark™ ink and stamp onto the Basic Black cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.   Once the embossing has cooled, trim the panel close to the sentiment.

Ink the seashells from Beyond the Sea (Artistic Outpost) using Versamark™ Ink and stamp onto the prepared piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color the seashells with Stampin’ Write Markers (Sahara Sand and retired Primrose Petals) and carefully cut out the seashells.

Knot a length of Hemp Twine, apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tattered Twigs Distress Stain (spritzing water over the stained burlap ribbon and drying carefully with the Heat Tool) to tea-dye the twine, twist the ends to fray the twine and mount onto the card front.

Add the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Anchor the Soul (Our Daily Bread Designs), Beyond the Sea (Artistic Outpost)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Stampin’ Write Markers-Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, retired Baked Brown Sugar; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tattered Twigs Distress Stain, Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink, Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper/Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Basic Black; Typeset Specialty DSP, Going Places DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Double Stitched Circle Dies (ODBD), Sponge Dauber, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® White and Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Color Spritzer Tool, 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon, Hemp Twine, Distressing Tool

Thanks again for stopping by- it is true, with Christ as our Savior and Anchor, we can go through life’s roughest storms!

Have a blessed week, my friends!

SUO142 Trust In The Lord

Hi Friends!

It’s time for the SUO142 “Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration 2016” Challenge (Sale-A-Bration (SAB), an annual Stampin’ Up! promotion that allows you to choose one item from the SAB Catalog for every $50 in sales).  We want to see what you have created with this year's SAB Products :-)

I decided to use two SAB items on my card, the What I Love photopolymer stamp set along with the Botanical Gardens Designer 6x6 Vellum Pack.

This card also incorporates the Pals Paper Arts PPA284 ColorChallenge and the #TGIF42 Sketch Challenge (I flipped the sketch to the right to use the design in a portrait orientation :-)).

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design Team member samples at the SU-Only Challenge site as well as the fantastic Design Team samples and galleries at the other two challenge sites- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock. Trim the panel and mount onto the Calypso Coral card base.

Use a sewing machine with a zig zag stitch to adhere a piece of the Botanical Gardens Vellum to a piece of Old Olive cardstock and mount onto the lower portion of the card front.

De-static another piece of the Botanical Gardens Vellum with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the floral image from What I Love with Versamark™ Ink and stamp onto the printed side of the vellum.  Apply White Stampin’ Emboss® Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Create a mask for the flower image with a sticky note, mask the flower and repeat the steps above to stamp two more flowers and three stems.

Once the embossing powder has cooled (only a few seconds), flip the stamped vellum panel over and color the images from behind using Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral for the flowers and Old Olive for the stems.

I curved the center of the stamped panel
by adding an additional layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals®
so the sentiment could be pressed against
vellum :-)
Ink the sentiment from Trust God using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Adhere the stamped Vellum panel to the Whisper White panel with the zig zag stitch, mount onto Lost Lagoon cardstock and ad the 3/8” Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta Ribbon strip and triple bow to the corners.

Add a White Tea Lace Doily behind the panel and mount to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  What I Love (2016 SAB), Trust God

Ink:  Versamark™, Stāz-On® Jet Black; Stampin’ Write Markers- Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive; Botanical Blossoms Vellum (2016 SAB)
Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sewing Machine, White Thread, White Tea Lace Doily, Pearls, retired 3/8” Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta Ribbon

Psalm 129:8- The Blessings of the Lord

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you had a fun Valentine’s Day weekend!  I was able to spend a bit of time designing cards this weekend for a few of my Design Team challenges (will be sharing these later this week) but I also was able to create a card using the Our Daily Bread Designs "Shining the Light" ODBDSLC270 Sketch Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers’ (SCS) CC569 Color Challenge and the Just Add Ink  JAI298"Just Add V" Challenge (Verse for the sentiment).

If you have not done so already, I hope you will find the time to check out the Design Team samples and gorgeous gallery at Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) as well as the SCS and Just Add Ink galleries-  fabulous inspiration from all!

This card was very easy to create:

Ink the Quilts (ODBD) stamp image using Stāz-On® Jet Black ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use an AquaPainter™ to apply ink from Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Old Olive and Watermelon Wonder to the quilt square and once dry, apply Clear Wink of Stella® to a few areas (this is difficult to see in the photo), fussy-cut the quilt square and layer onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies to cut out a circle and the ODBD Pennants Dies to cut out (and emboss the pennant) from Watermelon Wonder cardstock and the Layered Lacey Squares Die to cut out a piece from Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the ODBD Chalkboard Vine Background stamp with Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink and stamp off once before stamping onto the Double Stitched Circle die cut and Pennant Die Cut.

Emboss a piece of retired Old Olive Designer Series Paper with the retired Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, use a zig zag stitch with white thread to attach it to a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and mount onto the Watermelon Wonder card base.

Cut the Pennant Die cut (to split the die) and mount the Pennant Die cut along with the Layered Lacey Square die cut onto the card front.

Mount the Quilts image on a diagonal onto the Double Stitched Circle die cut and add the layered image the card front using dimensional foam.

Stamp the verse from the ODBD Doily Blessings stamp set with Stāz-On® Jet Black ink, stamp onto Whisper White cardstock and die cut with the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies.

Layer the die cut sentiment onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock (also die cut with the same size ODBD Double Stitched Circle Die) and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add the Lost Lagoon 3/8” Stitched Satin Triple Bow with Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Quilts, Chalkboard Vine Background, Doily Blessings (all ODBD)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black, Watermelon Wonder; Stampin’ Write Markers- Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Watermelon Wonder

SC122 Love You

Hi Friends!!

Woohoo!! I am a Guest Designer for the Stampin’ Celebration SC122 Photo Inspiration Challenge and I decided to create a Mixed Media card using the colors and the heart theme.

I hope you have a chance to visit the gallery at Stampin’ Celebration and check out the rest of the Design Team samples as well as the designs from the other two challenge sites- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Apply Gesso® to a piece of Whisper White cardstock (I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had printed some Scripture from Psalms and decided that I was unhappy with my Bible Journaling on that page, so I cut the paper into A2 size panels and this is one of those panels).

Once the gesso has dried, apply Gelatos®- I used a blue metallic, light blue and metallic pink (sorry, the colors were not printed on the outside and I neglected to note them before discarding the packaging- oops!).

Spread the Gelatos® with your finger (I used a dry paper towel), spritz with water and allow the colors to merge and drip down the paper.

Dab the colors with a paper towel, re-apply, spritz again and dry with the Heat Tool.

Add Ranger® Tim Holtz® Worn Lipstick Distress Stain, spritz and dry with the Heat Tool.

Once you are satisfied with the color (I ended up doing several layers), use a Sponge Dauber to apply Melon Mambo Classic Ink over the Memory Box™ Texture Flourish Stencil, trim the panel, mount onto a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Here is the background before adding the die cut heart :-)
Adhere a strip of Basic Black cardstock across the upper portion of the panel, add the Basic Black paper bow and Antique Brad.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits™ (Stampin’ Up!) to cut a heart from Whisper White cardstock and a few of the flowers from Melon Mambo cardstock.

Also, from the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits ™ cut two of the large flowers and three of the smaller flowers from Whisper White cardstock.

Mount the Whisper White Bloomin’ Heart die cut to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the Melon Mambo flowers to the Bloomin’ Heart die with with Stampin’ Dimensionals® as well.
Add Pearls for the centers of the flowers and the heat embossed sentiment banner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Express Yourself (retired Stampin’ Up! Hostess Set)

Ink: Versamark™, Melon Mambo; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Worn Lipstick Distress Stain; Gelatos®

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo

Accessories: Gesso®, Big Shot™,  Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits™, Texture Flourish Stencil (MB), Pearls, Punches-Bow Builder,  Hexagon; Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Winter White Embossing Powder (retired), Heat Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you can gather your supplies and join us at the Stampin’ Celebration SC122 Photo Inspiration Challenge!
