Rejoice in the Lord

Hi Friends!

This week the Design Team at Stamp Simply are sharing cards for Easter and/or Spring.  Such wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!  I hope you will have time to visit and check them out!

Even though the temps are in the 30’s and 40’s here on the East Coast, I am looking forward to spring with the pretty flowers and blooming trees and decided to create an Easter card.

I pulled out a the Floral Cluster Summer Roses stamp set for the floral image and paired it with a verse sentiment from the He Has Risen stamp set.

I also used two separate paper pads, Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Rosev and Carta Bella My Valentine (both 6x6 paper).  Lastly, I added a bit of lace and ribbon as well as a few dies- all from Stamp Simply!

The floral image and the verse sentiment were heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The floral image was colored with water-based markers before die-cutting with the coordinating die and the sentiment was die-cut with an oval die.

The top half of the background is a piece of light rose designer paper from the Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Rose 6x6 paper pad. Unfortunately I had to cover up this gorgeous paper- look at all those fabulous ink drop backgrounds!  So pretty that you do not even need to add an image!

The lower half of the background is a floral pattern from the new
Carta Bella My Valentine 6x6 Paper Pad.  This paper pad has so many different pretty designs that can be used for cards all year round (many for Valentine’s Day but not necessarily for just Valentine’s Day).

I love the elegance of the Gabriella lace and topped the lace off with a  piece of chevron grosgrain ribbon from the Coffee & Tea Ribbon Sampler.

I also love that the verses from the He Has Risen stamp set can be displayed year round as well as at Easter.

It is hard to see the shimmer on the floral image from the clear glitter marker and I finished off the card with a few pearls.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy participating with online challenges and was inspired by the Tic-Tac-Toe #194 Featured Designer Joanne Challenge  (diagonal from far left Ribbon/Bow- Flowers- Designer Paper) for this card.

I am also linking to the Krafty Chicks Challenge #648 All Occasions Challenge (Easter) and the Word Art Wednesday #579-#580 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

Cast Your Cares

Hi Friends!

This week on the Stamp Simply blog, the Design Team has been sharing sympathy/encouragement cards.

Unfortunately, it seems as though I have been mailing quite a few of these type of cards lately.  We have lost almost 30 people in our church this past year (including my beloved hubby) not to mention there has been a lot of illness/surgeries, etc.  Our church has approx. 700 in attendance and around 20% are over 60. They say that you reach a certain point when you have more friends in heaven than on earth.  I am not there yet but getting closer....

When I send a sympathy, get well or encouragement card, I tend to prefer to use Scripture on the front so that the recipient has the option to display the card year round (if they desire to do so).  This card was for good friend of mine who lost her mother.

I pulled out stamps and dies along with other supplies from Stamp Simply for this poppy card.

I enjoy participating with online challenges and will be linking to the Festive Friday #FF0126 Wear Red Day Challenge (Red, Ribbon and Texture) along with the Tic-Tac-Toe #193 Featured Designer Silke Challenge (center row down- Flower, Vintage and Ribbon) and the Word Art Wednesday #579-#580 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

This card incorporates several layering steps including a bit of water coloring.

The poppy flower image was stamped with black ink, colored with water-based markers and die-cut with their coordinating die.

The large script stamp from the Pretty Poppies Bundle was heat embossed using Versamark ink and white embossing powder onto white cardstock (it is hard to see this in the photo but it is on the flat panel in the upper area behind the flowers).

Another piece of white cardstock was dry embossed with a 3D brick embossing folder, the edges were torn before layering the panel onto the heat embossed background panel.

Lace and ribbon were layered before adding the heat embossed sentiment and floral image.

As I mentioned in my previous post regarding any of the techniques, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comment area below.

TCC187 May the God of Hope

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #187 {Winter Cocoa} or {Winter Snow} Challenge at The Card Concept!  We are a bi-weekly challenge and the second challenge of every month, we offer two inspiration photos vs one.

I was inspired by the #187b {Winter Snow} Challenge- the colors as well as the greenery.  I pulled out a few stamp sets, dies as well as paper and other supplies from Stamp Simply to create a card that could be used for Christmas or possibly an encouragement/get well card.

As many of you who follow my blog also know, I enjoy participating with other online challenges. I know how much work goes into maintaining a challenge blog and want to give them support.

I will be linking this card to one of my favorite card challenge sites- the Word Art Wednesday #579-#580 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

I hope you will have a chance to check out the rest of the Design Team cards at The Card Concept- we would love to have you participate with us!

This card incorporates heat embossing, die cutting and layering.  A simple card and relatively flat for mailing.

Stamp Sets: A Godly Man Bundle, Wonder of Christmas Sentiments (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark

Cardstock/Paper: White, Black, Echo Park Little Lumber Jack 6x6 Paper Pad

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Steel Dies- A Godly Man Buck, Two Sprigs; Spellbinders Nestabilities- Standard Ovals LG, Fig Seam Binding, Kaisercraft Self Adhesive Pearls- Pearls

FYI- In the past, I have provided detailed every step of creating my cards on my blog (over 2000 posts).  When I first created my blog in 2012, there were many who were new to stamping so I felt the need to explain each step.  It is taking me longer to create my blog posts now with all of the detail than to design the cards, lol!  Since my hubby passed away, I do not have as much spare time as in the past.

Due to this, I plan to post a summary of the steps going forward to save time.  If you ever have any questions on a technique, please ask in the comments and I will explain in greater detail.

Thanks for understanding and taking the time to visit! I hope you are inspired to create a card and join us for our #187 {Winter Cocoa} or {Winter Snow} Challenge at The Card Concept!

Life is Better Together

Hi Friends!

This week on the Stamp Simply blog, we are sharing Wedding, Anniversary or Valentine cards.

Valentine’s Day is almost upon us and since I do not mail Valentine cards, I decided to create a simple Anniversary card using a cut-a-part image and background paper from the new Carta Bella My Valentine 6x6 paper pad.

Check out all of the wonderful items for any type of love card needed from Stamp Simply!

I enjoy participating with online challenges and will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #577-#578 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the Stamp Simply blog yet, I hope you will take the time to visit.  Wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!

To create this card:

Dry emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Darice Wire Fence embossing folder.  Trim the panel to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.

Mount the gingham patterned paper from the Carta Bella My Valentine 6 x 6 paper pad onto espresso cardstock.

Add the .75 Venise White Lucua Lace  onto the back of the gingham panel.  Mount the entire panel onto the dry embossed background and adhere to the espresso 4 ¼” x 5 ½” card base.

Cut the image from the My Valentine 6x6 paper pad, mount onto espresso cardstock.  Adhere to the card front with dimensional foam.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment from the All Occasions Sentiment Set 1 using Versafine Black Onyx ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

After the embossing cooled, die cut with the Fishtail Sentiment Banner Dies and layer with another die from espresso cardstock (cut with the same die, split in half and allowing just the ends to “peek” out).

Adhere the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Die cut the little heart from the polka dot patterned paper from the My Valentine 6 x 6 paper pad with the Farmhouse Pierced Nested Hearts die

Adhere the heart to the card front and finish off with a pearl.

Stamp Sets: All Occasion Sentiments Set 1 (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper: White, Espresso, My Valentine 6 x 6 Paper Pad (Carta Bella)

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Steel Dies- Fishtail Sentiment Banners, Farmhouse Pierced Nested Hearts; Darice Wire Fence Embossing Folder, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, .75 Venise Lace- Lucia – 1 yd white, Kaisercraft Self-Adhesive Pearls-Pearl

TCC186 Trust in the Lord

Hi Friends!

Happy New Year!  I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year Holiday!

We are back from our Christmas break with our new challenges at The Card Concept starting with the #186 {Holiday Gatherings} Challenge!

Isn’t this a pretty tablescape?  I was inspired by the colors and textures to create a Shabby Chic and Vintage card and pulled out one of my favorite Scripture stamp sets, Words of Encouragement from Stamp Simply (I love the fonts on this set as well as the companion set, Fear Not).

I also enjoy playing along with other online challenges and will be linking this card to the A Place to Start January 2023 “Anything Goes” Challenge and the Make My Monday #191 “Something New” Challenge (the Craft Consortium “Tell The Bees” paper is new to me).

If you have not had a chance to visit our Design Team/gallery at The Card Concept Challenge, or the other challenge sites yet,  I hope you will find time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Heat emboss the sentiment from the
Words of Encouragement clear stamp set (Stamp Simply) using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossing powder.

Die cut and emboss the sentiment with the Spellbinders Elegant Ovals Dies.

Distress a piece of the Tell the Bees Special Edition 6x6 Paper (Craft Consortium) with a distressing tool (or the edge of your scissor blade).  Lightly adhere to a piece of black cardstock and sew a zigzag stitch along the edge.

Wrap a piece of gold seam binding over the seam of the designer papers, wrap the ends of the ribbon behind the panel.

Add a piece of Valentina lace over the edge of the ribbon.

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

Adhere the die cut sentiment with dimensional foam.

Add the seam binding bow and pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Words of Encouragement (Stamp Simply)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black

Cardstock/Paper: Ivory, Black, Craft Consortium Tell the Bees (Special Edition) 6x6 Paper Pad

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Spellbinders Elegant Ovals Dies, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, Sewing Machine, White Thread, 1.75” Valentina Lace- Ivory, Kaisercraft Self-Adhesive Pearls-Pearl

I hope you have a chance to create a card and join us for our #186 {Holiday Gatherings} Challenge at The Card Concept!
