SC122 Love You

Hi Friends!!

Woohoo!! I am a Guest Designer for the Stampin’ Celebration SC122 Photo Inspiration Challenge and I decided to create a Mixed Media card using the colors and the heart theme.

I hope you have a chance to visit the gallery at Stampin’ Celebration and check out the rest of the Design Team samples as well as the designs from the other two challenge sites- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Apply Gesso® to a piece of Whisper White cardstock (I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had printed some Scripture from Psalms and decided that I was unhappy with my Bible Journaling on that page, so I cut the paper into A2 size panels and this is one of those panels).

Once the gesso has dried, apply Gelatos®- I used a blue metallic, light blue and metallic pink (sorry, the colors were not printed on the outside and I neglected to note them before discarding the packaging- oops!).

Spread the Gelatos® with your finger (I used a dry paper towel), spritz with water and allow the colors to merge and drip down the paper.

Dab the colors with a paper towel, re-apply, spritz again and dry with the Heat Tool.

Add Ranger® Tim Holtz® Worn Lipstick Distress Stain, spritz and dry with the Heat Tool.

Once you are satisfied with the color (I ended up doing several layers), use a Sponge Dauber to apply Melon Mambo Classic Ink over the Memory Box™ Texture Flourish Stencil, trim the panel, mount onto a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, trim again and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Here is the background before adding the die cut heart :-)
Adhere a strip of Basic Black cardstock across the upper portion of the panel, add the Basic Black paper bow and Antique Brad.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits™ (Stampin’ Up!) to cut a heart from Whisper White cardstock and a few of the flowers from Melon Mambo cardstock.

Also, from the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits ™ cut two of the large flowers and three of the smaller flowers from Whisper White cardstock.

Mount the Whisper White Bloomin’ Heart die cut to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the Melon Mambo flowers to the Bloomin’ Heart die with with Stampin’ Dimensionals® as well.
Add Pearls for the centers of the flowers and the heat embossed sentiment banner to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Express Yourself (retired Stampin’ Up! Hostess Set)

Ink: Versamark™, Melon Mambo; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Worn Lipstick Distress Stain; Gelatos®

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo

Accessories: Gesso®, Big Shot™,  Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits™, Texture Flourish Stencil (MB), Pearls, Punches-Bow Builder,  Hexagon; Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Winter White Embossing Powder (retired), Heat Tool

Ink the butterfly using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, color with the Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Add the butterfly to the card front (I used Hot Glue for this step and part of a dimensional behind the butterfly).

Hi Again Stampers!!

Having fun with designing and this card was created using the Splitcoaststampers’CC538 Color Challenge (even included the "dessert" element  of  Stripes :-))  along with the CAS338 “Cute Critters” Challenge and since it is a Christmas card, one of my August designs for the CCC15 Christmas Card Challenge.

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above links to check out their fantastic galleries!

To create this card:

Ink the House Mouse Ski Run image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color the image using an AquaPainter™ with Melon Mambo Classic Ink for the scarf, Island Indigo Classic Ink for the snow and a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker for the mouse as well as the shadows.

Stamp the sentiment from Wondrous Wreath using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink, add a few shadows to the letters with the Sahara Sand marker and add a bit of splatter with the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Island Indigo Classic Ink (stamping off before stamping onto the panel).

Cut the image out with the Big Shot™ and the smallest Envelope Liner Framelit™  (also cutting the liner from Melon Mambo cardstock as well- splitting this piece in half).

Mount the focal image onto the split Melon Mambo die cut piece to create a tag, mount the “tag” using Stampin’ Dimensionals® onto the embossed Island  Indigo cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Melon  Mambo cardstock, trim once more and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

SUO129 Awesomely Artistic Dragonfly Summer

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for the new SUO129 “Cards without Words” Challenge-create a card without a sentiment on the front that could be used for a note...

I decided to pull out two of my favorite new sets, Awesomely Artistic and Butterfly Basics along with the CCMC368 Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge.

I hope you will have a chance to check out my sister Design Team member samples- we are welcoming Cindee Wilkinson to the SUO Challenges team this week- woohoo!!

Also, I hope you will find time to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site- they always have fabulous inspiration as well!

This card was fairly simple to create:

Ink the fern image from Butterfly Basics using Cucumber Crush Classic Ink and stamp repeatedly onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Ink the splatter image from Awesomely Artistic using Tangerine Tango Classic Ink and add a bit of splatter around the panel.

Ink the dragonfly image using Pacific Point Classic Ink and stamp one image onto the main panel and three images onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock.

“Fussy-cut” two of the dragonflies completely and add to the card panel.

“Fussy-cut” just the wings of the third dragonfly and add to the stamped dragonfly on the panel, apply Two-Way Glue to the wings of all three dragonflies and Dazzling  Diamond glitter.

Stamp the border image from Awesomely Artistic using Pacific Point  Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock and add a scrap strip of Tangerine Tango cardstock to the center.

Trim the entire  panel and mount onto Pacific Point cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Use a Sponge Dauber to apply a bit of Cucumber Crush Classic Ink around the ferns.

Create a bow using the Bow Builder Punch from Tangerine Tango cardstock, adhere to the card front and add the Antique Brad to the center to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:  Awesomely Artistic, Butterfly Basics
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Tangerine Tango
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango

Get Well Wishes for a Color, Sketch and Inspiration Challenge :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to stamp in the wee hours this morning and decided to create a card using the Pals Paper Arts PPA262 Color Challenge along with the Just Add Ink JAI274 Inspiration Photo  (I was inspired by the natural elements along with the contrast and bit of green).

I  also used the FMS198 Sketch Challenge for the layout (but I am too late to link to the actual challenge at FMS :-)).

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as their fabulous galleries!

This card was fairly easy to create- use a Sponge Dauber to sponge Pool Party and Mint Macaron Classic Ink onto a Chalk Talk label created from Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the goose image using  Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto another piece of Whisper White cardstock, color with Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink and Stampin’ Write Markers, fussy cut out the goose and ink the grass only from the goose stamp using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker onto the sponged tag.

Adhere the goose image using Stampin' Dimensionals® onto the tag, layer another Chalk Tag tag from Basic Black cardstock behind the  focal image tag and add the additional white layered tag per the sketch.

Add  a few strips of Basic Black cardstock (I used scraps and punched the ends with the Hexagon Punch) onto the embossed Tip Top Taupe background panel, trim and mount onto Mint  Macaron, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card front.

Use the Bow Builder Punch to create a bow from Basic Black cardstock bow, add to the tag along with a retired Pool Party button.

Mount the layered tags to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals® and the sentiment to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Wetlands, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Mint Macaron, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe; Stampin’ Write Marker- Tip Top Taupe, Basic Black

Paper: Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Basic Black, Whisper White

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chalk Talk Framelits™, Boho Chic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Punches- Bow Builder, Hexagon;  retired Pool Party Sycamore Street button

Thanks again for visiting- I hope all of you have a terrific Tuesday!!

Nautical Mixed Media Thinking of You

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you are having a great day!   We had a wonderful time in worship this morning and I had a chance to create a card this afternoon using the Pals Paper Arts PPA259 Color Challenge along with the Splitcoaststampers' Mix-Ability MIX127 "Red, White and Blue" Challenge (see details here and gallery here), the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSSIC215 Inspiration Challenge as well as the TGIF Challenge! TGI11 Sketch and the Addicted to Stamps and More #152 “Make Your Mark” Challenge (the last two are "new" challenge sites for me :-)).

Again, if you have not visited the challenge sites yet, I hope you will find time to do so- terrific Design Team designs and as well as their galleries!!

To create this Mixed Media card:

Use Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Stain to tone down the Pacific Point striped Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the retired High Tide.

Using a sewing machine, stitch the panel onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and distress the edges with the retired Distressing Tool.

Adhere the distressed panel to a piece of Real Red  cardstock and mount onto the Pacific Point card base.

Create a tag from Whisper White cardstock (approx. 1 ¾” wide) and stamp the coral, seahorse and Nantucket images from By The Tide using Pacific Point Classic Ink.

Ink the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with Pacific Point Classic Ink, stamp off onto scratch paper and stamp onto the tag.

Stamp the script image repeatedly using Real Red Classic Ink, create the top of the tag with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock (also using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch to create the top of the tag).

Stamp the coral image using Pacific Point onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, punch out the image using the 2 ½” Circle Punch and mount another 2 ½” Circle of Real Red cardstock behind the coral image and adhere this element onto the card front per the sketch.

Mount the tag to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® and add the Real Red paper bow (created with the Bow Builder Punch) along with the retired silver Star Brad.

Stamp the lobster image using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, color using an AquaPainter™ with Real Red Classic Ink pad and the Stampin’ Write Real Red marker and carefully “fussy-cut” out the image.

Use the Big Shot™  to cut the anchor die cut from Silver Foil and add the Natural Linen Thread “rope”- adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and a Mini Glue Dot (under the bow).

De-static a piece of Pacific Point cardstock using the Embossing Buddy and stamp the sentiment from Wetlands with Versamark™ ink.  Apply Stampin’ Emboss White Embossing Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Trim the sentiment, create the banner points with the Hexagon Punch, mount onto a piece of Silver Foil, trim and create the banner points again using the Hexagon Punch and repeat the above steps once more with Real Red cardstock.

Mount the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® on the left hand side and regular adhesive flush with the tag on the right.

Add the lobster to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: By The Tide, Wetlands, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Versamark™, Pacific Point, Real Red; Stampin’ Write Markers- Real Red; Ranger® Tim Holtz® Picket Fence Distress Stain

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Silver Foil; retired High Tide DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Anchor Die (not sure of manufacturer), Punches- Bow Builder, Hexagon, 2 ½” Circle; Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, retired silver Star Brad, Natural Linen Thread, retired Distressing Tool,  sewing machine, white thread

Happy Birthday- Summer Silhouette Style :-)

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to share another card that I created last night for the CCMC362 Color Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary along with the Seize the Birthday 07/02/15 "Red, White and Blue" Challenge ( Lost Lagoon is sort of blue…but you do not have to do the “topping option” as long as it is a Birthday card) along with the Splitcoaststampers CAS326 Wildflowers Challenge (see details here and gallery here)   :-)

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above challenge sites to check out the Design Team samples as well as their galleries- fabulous inspiration from all!

This was a nother quick, easy card to create :-) :

Ink the floral stems and leaves with Lost Lagoon Classic Ink and stamp onto Crumb Cake cardstock, add the flower tops with Real Red Classic Ink and add a few highlights with the Gel Pen.

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment using Real Red Classic Ink onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Real Red card base.

Stamp the lattice border using Real Red Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a scrap piece of Real Red cardstock.

Mount the focal image to the card front and add the lattice border layer.

Create a Real Red cardstock bow using the Bow Builder Punch and adhere the Antique Brad to the center (I remove the brad points and use adhesive to adhere the brad to the bow).

Mount the bow to the card front to finish off the card.

Not sure if I am pleased with this card- it feels like something is missing,- maybe I will add some Pearls before I mail this one :-)

Stamp Sets: Summer Silhouettes, Butterfly Basics

Ink: Lost Lagoon, Real Red; White Gel Pen

Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Real Red

Accessories: Bow Builder Punch, Antique Brads

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you all have a marvelous Monday!!

Hi Again Stampers!!

This card was created for the Splitcoaststampers’ Virtual Stamp Night JUN15VSNI “Happy Together” Challenge (see details here and gallery here) using the CC535 Color Challenge- Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry with dessert to add a punched or die cut element  (see details here and gallery here) as well as the SC540 Sketch Challenge (see details here and gallery here).

Woohoo!!  I was able to incorporate all of the nine elements for this “recipe” challenge and pulled out one of my favorite retired stamp sets, Betsy the Beekeeper (just love this gal with her honey hive and jars :-)).

Again, if you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit the above sites to check out the wonderful Design Team samples as well as the galleries!

To create this card:

Ink the retired stamp image, Betsy the Beekeeper using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Using an AquaPainter™, apply Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink to her dress and use Stampin’ Write Markers-  Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Sahara Sand  (for shadows) to finish coloring the image.

Use a sponge dauber with the Mini Punchenella stencil by Balzar Designs to add Daffofil Delight with the Honeycomb portion of the stencil to the background.

Trim the image and mount onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.
Trim a piece of retired International Bazaar Designer Series Paper (DSP) and mount onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Create the Whisper White square card base and adhere a piece of retired Rich Razzleberry DSP (solid color from a retired Hostess Level I selection years ago) and add the 5 ¼”  x 5 ¼” square of  retired Beyond the Garden DSP.

Adhere a paper doily to the background (I used a Royal Lace 6” diameter doily from my stash) and add the DSP on an angle per the sketch.

Add a few pieces of Rich Razzleberry ¼” Grosgrain Ribbon loops to the side of the focal image and adhere the Bermuda Bay Sequins (cut from the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim) to the side of the card near the ribbon and add the Pink Rhinestones to the centers of the sequins as well as the flowers on her dress (the pink rhinestones were from a retired Stampin’ Up!  Flower cardstock sticker pack- sorry, I do not recall the name:-)).

Add the focal image to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals® and adhere the Rich Razzleberry bow (created with the Bow Builder Punch) along with the retired Daffodil Delight button.

Close up of Betsy the Beekeeper :-)
Stamp the sentiment with using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use the retired Word Window Punch to punch out the sentiment, create the banner points using the Banner Punch and adhere to a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock (also creating banner points with the Banner Punch).

Mount the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals® to finish off the card.
