Sound of the Sea- #RRCB192 Guest Designer

Hi Friends!

Woohoo! Today I am Guest Designing for the

Retro Rubber Blog Challenge #192 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!

I love participating with the Retro Rubber Blog Challenge since you are required to use a stamp/stamp set that is at least one year old! This encourages me to use my older/ retired stamps and I enjoy using some of my stash of paper and embellishments as well!

For this card, I chose the diagonal column, right to left (Nautical-Designer Paper-Blue) and I decided to pull out the 2015 Artistic Outpost Sounds of the Sea stamp along with the Divinity Designs LLC stamp set, Scripture Collection 9 and paired it with the Graphic 45 By The Sea designer paper, older washi tape and a nautical charm!

I enjoy participating with online challenges and will be playing along with the Simon Says Monday “Emboss It” Challenge (the main image and sentiment are both heat embossed) and the Word Art Wednesday #561-#562 Anything Goes Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Retro Rubber Blog Challenge site yet or the other challenge galleries, I would encourage you to do so- wonderful ideas and projects by all!

To create this card:

Ink the Sound of theSea image with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Once the embossing has cooled, color with water-based markers and distress oxide ink (see colors below).

Trim the panel, mount onto tangerine cardstock, trim again and mount onto navy cardstock.

Repeat the same process for the embossing of the verse sentiment from Scripture Collection 9, ink the Sound of the Sea stamp with the tangerine marker (I inked mainly the seashells and the map area) and stamp over the sentiment.  Sponge Antique Distress Oxide Ink over the sentiment to “age” the paper.  Die cut and layer onto two additional die cuts (one from tangerine cardstock and the other from navy, split both in the center and layer behind the sentiment).

Trim and distress the two different patterns from the By The Sea Graphic 45 paper and mount onto a piece of navy cardstock.

Layer the crochet ivory lace, striped grosgrain ribbon and stitched ribbon over the rough cut edge, wrapping the ends of the ribbon behind the panel.

Add the strips of washi tape to the lower right hand area and mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Mount the main image panel and sentiment with dimensional foam/

Use an antique pin to add the nautical charm to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Sound of the Sea (Artistic Outpost), Scripture Collection 9 (DivinityDesigns LLC)

Ink: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Tangerine Tango, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate; Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink- Antique Linen, Broken China

Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Tangerine Tango; By The Sea (Graphic 45)

Accessories: Gemini, Jr™, Deco Labels Framelit Dies (retired Stampin’ Up!), Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, AquaPainter™, 1 ½” Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, 3/8” Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon, White Crochet Lace, Nautical Charm (ribbon and charm from my stash)

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you can create a card/project and join us at The Retro Rubber Blog Challenge!

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a quick Christmas card using the new Stamp Simply Winter Release bundle, Christmas Stockings & Mittens, Peace & Joy Word Dies, Craft Consortium Tartan Plaid 6x6 Paper and a few other stamps and supplies from Stamp Simply.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Using a stencil brush with Mowed Lawn and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink, apply the ink onto a piece of white cardstock using the Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Layering Stencil.

De-static the stenciled panel with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from Christmas Joy Sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the panel and mount onto black cardstock, trim again and mount onto lime green cardstock (sponged with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink).

Trim again and mount onto black cardstock before adhering to the white card base.

Die cut the Joy Word Die from black cardstock and adhere to the panel.

Die-cut the stocking die (from the Christmas Stockings & Mittens bundle) from a piece of green plaid (Craft ConsortiumTartan Plaid 6x6 Paper Pad).

Die cut the stitched cuff, hanger, toe, heel, and snowflake pieces (from the Christmas Stockings & Mittens bundle) from white cardstock and adhere to the stocking.

Sponge a bit of Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink onto lime green cardstock and die cut three sprigs using the Two Sprigs die.

Layer the die-cut sprigs behind the stocking die cut and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add a silver cord bow and black rhinestone to the center of the snowflake.

Use a clear glitter marker to add sparkle to the sprigs, snowflake, and Joy sentiment.

Finish off the inside of the card by stamping the sentiment from Farmhouse Christmas onto a piece of white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink and trim the panel to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”.

Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and add to the card center.

Adhere a strip of the green tartan plaid to finish off the card.

TCC180 Eiffel Collage

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the #180 Travel Abroad or Stay At Home Challenge at The Card Concept!  This challenge has a new twist for us at The Card Concept- you have two inspiration challenge photos for this two week challenge (see below to check out our alternative "second" inspiration photo :-))!

I chose the #180 a photo as inspiration for my card, specifically the Paris tile on the upper right hand corner (top row) and also used the colors from the color dots for my Clean and Layered Mixed Media card.

I pulled out the Artistic Outpost Eiffel Collage background stamp with the sentiment from By The Sea (Divinity Designs, LLC)- I have not inked up either of these images in a while (I have a goal to ink up my older stamps and use what I have “in stock”).

I also enjoy playing along with other online challenges and playing along with the  Stamping Sensation September “Feminine” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #551-#552  “Anything Goes” Challenge into the design.

If you have not had a chance to visit our Design Team/gallery at The Card Concept Challenge, or the other challenge sites,  I hope you will find time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

This was a fairly easy card to create using just stamps and other supplies:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Eiffel Tower background stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamp onto the prepared cardstock.

Apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, fussy-cut around the edges and watercolor the image using water-based markers.

Layer the image onto white cardstock, trim and mount onto melon cardstock, trim and mount onto black cardstock. (FYI- if you are better than I am at centering your image onto the white cardstock in the beginning, you may not need to fussy cut and re-layer, lol!).

Add a strip of melon grosgrain ribbon, wrap the ends behind the panel.

Mount onto a white card base.

Ink the sentiment from By The Sea with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the panel close to the sentiment, mount onto black cardstock, trim again and add to the card front with dimensional foam.

Use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flowers and rhinestones to the floral centers and sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Eiffel Collage (Artistic Outpost), By The Sea (Divinity Designs LLC)

Ink/Mediums:  Versafine Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Balmy Blue, Gray Granite, Melon Mambo, So Saffron; Zig Clear Wink of StellaGlitter Marker

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, ¼” Melon Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestones

Thanks so much for stopping by-I hope you have been inspired to join us with our #180 Travel Abroad or Stay At Home Challenge at The Card Concept!

Here is the second inspiration photo that you could choose to use for your card.  We hope you can choose one, create a card and join us!

The deadline to link up to our gallery is Monday, October 3rd at noon EST.

Stamp Simply Winter Release

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the Winter 2022 Release from Stamp Simply!  I love the new stamp sets/bundles and word dies!

I decided to create a set of cards using the new stamps/dies along with the Carta Bella Welcome Winter 6x6 Paper Pad and other dies and supplies.

If you follow my blog, you know that I am trying to create a card for each of the over 950+ Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenges and used a different sketch for each of the cards.

Card #1:  Merry Christmas Wishes Stocking

I used the Splitcoaststampers SC30 Sketch  from 2005 (flipped upside down:-)) for the layout on this card.

The background panels are trimmed from different patterns of the designer paper from the Carta Bella Welcome Winter 6x6 paper pad, layered onto navy cardstock and mounted onto a white card base.

The Tim Holtz Crochet Die was die cut from white cardstock and was layered onto a vertical panel of white cardstock (hard to photograph white on white).

The stocking image from Christmas Stockings & Mittens Bundle was stamped onto the Carta Bella paper, die cut with the coordinating stocking die, white cardstock used for the toe, heel, cuff and snowflake pieces, everything was layered together and the sprigs were die cut from green cardstock.

The lighter blue cardstock panel behind the stocking was die cut with the Pierced Rectangle Dies.

Shimmer was added with a clear glitter marker to the stocking and snowflake.

The card was finished off with a silver cord bow and pearls.

Card #2 was designed in basically the same way as card #1 with a few additions.

I used the Splitcoaststampers SC700/SC01 Sketch Challenge for the layout and designed the three tags by stamping the new Snowflake Blessings Border Strip  with navy and light blue ink onto white cardstock, trimming to a rectangle to fit the three light blue tags die cut with the Sizzix Thinlits by Tim Holtz- Tag Collection dies.

The Blessings word die was die cut from navy cardstock (I die cut two and layered them together for dimension).  Shimmer was added with a clear glitter marker.

Stamps:  Christmas Stockings & Mittens Bundle, Snowflake Blessings Border Strip (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen

Cardstock/Paper: White, Navy, Marina Mist, Mossy Meadow (from my stash); Carta Bella Welcome Winter 6x6 Paper Pad

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Steel Dies- Fishtail Sentiment Banners, Christmas Stocking & Mittens Bundle, Blessings Word Die, Two Sprigs; Sizzix Thinlits by Tim Holtz- Crochet Dies, Sizzix Thinlits Dies by Tim Holtz- Tag Collection,  Spellbinders Celebration Dies- Pierced Rectangles, Silver Cord, Pearls

I Will Give You Shepherds

Hi Friends!

I designed this fall Pastor Appreciation card using Give Thanks Bundle and the Pastor & Ministry Appreciation Sentiments stamp set plus other supplies from Stamp Simply.

I love all of the fall colors here in the Northeast and especially love the change of the seasons in this area.  I wanted to participate with a few online challenges and will be linking this card to the following challenges:

If you have not already had a chance to do so, I hope you visit the Stamp Simply blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the SS Design Team as well as the other challenge galleries- gorgeous galleries from all!

To create this card:

De-static the top right hand area of a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of the Craft Consortium Brick Textures 6x6 paper pad with an embossing powder tool, stamp the verse from Pastor & Ministry Appreciation Stamp Set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Distress the edges, mount onto a piece of tangerine cardstock and trim close to the edge.

Add a strip of rust seam binding, wrapping the ends behind the panel.

Add three strips of Natural Burlap String, wrapping the ends behind the panel and mount onto a piece of white cardstock (trim close to the edge).

Add the layered panel to a piece of espresso cardstock and mount onto a white card base.

Ink the leaf/acorn image from the Give Thanks Bundle with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock,  apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.  Repeat this process for the second leaf image.

Once the embossing has cooled, watercolor with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die (also die cut several more leaves from white cardstock to layer behind the colored images to create a thicker layer).

Adhere the leaves to the card front using dimensional foam to finish off the card.

TCC179 Give Thanks

Hi Friends!

Welcome to The Card Concept #179 {Change of Season} Challenge!  I am so thrilled that we are back for our fall/winter session and I hope you will have time to check out our new Design Team and all of their beautiful inspiration!

I love butterflies and felt inspired by the color dots as well as the butterfly to create a Clean and Layered/ Mixed Media card.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have a personal goal to create cards using stamps and supplies that I already own (and have not inked up in a while) and I love this older retired stamp from Stampin’ Up! (Wonderful Wings from 2001) and paired it with a verse sentiment from the Give Thanks stamp set (currently available at Stamp Simply).

I enjoy participating with online challenges and will be playing along with the Simon Says Monday “Stamp It” Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #559-#560 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit us at The Card Concept or the other challenge sites, I hope you will find time to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the swallowtail butterfly image with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color the image with water-based markers.

Create a mask with a sticky note, apply distress oxide ink with a stencil brush over the flourish stencil.

Trim the panel, add the grosgrain ribbon and wrap the ends behind the panel.

Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim again and mount onto white cardstock, trim again and mount onto black cardstock before mounting onto a white card base.

De-static another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the verse sentiment with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut with a stitched square die, mount onto black cardstock trimming close to the edge.

Use the stencil brush with distress oxide ink to add a bit of stenciling over the sentiment.

Mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Finish off the card using a clear glitter pen.

Stamp Sets:  Wonderful Wings (retired Stampin’ Up! from 2001), Give Thanks (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums:  Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stormy Sky Distress Oxide, Stampin’ Write Markers- Flirty Flamingo, Wisteria Wonder, Smoky Slate; Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX Dies, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Memory Box
