The First Noel

Merry Christmas Sweet Friends!

I hope all of you have a blessed day celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.  And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”    Luke 2:8-11 ESV

I love all of the patterns in the new Echo Park The First Noel 6x6 paperpad and used one of the cut-a-parts as the main image for this Christmas card along with a sentiment from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set.

I will be sharing this card at the Word Art Wednesday #523-#524 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the Word Art Wednesday Challenge blog yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from Farmhouse Christmas with black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment with the medium double ended die from the Fishtail Sentiment Banners.

Trim a piece of white cardstock to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”. Die cut the panel with the lattice die from the Tim Holtz Mixed Media #1 Dies.

Mount the die-cut panel onto the red patterned sheet from The First Noel paper pad, trim and mount onto a piece of navy cardstock.

Trim a piece of the gold patterned paper from The First Noel paper pad, mount onto navy cardstock and adhere to the card front.

Wrap a piece of sage twill ribbon to the center of the horizontal strip and adhere the ends of the ribbon behind the panel.

Mount the panel onto a white card front.

Trim the nativity patterned cut-a-part, mount onto navy cardstock and adhere to the card front with dimensional foam.

Mount the sentiment with dimensional foam and finish off the card with a pearl in the center of the star.

A quick and easy card- perfect for mailing and reflecting the "Real Reason for the Season"!

Merry Christmas Wreath

Hi Friends!

I mailed out my Christmas cards this week (I know I am a bit behind schedule) and realized that I am short approx. 40 cards! I believe that some of my cards are going to be late (again) this year!

I tend to start in January on mass-producing Christmas cards, but by mid-February, I get side-tracked with other Design Team commitments and other holidays- Valentines, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc. Before you know it, Christmas is here!

Maybe 2022 will be the year that I can keep up with my personal commitment to make 20 each month, we'll see, lol! :-)

I created this quick card using the Seasonal Wreath Stamp Set- Fall/Winter Bundle along with the new Carta Bella Happy Christmas 6x6 paper pad along with dies and supplies from Stamp Simply!  FYI- Some of the elements I already had die-cut and were in my stash, so it was quick but would take a bit of time if you had to die-cut the tag, lace and rectangle :-).

As some of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be linking this card to the  Color Hues #31 “Red & Green” Challenge, the Word Art Wednesday #521-#522 “Anything Goes” Challenge and the Hand Stamped Sentiments #379 Inspiration Challenge (I was inspired by the greenery in the packages as well as the red ornaments).

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the wreath and poinsettia image from the Seasonal Wreath Stamp Set- Fall/Winter Bundle with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut each with the coordinating dies from the Seasonal Wreath Stamp Set- Fall/Winter Bundle and color the poinsettia with water-based markers.

Die cut a tag from white cardstock using the medium size die from the Tim Holtz Tag Collection dies.

Die cut the medium size rectangle from white cardstock using the Spellbinders Amazing Grace Hemstitch Rectangle Dies, de-static the die-cut and heat emboss the sentiment “Merry Christmas” from the Seasonal Wreath Stamp Set- Fall/Winter Bundle (same steps as above).

Trim a piece of the Carta Bella Happy Christmas 6x6 paper to approx. 3 ¾” x 3”.  Adhere to a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock. Adhere the panel onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Mount the entire card front panel onto a white card base.

Die cut the paper lace from another piece of white cardstock using the Tim Holtz Crochet Die, mount onto the card front. Add a strip of the dark floral pattern from the Carta Bella Happy Christmas 6x6 paper across the card front (this will cover the edge of the lace die cut and cut edge of the snowflake patterned paper).

Use a scrap of the same floral paper to fill in the area at the top of the tag and adhere layered sentiment rectangle onto the die cut tag.

Add the die cut wreath and floral image onto the tag.

To finish off the card, loop a piece of sage twill ribbon through the top of the tag and tie with a piece of burlap string.

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another very quick Christmas card designed with the new Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper pad along with the Wonder of Christmas stamp set from Stamp Simply.

This card is so easy to create since the patterns in the new Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper pad  are perfect for those last minute Christmas or winter cards!  Just add a sentiment and you are done!

I am playing along with the Double “D” Christmas Joy Challenge (I was inspired by the greens and red along with the Christmas Joy theme) and the Word Art Wednesday #521-#522 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim the sled patterned paper from the Sending Joy paper pad to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”.

Distress the edges with a distressing tool (or the edge of your scissors).

De-static the upper right hand area with an embossing powder tool.

Ink the sentiment from the Wonder of Christmas stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount the panel to a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” piece of dark green cardstock and mount again onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of sage green cardstock.

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

To finish off the card, use a clear glitter marker to add shimmer to the snow.

RRCB173 Sending Christmas Blessings

Hi Friends!

Woohoo!  One of the perks of participating with The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog is that you have a chance to be a Guest Designer and this week,  I am honored to be the Guest Designer for their #173 Inspiration Challenge!

I was inspired by the greenery, red berries and Christmas theme and decided to pull out two retired stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!- Remembering Christmas and Christmas Blessings.  Both sets are from 2013 and this is the first time I have used the Remembering Christmas stamp set- love the deer image and not sure why it has taken so long to ink it up!

We would also love to have you join us at The Retro Rubber Challenge blog- pull out your older stamps (at least one year old), create a card and link up to the gallery!

I have a personal goal to create a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers’ sketches and I used the SC741 Sketch for the layout.

If you have not had a chance to visit all of the challenge sites, I hope you will find time to do so- inspiration galore!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the deer image from Remembering Christmas with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink onto the prepared panel, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once cooled, fussy-cut the deer image and set aside.

Die cut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched oval die, mount onto another oval die cut from black cardstock (I generally use the same size die cut, cut in half and mount behind the top oval, in this case, allowing just a bit of the background oval to show).

Mount the fussy-cut deer image onto the oval, allowing a bit of the antlers to hang over the die cut.

Trim a piece of plaid cardstock to approx. 3” x 5” and adhere to a piece of white cardstock, approx. 3 ¼” x 5 ¼”.

For the layers on the right, I used scraps from my stash (designer paper with green background and gold stars and a scrap of white cardstock embossed with a poinsettia embossing folder).

Mount the strip of white embossed cardstock (approx. ½” x 5 ¼”) onto a piece of black cardstock (4 ¼” x 5 ½”).

Layer a strip of the green designer paper onto the card front overlapping the white embossed layer a bit.

Mount the plaid panel onto the card front and add the deer oval with dimensional foam.

Die cut various branches from green cardstock using the Leaves & Branches Dies (Divinity Designs LLC).

Adhere the branches to below the deer image and add the ⅜” black and white gingham bow.

Ink the sentiment stamp from Christmas Blessings with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink onto the prepared panel, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the sentiment and create the banner points (I did this by hand and curved the edge).

Mount the sentiment onto the card front and add a few silver rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Remembering Christmas, Christmas Blessings (both retired Stampin’ Up!)

Ink/Mediums:  Versafine™ Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, retired Christmas paper- plaid and green with gold stars, red and gray plaid (Stampin’ Up!)

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr.™,  Leaves & Branches Dies (Divinity Designs LLC), Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder (retired SU!), Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, ⅜” Black and White Gingham Ribbon, Silver Rhinestones

Thanks again for taking the time to visit- I hope you have been inspired to join us at The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!  I hope all of you have a blessed Christmas month!

Merry Christmas- CAS Cards

Hi Friends!

I am sharing a another set of two quick Christmas cards designed with the new Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper pad with the Merry Christmas stamp set along with other items all from Stamp Simply.

As I mentioned in previous posts, I absolutely love all of the patterns in the new Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper pad-  they are perfect for quick Christmas or winter cards!  Just add a sentiment and a few other elements (if you wish)- easy to create and also flat for mailing!

For this set of cards, I wanted to show that you could create several styles with the same stamp and just a few supplies that you most likely already have on hand.

Many of you who know that I enjoy participating with online challenges and I will be linking this card to the Simon Monday “Sparkle Mode” Challenge (it is hard to see the sparkle from the glitter pen on all of the ornaments, silver flower, etc. but it is there), Try It On Tuesday “Winter Wonderland” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #519-#520 “Anything Goes”Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this set of cards:

Trim the bird and candle patterned paper from the Sending Joy paper pad to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”.

Distress the edges with a distressing tool (or the edge of your scissors).

De-static the area next to the bird and candle with an embossing powder tool.

Ink the sentiment from the Merry Christmas stamp set with Versamark, apply silver embossing powder and/or and gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount both panels to a piece of 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of dark green cardstock and adhere to a white card base.

Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the ornaments, silver flowers, flames and berries (it is hard to see this shimmer in the photos but it is there, lol!).

Add a strip of ¼” crochet lace  to the lower portion of the bird scene and cover the top of the lace with a scrap piece of dark green cardstock.

Again, very easy to create and flat for mailing!

Stamp Sets:  Merry Christmas (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums:   Versamark, Zig Wink of Stella Brush- Clear Glitter Marker

Cardstock/Paper: White, Dark Green, Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 Paper Pad

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Powder Tool, Gold and Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, May Arts ¼” Crochet Lace- 15 yd spool- White
