DD89 Soft & Subtle Birthday

Hi Stampers!

This week’s DD89 “Subtly Yours” Dynamic Duo Challenge combines the new In-Color Pistachio Pudding with Blushing Bride.  Such a soft, pretty color combination reminds me of spring and with the crazy weather this past week, we could use a bit of spring :-)

I decided to include chevrons for this birthday card and participate in the Seize the Birthday "Chevrons and Birthday" challenge as well (if you have not already done so, click here to check out their Design Team and entries) :-)

Again, I hope that you will find the time to stop by and check out the rest of the Dynamic Duos Design Team projects and create one of your own using this week’s colors - we would love to have you join us!!

To create this card:

Using the hostess set, Simply Sketched, stamp the floral image with Basic Black Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and color with Stampin’ Write markers- Blushing Bride for the petals and Pistachio Pudding for the stem.   Add a few shadows using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker and the highlights with the Chalk Marker.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss the image (lining up within the embossing folder).  Carefully cut out around the outside of the frame.

Mount the embossed frame onto a label created from the Deco Labels Framelits™ and the 2 ½” Circle Punch (first cut the Deco Label Framelit™ from Basic Black cardstock using the Big Shot™, cut in half vertically (through the rounded portion), split apart a bit and add the 2 ½” Circle punched from Basic Black to cover the rounded part of the Deco Label and give it a bit more width).

Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Pistachio Pudding cardstock with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Cut both pieces to position onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and mount onto the Whisper White card base (the Basic Black layer hides the Whisper White card base completely from the front).

Add ½ of a Tea Lace Paper Doily and cover the edges of the doily with a strip of Blushing Bride cardstock.  Add the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

To create the sentiment label:  Stamp the sentiment using Basic Black Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punch out with the XL Oval Punch.  Punch two additional XL Oval shapes from Basic Black cardstock, adhere the two Basic Black ovals together spreading apart a bit so that the sentiment will have a “frame” and adhere the sentiment.  Punch a piece of Basic Black cardstock using the Mosaic Punch, cut in half and add behind the sentiment layer.   Adhere the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals® on the lower portion and regular adhesive where the sentiment attaches to the Deco Label focal image (leaving room for the paper bow).

Create the paper bow- Punch two Large Ovals from Blushing Bride cardstock and use the Bone Folder to break up the fibers and curl the paper.  Adhere the two ovals in half and use a Mini Glue Dot to hold the edges of the bow, adhere to a small strip of scrap Blushing Bride cardstock.   Cut two strips of Blushing Bride cardstock for the “tails” and use the Hexagon Punch to create the points.  Add to the back of the bow and adhere the Antique Brad to the center (I cut off the brad ends before adhering to the bow).

Add the bow to the card front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Simply Sketched
Ink: Basic Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Sahara Sand; Chalk Marker
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding
Accessories: Big Shot™, Designer Frames, Beautifully Baroque and Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, Deco Label Framelits™, Punches- XL Oval, Large Oval, Mosaic, Hexagon, 2 ½” Circle, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Antique Brad

Notably Ornate- Needing Some Love :-)

Hi Again Stampers!

There was an unofficial challenge posed on Splitcoast Stampers for us to use a stamp set that we just “had to have” but have essentially neglected after purchase.  I have quite a list of stamp sets that I had to have from the catalog and one of those is Notably Ornate.

I love the style of this set, but for some reason, have not taken the time to create with it.  I decided to use the frame and oval image for this card and combined it with Artistic Etching and a few other challenges- the FMS28 Freshly Made Sketch along with the CCMC195 colors from Create with Connieand Mary.

To create this card:

Ink the frame image using Versamark™ ink onto So Saffron cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once the image has cooled, carefully cut around the edges of the frame.

Use a Versamark™ Marker to ink the edges of the oval stamp from Notably Ornate and repeat the embossing steps above.

Using Poppy Parade ink, stamp the ornate circle from Artistic Etchings onto another piece of So Saffron and the crown image in the center of the oval.

Heat emboss the Eiffel Tower from Artistic Etchings, allow to cool and emboss with the Designer Oval Frame Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder. Carefully cut around the edges of the embossing folder and the Eiffel Tower.

With the Big Shot™ emboss a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (I inked the smooth interior with Poppy Parade ink prior to embossing) and emboss a piece of Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper (retired Hostess Level I Paper Patterns Pack In Color).

Assemble the layers, add the 5/8” Basic Gray Satin Ribbon bows and Rhinestone to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Notably Ornate, Artistic Etchings, Short and Sweet

Cardstock:  Basic Gray, So Saffron, Poppy Parade

Ink: Versamark™, Poppy Parade

Accessories: Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder- Vintage Wallpaper, Designer Frame (Oval), Vintage Wallpaper,  Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Silver Embossing Powder, 5/8” Basic Gray Satin Ribbon, Rhinestone

Thanks again for visiting and all of your encouragement!  I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter week and try to find time to stamp!

Guest Designer- Sunny Challenge 33/12

Hi Stampers!

I have been invited to be a Guest Designer for this week’s SC33/12 Challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations!  If you have the time, stop by their blog and check out the inspiration from the Design Team as well as the other Guest Designers (and while you’re at it, why not join us for this challenge)?

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock with  Versamark™ ink and apply Stampin’ Emboss®  Brown Embossing Powder (retired).  Heat with the Heat Tool, let the image cool and color with Stampin’ Write Markers in Tangerine Tango and Always Artichoke.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Oval Designer Frame Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and emboss over the image.  Tear around the outside, distressing with your finger and sponge Soft Suede to gently “antique” the image.

Emboss a piece of the Mocha Morning Specialty DSP with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a piece of Sahara Sand DSP with the Herringbone Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Lightly sand both layers with the Sanding Block and lightly sponge Soft Suede ink over the layers to bring out the texture.

Distress the edges of the Mocha Morning layer and mount onto Early Espresso cardstock.

Mount the Sahara Sand layer onto Early Espresso, distress the edges of the Early Espresso with the Distressing Tool, add Sticky Strip along the bottom edge and attach the Victoria Lace Trim (ruffling as you attach it to the Sticky Strip).

Layer onto the Mocha Morning panel, add the 5/8” Early Espresso Satin Ribbon (retired) and sentiment.  Apply 2-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds to the wings of the bee, add a few pearls and the card is finished!

Stamp Sets:  Nature’s Pace, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Morning Morning DSP, Sahara Sand DSP

Ink: Versamark™, Early Espresso, Stampin’ Write Markers- Tangerint Tango, Always Artichoke

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Oval Designer Frame, Vintage Wallpaper and Herringbone, Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Brown Embossing Powder (retired), Punches- Word Window, Modern Label; Victoria Lace Trim, Pearls, Dazzling Diamonds, Sponge Dauber, Sanding Block, Distressing Tool

Best Wishes- Another Two in One!

Hi Again Stampers!

I was able to create one more card today using the colors from the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC185 Challenge along with the Stamping 411 SSC239 Sketch.  Love both of these challenge sites and their designers have created amazing projects- thanks again to both sites for all of their had work and inspiration!

Although the color combination is bright and "fruity", I decided to create a vintage card using one of may favorite stamp sets, Established Elegance.

To create this card:

Create the collage by randomly stamping the images from Established Elegance using Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait and Calypso Coral onto Very Vanilla.

Cut the focal image out using the Big Shot™ with the Framelits™ Label Collection and emboss with the Designer Label Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Use the 1” Circle Punch to punch out the three elements on the right and mount onto Lucky Limeade circles (use the 1 ¼” Circle Punch for layering).

Emboss the Lucky Limeade Designer Series Paper with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and the Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB) with the Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.  Lightly sand both panels to expose the white core and lightly sponge to “distress”.

Assemble the card, add the Lucky Limeade 1/8” Organdy Ribbon (SAB) along with the sentiment, Very Vanilla Taffeta bow, pearls and brad to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Established Elegance, Short and Sweet

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade DSP, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB)

Ink: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait

Accessories: Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Finial Press, Designer Label (Oval), Vintage Wallpaper, Framelits™ Labels Collection, Punches- Decorative Label, Word Window, Modern Label, 1” and 1 ¼” Circle, Sanding Block, Sponge Dauber, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Lucky Limeade 1/8” Organdy Ribbon (SAB), Everyday Enchantment Brad (SAB)

Old Fashioned Christmas- Three in One!

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a special Christmas card and decided to use the CCMC180 Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge along with the Hand Stamped Sentiments HSSAOFC97 Old Fashioned Christmas theme.  This card also qualifies for the Stampin’ Up! Only SUO34 Holiday Challenge- if you have time, check out all of the challenge sites (the Design Teams and other entries provide so many fabulous ideas!)

To create this card:

Stamp the chickadee image from Beautiful Season using Versamark™ ink onto Whisper White cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once the image has cooled, emboss again with the Big Shot™ and the Designer Oval Frame Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Color the image with Stampin’ Write markers in Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and use a Blender Pen with Basic Gray for the bird.  Tear around the outside edges, distress by hand and use a Sponge Dauber to apply Crumb Cake ink to the edges and over the image to “antique” the paper.

With the Big Shot™ and the Square Lattice and Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, emboss a piece of Designer Series paper for the background layer as well as the vertical layer behind the bird image (retired Deck the Halls ).  Carefully sand the background layer with the Sanding Block.

Stamp the Hello Doily background stamp using Versamark™ ink onto Always Artichoke cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Winter White Embossing Powder (retired) and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once the image has cooled, carefully cut out around the outline and cut the doily in half.

Layer the card as per the sketch, add the embossed/distressed sentiment, pearls and snowflake to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Beautiful Season, Hello Doily (background), Come to Bethlehem

Cardstock: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, retired SU! Designer Series Paper- Deck the Halls

Two Challenges, Embedded Embossing and More!

Hi Stampers!

I wanted to create a card using the colors from this week’s CCMC177 Create with Connie and Mary Challenge along with the Stamping411 SSC231 Sketch Challenge.  Both sites have excellent Design Teams and other entries that provide plenty of inspiration each week!

To create this card:

Stamp the floral spray from Friends Never Fade using Versamark™ ink onto River Rock cardstock, apply Stampin’ Emboss® Navy Embossing Powder (retired) and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once the image has cooled, emboss again with the Big Shot™ and the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (this creates the Embedded Embossing layer).  Mount our homemade Designer Paper onto Night of Navy cardstock.

Also stamp the focal image with Versamark™ ink onto a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock and again onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock- apply Stampin’ Emboss® Navy Embossing Powder (retired) and heat emboss with the Heat Tool.  Once cooled, cut the flower out from the Whisper White embossed piece, color the center with a Stampin’ Write River Rock marker and adhere over the Lucky Limeade flower (paper piecing the flower in the image).

********Note*********
Another alternative to the Navy Embossing Powder (EP) would be to ink the stamp with Night of Navy Craft ink and heat emboss with Clear EP, or ink with Versamark™ ink, then ink with Night of Navy Classic Ink and heat emboss with Clear EP.

Using a Brayer, apply Night of Navy ink onto the smooth interior side of the Finial Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and emboss a piece of Lucky Limeade.  Adhere this layer to Night of Navy and River Rock.

With the Big Shot™ and the Designer Frame (rectangular) EF, emboss a piece of Lucky Limeade and Whisper White.  Carefully cut around the edges and lightly sponge with a Sponge Dauber.

Layer the card according to the sketch, adhere the 5/8” White Satin Ribbon Bow and mount onto the Night of Navy card base to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade

Cardstock: Lucky Limeade, Night of Navy, River Rock, Whisper White

Ink: Versamark™

Accessories: Big Shot™, Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders- Desiigner Frames (Rectangular), Finial Press, Square Lattice, Heat Gun, Stampin’ Emboss® Navy Embossing Powder (retired), Brayer, Sponge Dauber, 5/8” White Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Write River Rock Marker

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you enjoy this card and have a great week creating your paper crafting projects- God Bless!

SSC223 Get Well Soon

Hi Stampers!
It has been a stressful week at my accounting job, so after Awana this evening, I decided that I need a “de-stress” with my card making and what better way than with the Operators at Stamping411 :-).
I wanted to create a fairly quick, easy card and I love the SSC223 sketch this week, so I chose to keep it simple by using Designer Paper for the background.
This sketch has so many possibilities, and again, the Stamping411 Design Team has done a fabulous job! If you have a chance to visit, check them out along with all of the other gorgeous entries!

To create this card:

With the Big Shot™, emboss a piece of the Beau Château Designer Series Paper with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and a piece of Pink Pirouette with the Oval Designer Frame Textured Impressions™ Folder (I stamped the sentiment first in Soft Suede before embossing) .

Trim around the oval frame, cut off one end of the Designer Series Paper (to flip over and use the reverse side) and tear the upper right hand corner.  Use a Sponge Dauber with Soft Suede ink to distress the layers a bit and adhere the DSP onto Soft Suede.

Use the Crimper to crimp the exposed corner of the Soft Suede background and a piece of Marina Mist cardstock.  Punch the edge of the Marina Mist with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and adhere over the cut edge of the DSP.

Create the rolled flowers using the 1 3/8” Circle Punch (cut a spiral and roll up- quick and easy) and insert a pearl into the center of each flower (sometimes this can be the trickiest part of the card).

Attach the ribbon and bow, oval with sentiment and the rolled flowers (I used mini glue dots to adhere the flowers to the card).

Stamp Sets:  Sincere Sentiments

InkSoft Suede

Cardstock: Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, Beau Château DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Square Lattice and Oval Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders , Scallop Trim Border and 1 3/8” Circle Punches, Sponge Dauber, Crimper, 3/8” Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks again for stopping by and blessing my life with you! I hope all of you have a great week stamping and take some time to "de-stress" :-)!

Another Fall Birthday Card (and a New Challenge)

Hi Stampers!

I needed to create some more Fall Birthday cards and decided to use the FM24 Friday MashUp Challenge along with the CS48TCreative Sketch Challenge (a new challenge site for me:-).  Again, both sites have wonderful inspiration for all- if you have the time, check them out!

The Friday MashUp Challenge is to create a Fall Card or create a card using Orange and Yellow, or "Mash It Up" and do both in one card. Although, Orange and Yellow are not normally the first colors that I gravitate towards, after working with them this past week, I will have to make an effort to use them more often:-).

Even though this card has flowers versus leaves, I believe that the fall colors remind me of a late summer/fall day in the garden and all of the items are Stampin' Up! with the exception of a piece of lace that I had in stock (from my sewing stash :-)).

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot™ and emboss a piece of More Mustard  with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder ( I used a brayer and applied Tangerine Tango ink to the smooth side of the interior of the folder prior to embossing).  With a Sponge Dauber, apply Soft Suede ink on the edges and over the embossed images to “antique” the paper.

On Very Vanilla cardstock, use Early Espresso Classic Ink to stamp the En Francais background stamp and the main floral image from Elements of Style.  Also, stamp the sentiment from Sincere Salutations with Early Espresso ink and a few flowers from the floral image onto another piece of Very Vanilla.  Emboss this piece with the Big Shot™ and the Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.

Use Stampin’ Write Markers in More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Cajun Craze (for the centers) to color the flowers.  Sponge the edges of all with Soft Suede ink and spritz using the Color Spritzer Tool and the Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker.

Mount the focal image layers onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock (carefully trim around the Designer Frame prior to mounting to the cardstock and trim the Pumpkin Pie to "frame"the die cut).  Sponge more Soft Suede ink to distress and tone down the brightness of the Pumpkin Pie.

Spray each layer with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (mixed with 70% alcohol- this does not show up in photo very well but the card looks "dazzling" in the light :-)).

Layer the lace, focal images. ribbon, bow and add the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Elements of Style, Sincere Salutations, En Francais
Ink: Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, Stampin’ Write Markers- More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Vintage Wallpaper and Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool, Brayer, Pearls, 5/8” Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon (retired),  Lace (from my sewing stash)

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a wonderful week stamping and creating!

Two Cards- Two Challenges and an Anniversary!

Hi Stampers!

I decided to create two cards using the colors from this week’s CQC98 ColourQ Challenge along with the sketches from this week's Stamping 411 with the Operators SSC217 Sketch Challenge (two sketches this week).

I seem to never have enough birthday cards on hand and thought that the colors this week would work well with one of my favorite stamp sets, Elements of Style.  After creating this card and while I still had the colors on the table, why not just create another one, so I decided to create a Christmas card as well.

Both cards were fairly quick and easy to create...once the design was determined :-)

Stamp the image with Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White cardstock and color the leaves using the Lucky Limeade SU! Marker and use a Blender Pen with Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo Classic Ink to color the flowers.   Distress the image with a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink along with the Color Spritzer Tool™ with the Soft Suede SU! Marker-  layer onto Soft Suede and Whisper White cardstock.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss  a piece of Island Indigo and layer onto Lucky Limeade. Add the 5/8” Old Olive Satin Bow to the focal image and adhere to the Island Indigo layer.

With the Big Shot™ and the Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, emboss a piece of Soft Suede and cut around the outside border of the frame.
Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White with Island Indigo ink and punch out with the Word Window Punch.  Create the rest of the label with the Large Oval and Modern Label Punch.

Stamp the butterfly image with Island Indigo onto Whisper White and carefully cut out.  Apply 2-Way Glue and Blue Brilliance Stampin’ Glitter® (retired) to the entire butterfly.

Add the pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:   Elements of Style, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Soft Suede, SU! Markers- Soft Suede
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Framed Tulip and Designer Frames Textured Impressions™ EF, 5/8” Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Word Window and Modern Label Punch, Sponge Daubers, Pearls, Blue Brilliance Stampin’ Glitter® (retired) , Color Spritzer Tool, 2-Way Glue Pen, Blender Pen

Card#2-
Use the Big Shot™ with the new Snow Burst Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (sneak peak) and the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die to cut a few snowflakes with Whisper White cardstock.

Lightly sponge Island Indigo over the edges of the snowflakes and adhere them to circles punched with the 1 3/8” and 1 ¼” Circle Punches.  Use the 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds to add glitter to each snowflake (I am on a glitter kick tonight).

Add the 5/8” Satin Ribbon (from my stash) to the embossed Whisper White panel along with the sentiment (stamped with Island Indigo and use the Decorative Label along the bottom to create the wavy border).

Adhere the panel to the Bermuda Bay card front and add the Rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:   Christmas Greetings
Ink: Island Indigo
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay (retired)
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Snow Burst Textured Impressions™ EF, Northern Frost Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die, Sponge Dauber, Rhinestones, Punches- 1 3/8” Circle, 1 ¼” Circle, Decorative Label, 5/8” Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

I hope you like both of these cards and I want to thank you again for visiting me today and over this past year.

Today marks the 1st anniversary of my blog and just a little over 60,000 visits!  Thanks again for stopping by and all of your encouragement- it means the world to me:-)

God Bless all of you this week and have fun stamping!
