Give Thanks Bookmark Set

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing bookmarks.  Bookmarks make great gifts along with a book or you can also use them as tags.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

I love creating fall cards and decided to pull out the Give Thanks stamp set, pair it with the Craft Consortium Brick Textures 6x6 Paper Pad and the Tim Holtz Tag Collection dies to make a few fall bookmarks.

To create this set of bookmarks:

Trim three pieces of black cardstock to 2 ¼” x 11”.

Place the Tim Holtz medium tag die onto the cardstock and allow a bit of the bottom of the die to be outside of the cutting plates before running the die through the machine.

Trim the edges of the tag/bookmark to match the die cut edges.

De-static the lower part of the designer paper with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment from Give Thanks with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the leaf image from the Give Thanks stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image using water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.

Cut two additional leaves from white cardstock, layer behind the colored image.

Mount the leaves onto the bookmarks with dimensional foam,

Add a looped piece of the beige striped ribbon and tie with a piece of linen thread to finish off the bookmarks.

Sunflower Season

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing stemmed floral cards.   I love the stem florals that we have at Stamp Simply, especially the Sunflower Seasons Bundle for fall cards.

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- absolutely gorgeous inspiration from all!

I decided to pair the Sunflower Seasons Bundle with a bit of stenciling and a scrap piece of Welcome Autumn Carta Bella paper.

To create this Mixed Media card:

Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4” x 5 ¼”.  Using the Tim Holtz Ironwork Stencil along with a stencil brush, apply Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink.

Once the ink has been applied, use a water brush with Frost White Shimmer Paint and apply shimmer to the stenciled areas.

De-static the lower right hand corner with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Add the white die cut crochet lace to the card front.

Trim a piece of the sage gingham designer paper, mount onto black cardstock and mount onto the card front.

Wrap several pieces of linen thread over the designer paper panel, wrapping the ends behind the front panel.

Adhere the entire card front to a white card base.

De-static a piece of black cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the sentiment from Sunflower Seasons with Versamark, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiments Banners Die.  Mount onto the card front with dimensional foam.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sunflower image with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color the image with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating die.

Also die cut two additional sunflowers from white cardstock, layer behind the colored image.

Mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be joining the Word Art Wednesday #609-#610 “Anything Goes” Challenge along with the Double D "Sunflowers" Challenge.

He Is My Light

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Stamp Simply Design Team have been sharing lighthouse/nautical cards.

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

I love the Craft Consortium Ink Drops- Ocean 6x6 paper for lighthouse cards since the papers look so much like water!

I paired a piece of the paper along with the He Is The Light stamp set for a quick and easy card.

To create this card:

Trim a piece of the Ocean Ink Drops paper to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”.  De-static the upper left hand corner with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment from He Is The Light with Versamark ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and mount onto the white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the lighthouse image from He Is The Light with Versafine Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder an heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color with water-based markers and die cut with the coordinating dieDie cut a few extra lighthouse images to layer behind the main image (this creates a thicker image for mounting).

Add a piece of cheesecloth to the card front and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

As those of you who follow my blog, I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be joining the Word Art Wednesday #607-#608 "Anything Goes" Challenge.

In All Things, Give Thanks

Hi Friends!

This week at the Stamp Simply blog, the Design Team have been sharing a variety of beautiful fall/autumn cards.

Again, if you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

I decided to create a fall card using the Tim Holtz Fall Foliage Thinlits Dies along with the Welcome Fall stamp set and the Craft Consortium Sunset Ink Drops 6x6 Paper Pad.

This paper has such great colors and textures- perfect for fall leaves and you do not need to watercolor!  Easy, peasy.

Die cut various leaves from a piece of the Sunset Ink Drops 6x6 Paper using the different dies from the Tim Holtz Fall Foliage Thinlits set. Crumple gently by hand and set aside.

Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Sizzix 3D Texture Fades A6 Foliage embossing folder. Trim and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim again and mount onto a piece of the Craft Consortium Sunset 6x6 paper.  FYI- I used same piece of paper that I had used to die cut all of the leaves as the final background panel of the main card front, love it when that happens!

Trim a piece of black cardstock for the horizontal panel.

De-static the horizontal panel with an embossing powder tool, ink the verse sentiment from the Welcome Fall stamp set with Versamark, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Layer the horizontal panel onto the card front, add the die cut leaves tucking a few around the edge of the panel.

Use a water brush with frost white shimmer paint to add shimmer to the leaves and finish off the card with orange rhinestones.

I enjoy playing along with online challenges and will be joining the Double D Challenges "Collaboration with Altenew Stencils/Anything Goes Challenge and the Can You Handle the Pressure? "Anything Goes Embossing with a twist of Nautical Challenge.
