Merry & Bright - Miracle of Christmas

Hi Friends!

This evening I will be sharing a few more Christmas cards using the Our Daily Bread Designs Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set from the November 2016 Release.

TCC63 Joy

Hi Friends!!

It’s time for the #63“Love & Joy” Challenge at The Card Concept (this will be our last challenge until January 4, 2017)!

I know I say this each time, but I absolutely love the inspiration photo that Lesley chose- the cozy feeling of the fireplace with the “JOY” and “WISH” Banners as well as the pine garlands, the fabrics, the brass clock, the reindeer and the brick- you name it and I love it!!

I designed this Shabby Chic card inspired by the gold on the brass clock, the black of the chalkboard, the reds as well as the pine greenery and decided to pull out the retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Joy (that I have not inked up in several years).

I am also linking to the Addicted to Stamps and More #222 “Make Your Mark” Challenge along with The Christmas Card Challenge #50 "Anything Goes"- I hope you will have a chance to visit us at The Card Concept to check out the rest of our Design Team samples as well as the other challenge sites- fabulous inspiration from all!!

To create this card:

Use a distressing tool to distress the gold background paper (from my stash) and emboss the piece of Always Artichoke cardstock with a Sizzix® Plaid Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and distress the edges.

Layer the pieces onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, distress the edges and mount the Basic Black card front.

Add the white crochet lace and the 1” green satin ribbon (both from my stash)- wrap the ends behind the card front.

De-static a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the retired Stampin’ Up! Joy image with Versamark™ ink, stamp and apply Black Embossing Powder, heat set with the Heat Tool.

Color the embossed image using Stampin’ Write Markers- Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Delightful Dijon and Basic Gray.  Trim the panel and mount onto Basic Black cardstock.

Mount the background panel onto the white card base (you cannot see the white base but it is there) and add the Joy embossed panel with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card with a few pearls in the corners.

Stamp Sets: Joy (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink: Versamark™, Stampin’ Write Markers- Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Wild Wasabi, Delightful Dijon and Basic Gray

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Always Artichoke; misc gold designer paper (not sure of the manufacturer)

Jesus Is the Reason for the Season

Hi Friends!

I am still working on Christmas cards and decided create quick, easy Christmas card using the Our Daily Bread Designs Jesus Loves You Stamp/Die Duos-Clear Stamps from the ODBD November 2016 Release along with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and the ODBD Holy Night Die.

To create this card:

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and stamp the sentiment from the ODBD Jesus Loves You Stamp/Die Duos-Clear Stamps  with archival black ink onto the lower right corner area.

Mount the die cut/stamped rectangle onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and mount onto the card base (I used a white card base that you cannot see from the front of the card).

Die cut the ODBD Holy Night Die from black and silver foil cardstock, layer the black behind the silver foil (this gives it a bit more stability) and add dimensional foam behind the main pieces of the die.

Cut a strip of black cardstock (approx. 2” wide) and mount onto the card front, add the Holy Night Die strip.

Die cut the "Jesus" die from the ODBD Jesus Loves You Stamp/Die Duos-Clear Stamps  die with silver foil and two pieces of black cardstock, layer the black behind the silver and add to the card front.

Add a rhinestone to the center of the star to finish off the card.

Quick and easy!  I had fun designing this card and hope I have inspired you to create something this week- Christmas is only a few weeks away!!

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- hugs and I hope you have a great week, my friends!

Merry Christmas Star

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far!  It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ SC621Sketch Challenge and I just love the sketch that Diane designed for us this week!

I decided to create a Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas card with the retired Stampin’ Up! Christmas Star (Holiday Single) stamp along with a sentiment from the retired Contempo stamp set.

I am also linking this card to the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSS252 Inspiration Challenge (I was inspired by the reds and greens as well as the white) along with the Time Out #71 “Christmas with an Optional Twist of Glitter/Shimmer” Challenge.

If you have not already visited the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will have a chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters at the SCS Sketch Gallery as well as the other challenge sites!

To create this card:

Using Stampin’ Write Markers (Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke), color the retired Stampin’ Up! Christmas Star image, “huff” onto the ink to re-moisten and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Fussy-cut the image and use the Simply Scored™ Tool to score all of the lines.  Fold the score lines to create the dimension and use a foam brush to apply ModPodge® to the image (be careful not to press too hard since the ink will start to run together and set it aside to dry).  FYI- I like to apply ModPodge® at times to images to give them more stability and it does have shimmer :-).

Use the Simply Scored™ Tool to add scoring to create the “side panel” elements of the sketch, trim the panel, mount onto Always Artichoke cardstock, trim again and mount onto Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.

Use Clear Wink of Stella® to add shimmer to the scored areas (difficult to see in the photo).

Use the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker Ink to ink the sentiment from the retired Contempo Christmas stamp set and stamp onto the card front.

Mount the entire card front onto the white card base, add the looped retired Silver Cord and mount the Christmas Star image with dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets:  Christmas Star,  Contempo Christmas (retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Medium: Stampin’ Write Markers- Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler; Clear Wink of Stella®; ModPodge®

Cardstock/Designer Paper:  Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories/Tools:  Simply Scored Tool™, retired Silver Cord

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you can gather your supplies and join us for the SC621 Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week!

May Your Days Be Merry & Bright

Hi Friends!

I am still working on Christmas cards and decided create quick, fairly easy Christmas card using the Our Daily Bread Designs November 2016 Release stamp set, Merry& Bright Clear Stamp Set along with the ODBD Snowflake Sky Dies and ODBD Snow Crystals Dies and previously released ODBD Filigree Frames Dies.

I am linking this card to the Simon Says Monday “Trio Tastic” Challenge as well as the Weekly Christmas Card #49 Challenge (optional color challenge that I did not participate in this time) and the Paper Players Clean and Simple PP322 Christmas Challenge.

To create this card:

Die cut the ODBD Snowflake Sky Die from white and light pink cardstock, layer the white background over the pink card base and add the die cut pink snowflake panel onto the die cut white panel using dimensional foam.

Die cut three of the snowflakes using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies from white cardstock  and layer onto the card front.

Ink the sentiment from ODBD Merry & Bright Clear Stamp Set with archival black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, heat set, die cut and emboss with the ODBD Filigree Frames Dies.

Add a bit of silver metallic thread to the corners of the sentiment before mounting onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card by adding rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes and applying shimmer to the white snowflakes with a clear glitter pen.

Quick and easy!  I had fun designing this card and hope I have inspired you to create something this week- Christmas is just around the corner!!

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- hugs and I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving week!
