TCC94 Praying for You

Hi Friends!

Isn’t this a fun photo?

I love the beautiful red bicycle as well as the gorgeous bouquet of flowers and was inspired to create a Clean and Layered, Classy and Elegant Mixed Media card.

I incorporated the Power Poppy digital stamp images from Countryside Bouquet (2014) and Roses and Chamomile.

I love to participate in online challenges and will also be linking this card to the Simon Says Work It Wednesday May 2018 “Inspiredby Sunshine & Summertime” Challenge (love the red and bright colors of the flowers that remind me of summer), the Retro Rubber #87 "Let's Get Sketchy" Challenge (the digital stamp images are several years old and this is the first card I have created with the Countryside Bouquet image) and the Word Art Wednesday #336-#337 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Just a reminder that the Card Concept is a bi-weekly challenge that has an inspiration photo along with a suggestion of design styles that you can choose from to create your card- Clean and Simple, Clean and Graphic, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and Elegant and Mixed Media (or you can combine several styles for your own style).

If you have not had a chance to visit us at The Card Concept or visit the other challenge sites yet, I hope you will find time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Using a design software (I used the retired Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio™), position the Countryside Bouquet digital floral image along with the sentiment from Roses and Chamomile onto your screen, enlarge if desired and print out onto a piece of white cardstock. Watercolor the image with distress inks, water-based markers, alcohol markers and watercolor pencils.

2). Die cut the floral image with a stitched oval die, mount onto another oval cut from concord cardstock (die cut with a slightly larger oval die).

3). Trim the sentiment, create the fishtail banner with a hexagon punch, mount onto concord cardstock.

4). Die cut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto another rectangle die cut from concord cardstock and adhere to the poppy card front.  Add the stitched horizontal strip of concord designer paper, add the grosgrain ribbon with the ribbon slide, wrapping the ends behind the card panel.  Mount the entire card front onto the white card base.

5).  Mount the bouquet oval and the sentiment onto the card front with dimensional foam.

6). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals and an extra fine white paint pen to add a few highlights to the flower centers.

Stamp Sets: Countryside Bouquet, Roses and Chamomile (Digital stamps from Power)

Ink/Mediums: Printer Ink- Black, Tim Holtz® Distress Ink- Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint; Stampin’ Write Markers- Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Always Artichoke, Spectrum Noir™Clear Glitter Pen, Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen

Sorry, I Was So Prickly

Hi Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great weekend so far! Today I am sharing another card using the May Creative Worship release stamp set, Refresh My Soul from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

Refresh My Soul has so many wonderful sentiments and images- I love that they can be used for cards as well as Bible Art Journaling, scrapbooking, gifts and home décor.

I do not know about you, but I could use a card with this sentiment for sure! Sometimes I tend to speak before I think and it can sound a bit "prickly" :-)

I decided to participate with the Tuesday Throwdown #393 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge (top row across- watercolor, emboss and die cut) along with the A Gem of a Challenge #220 “Use Three of Something” (three cactus images) and the A Bit More Time to Craft #68 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1).  Ink the three cactus images with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Watercolor the images with water based markers before fussy-cutting out each image.

2). De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, lay the cover-up die onto the black cardstock so you can position the “Sorry I was so” and “Prickly” sentiments from Refresh My Soul . Remove the die, stamp the sentiments with Versamark™ ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

3). Die cut a piece of curry designer paper with the stitched cover-up die, mount onto the embossed black cardstock.  Add the black twine (wrapping the ends behind the card front) and mount the entire card front onto a white card base.

4). Adhere the fussy-cut cacti images with dimensional foam.

5). Add the twine bow along with the shimmer brad (I trimmed off the brad points and used hot glue to adhere to the card front).

6). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the cacti images to finish off the card.

TCC93 Happy Mother's Day

Hi Friends!

I love this beautiful bouquet of flowers and was inspired by the different color blossoms as well as the gorgeous green in the background to create a Shabby Chic Mixed Media card.

I decided to use the digital Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher from Power Poppy and the soon-to-be retired sentiment from SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I love to participate in online challenges and will also be linking this card to the Simon Says Work It Wednesday April 2018 “Mother’s Day” Challenge, the Retro Rubber #86 “Beautiful Flowers” Challenge (this digital image is several years old and I believe this is the first card I have actually created with it) and the Word Art Wednesday #334-#335 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:
1). Using a design software (I used the retired Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio™), position the Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher digital image onto your screen, enlarge if desired and print out onto a piece of vanilla cardstock. Watercolor the image with distress inks and markers.  Create a line area for the table using a Pigma Micron™ 005 Black Pen.

2). Die cut the image with a stitched circle die, mount onto another circle of brown cardstock (also die cut with the same stitched circle die).

3). Use a stencil brush with peeled paint distress ink to stencil the background around the flowers.

4). Die cut a piece of patterned paper with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto another rectangle die cut from espresso cardstock. Mount onto the white card front, add the ivory crochet lace and green grosgrain ribbon (wrapping the ribbon ends around to the inside of the card).  Cover the ends of the ribbon on the back of the card front with a piece of soft yellow cardstock.

5). Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to all of the tulips and an extra fine white paint pen to add a few dots to the flower stamens.

6). Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes with archival black ink onto a piece of vanilla cardstock, heat set with a heat tool and stencil a bit of the peeled paint distress ink over the sentiment.  Create the banner points, mount onto espresso cardstock and add to the card front with dimensional foam.

7). Add a few pearls to the sentiment as well as the top left-hand corner to finish off the card.

2). Die cut a piece of black cardstock with a pierced tag die, de-static with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiments/images from Let’s Do This with Versamark™ ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

3). Mount the tag image to the card front with dimensional foam and add the 3/8” black and white gingham ribbon bow.

4). De-static a piece of white cardstock, stamp the cacti images from Refresh My Soul using Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing cools, watercolor the images with water-based markers and fussy-cut.  Mount the cacti to the card front with dimensional foam.
