TCC194 Create in Me

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our #194 {Spring Bouquet} Challenge at The Card Concept! The Card Concept is a bi-weekly photo inspiration challenge.  We would love for you to create a card based on our inspiration photo and join us!

Isn’t this a beautiful spring table setting? I was inspired by the soft pinks, blues, textures of the flowers/nests and silver accents for my Shabby and Vintage Mixed Media card.

Those of you who follow my blog know that I enjoy participating with other online challenges.  I know how much work goes into maintaining a challenge blog and want to give them support as well as enjoy seeing all of their Design Team creations and galleries :-)

I will be linking this card to the As You Like It “Favorite Flower (and Why) Challenge (I like tulips, they are a sign of spring and one of my Mother’s favorites as well) along with the Tic Tac Toe #226 Featured Designer Elizabeth’s Challenge (left column down- Flowers, Embossing, Encouragement) and the Word Art Wednesday #593-#594 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the DT as well as the other challenge sites.

This card was fun and fairly easy to make.

Trim a piece of the pale pink designer paper from the Echo Park My Favorite Spring 6x6 Paper Pad to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  Emboss with the Darice Vine Pattern Embossing Folder.

Apply Frost White Shimmer Paint over the entire surface (I used an AquaPainter) and distress the edges with scissors and/or a distressing tool.

Tear a piece of the blue gingham patterned paper (from the My Favorite Spring Pad).

De-static the lower right hand area, stamp the sentiment from Words of Encouragement with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Distress the edges and add to the embossed pink background panel.  Mount the layered background panel onto a piece of white cardstock (trimming close to the edge).

Adhere a piece of white Venise Lucia .75” lace and blue seam binding (wrapping the ends of the seam binding behind the panel).

Mount onto a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of the baby blue designer paper and adhere to a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the tulip image from Get Well Tulip Bundle with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Color the tulip with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die (also cutting two additional tulips from white cardstock to layer behind the stamped image).

Add a looped piece of silver metallic string to the card front and mount the tulip with dimensional foam.

Die cut a piece of lace from white cardstock using the Tim Holtz Crochet Die and add a piece to the upper left hand corner.

Finish off the card with a few pearls in the upper right hand corner.

A spring time card for Mother’s Day, encouragement or “just because”.

Stamp Sets:  Get Well Tulip Bundle, Words of Encouragement (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black; Stampin’ Write Markers- Powder Oink, Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Granny Apple Green, Lemonlime Twist

Stamp Simply April 2023 New Release- In God We Trust

Hi Friends!

This week we are celebrating a few new stamp sets/bundles in the April 2023 Patriotic Release at Stamp Simply

I absolutely love the images in the stamp sets of the new release, don’t you?  The flying eagle and star along with the patriotic sentiments are perfect for cards all year round- Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, 4th of July, Summer, and if course, just because.

I paired the stamps with the Echo Park Let Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad.

If you have not had a chance to check out the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team , I hope you will take the time to do so- fabulous  inspiration from all!

To create my first card:

Trim the fireworks pattern of the
Let Freedom Ring paper to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  Mount onto navy cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Layer the Let Freedom Ring red striped pattern (approx. 1 ¼” strip) onto navy cardstock.  Cut the layered piece into three pieces.

Add to the background along the edges, use a piercing tool to create holes for the gold brads and insert the brads.

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the star image from the The American Eagle Bundle with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Color the stars with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.

Follow the same steps above and stamp the sentiment from the The American Eagle Bundle, die cut with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies and color with water-based markers.

Mount onto designer paper (also die cut with the Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies) before adding the sentiment directly to the card front.

Add the die cut stars with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

My second card also features the new The American Eagle Bundle, the new The Pledge of Allegiance stamp set and the flag image from The Red, White and Blue Bundle.  I also used the same Let Freedom Ring 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park and the same sentiment layered as in the first card.

The The American Eagle image and the flag were stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Watercolor pencils and water-based markers were used to color both images.

The new The Pledge of Allegiance stamp set was inked with water-based markers in red and blue to stamp the background panel.

Once stamped in a staggered pattern, a piece of vellum was layered over the background and three gold mini brads were used to adhere the right hand side of the panel.

The sentiment was added with dimensional foam before adding the vertical strips of designer paper strips (from the Let Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad).

The background panel was adhered to navy cardstock, before adhering it to a white card base.

The die cut flag was added directly to the card front and the eagle was mounted using dimensional foam.

Stamp Sets: The American Eagle Bundle, The Pledge of Allegiance, The Red, White & Blue Bundle (Stamp Simply)

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Water-based Markers- Red, Blue; Watercolor Pencils- Red, Blue, Black

Cardstock/Paper:  White, Navy, Vellum; Let Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad by Echo Park

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., Stamp Simply Dies- The American Eagle Bundle, The Red, White & Blue Bundle, Fishtail Sentiment Banners,  Embossing Powder Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Gold Mini Brads (from my stash)

Well Groomed Sympathy- Love Changes Everything

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a quick pet sympathy card designed with the Graphic 45 Well Groomed 8x8 paper pad along with stamps and other supplies, all  from Stamp Simply.

The Graphic 45 Well Groomed pad is perfect for any dog or cat lover- whether it be sympathy, thank you or just because cards/mini albums, etc.  The bright colors and fun patterns as well as the neutral patterns are gorgeous and can coordinate with other Graphic 45 papers.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and I will be playing along with the Word Art Wednesday #591- #592 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team or the Word Art Wednesday Challenge site, I hope you will take the time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

This card was another fairly quick one to create (lately, I have been so busy I am trying to design easier cards that are flatter for mailing).

Trim two of the patterns of the 8x8 Well Groomed paper to approx. 4” x 2 ½”, distress the edges with scissors (or a distressing tool).

Adhere to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of black cardstock and add a piece of the ivory Gabriella lace to cover the seams.

Die cut a heart using the Farmhouse Pierced Nesting Hearts Die from white cardstock, de-static the upper left portion of the heart and stamp the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Repeat the embossing steps above with the pet sympathy sentiment and set aside.

“Age” the paper using Antique Linen and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink, gently wiping the ink off the embossed sentiments.

Using one of the cut-a-parts from the Well Groomed paper pad, mount onto black cardstock, round the edges and add the pet sympathy sentiment onto the lower part of the image (covering up the words on the cut-apart) and rounding the edges.

Adhere the heart directly to the upper background. Cut a small piece of the border to add the upper right hand area of the heart.

Add the dog image/pet sympathy rectangle with dimensional foam and finish off the card with a few black rhinestones.

The Lord is My Light

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing an easy card designed with the He is the Light clear stamp set, Craft Consortium Ink Drops Ocean 6x6 paper along with dies and other supplies, all from Stamp Simply

I absolutely love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops paper and the Ocean pad is one of my favs (FYI- I do own alcohol inks but this paper makes it so easy to create cards without all of the mess of the inks)!

I also love the Heis the Light Bundle- the lighthouse, other images and sentiments are perfect for masculine cards as well as summer cards for everyone.  Plus the coordinating dies make it so easy to die cut those beautiful images!

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and I will be linking this card to the Word Art Wednesday #591- #592 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team or the Word Art Wednesday Challenge site, I hope you will take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

The background is a piece of the Oceans Ink Drops paper trimmed to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a white card base.

Add a piece of cheesecloth on an angle to the card front.

Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the lighthouse with the coordinating die (die-cutting an additional plain one from white cardstock) and the sentiment using one of the banners from the FishtailSentiment Banner Dies.

Trim the sentiment banner and adhere directly to the card base.  Add a few aqua rhinestones to the top of the banner.

Summer Roses Sympathy

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing another sympathy card designed with stamps, dies, paper and other supplies from Stamp Simply

Unfortunately, it seems as though I am needing more sympathy cards than ever before.  As we get older, this is normally the case....

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and I decided to incorporate the As You See It #AYSI296 “Balance” Challenge for the layout and will also be linking to the Word Art Wednesday #591- #592 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out the inspiration from the Stamp Simply Design Team or the other challenge sites, I hope you will take the time to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

This card was another fairly quick one to create (lately, I have been so busy I am trying to design easier cards that are flatter for mailing).

The 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock for the background was embossed using the Lace embossing folder before trimming and adhering to a piece of black cardstock.

The two rectangle panels (per the sketch) were created with two different patterns from the Candy Ink Drops 6x6 paper (cut to approx. 2” x 3 ¾” and mounted onto black cardstock, trimming close to the edges).

The two panels were overlapped onto the embossed background and the background panel was adhered to a white card base.

The floral image and the “Thinking of You” sentiment from the  Floral Clusters Summer Roses stamp set were stamped onto white cardstock with Versafine Black Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

The sentiment was die cut with an oval die and mounted onto a black oval (also cut with the same size die).

The floral image was colored with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.

Mount the floral image die cut onto a plain white die cut (to give the image more stability) and adhere to the card front with dimensional foam.

The “sympathy” sentiment from the Floral Clusters Summer Roses stamp set was stamped using Versamark ink onto black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Once cooled it was die cut with the Farmhouse Sentiment Banners Dies.

The oval and banner sentiment were layered together before adding to the card front with dimensional foam.

The floral image was added as well with dimensional foam and the card as finished off with a few pearls.

Stamp Sets:   Floral Cluster Summer Roses  (Stamp Simply)

Inks/Mediums:  Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark, Stampin’ Write Markers- Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Evergreen Envy
