TCC75 A Friend Loveth At All Times

Hi Friends!

It’s time for The Card Concept #75 “Boldly Graphic” Challenge!  I love this gorgeous inspiration photo that Lesley chose for the challenge and was inspired by the pink flowers as well as the black and white patterned chairs!

I decided to create a Clean and Graphic/Mixed Media card using the Peaceful Peonies Clear Stamp Set (NinaB Designs) from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

Again, if you have not had a chance to visit the challenge sites or SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the floral image from Peaceful Peonies Clear Stamp Set using embossing ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat emboss with black embossing powder.  Once the embossing has cooled, use a water brush to watercolor the image with dye based ink and water-based markers (Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo- all Stampin’ Up!). Fussy-cut the image and set aside.

2). Create a watercolor wash for the background on a piece of white cardstock with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Hickory Smoke Distress Stains and add a few splatters with diluted Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

3). Stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Peonies Clear Stamp Set with archival black ink onto the panel, trim the panel and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

4). Trim a piece of white cardstock, layer onto the black card front and mount onto the white card base.  Add the layered black and white designer paper (from my stash) and mount the water-colored panel with dimensional foam.

5). Adhere the fussy-cut flower to the card front and use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals along with a Sharpie® Extra Fine White Paint Pen to add highlights to the flower center.

6). Add a few Gloss Black Nuvo Crystal Drops to finish off the card .

Thanks again for stopping by!  If you have able to join us, we would love to see your artwork in our gallery at The CardConcept!  Hugs and I hope all of you have a fabulous week!

In His Word- A Graphic Quilt Card for Two Challenges :-)

Hi Stampers!

I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend!  I had a chance to design a few more cards this evening and wanted to share a card that I created using the CMCC71 Colour Me…! Challenge along with the FabFri64 Sketch Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to do so, I hope you will find the time to visit the challenge sites- they have wonderful Design Team samples as well as fabulous inspiration from their galleries!

To create this quick, easy Clean and Graphic card:

Use the Big Shot™ with the WPlus9 Design Studio, LLC Quilt Cuts 2 Die to cut the “quilt” from Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo cardstock.

Assemble the quilt onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere the quilt square on an angle.

Emboss a piece of retired Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and adhere to a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Trim a piece of Basic Black cardstock, mount onto the Whisper White card base and add a panel of Whisper White cardstock to the background.

Adhere the embossed Melon Mambo panel to the card front and mount the quilt focal image panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Add the Pearl to the center of the quilt to finish off the card.

Stamps:  Scripture Collection 9 (Our Daily Bread Designs)

Ink: Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, retired Melon Mambo DSP

Accessories: Big Shot™, Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, WPlus9 Design Studio Quilt Cuts 2 Die, Pearl

Thanks again for stopping by- I will be sharing one more quick, easy card shortly :-)
