Love You More

Hi Friends!

I have been busy this summer trying to organizing my stamping studio and have decided to focus on using some of my older stamps and paper this year (I believe I could create a card every day for years using a different stamp set and still not use all of my stamps :-)).

I wanted to take a break this evening and decided to pull out the retired Stampin’ Up! Love You More stamp set along with the retired I Am Me designer series paper.  I paired the two with the current Work of Art stamp set to create a quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card.

Clean and Simple cards are still difficult for me (I tend to be a more Shabby Chic/Mixed Media artist) so to focus my design process, I incorporated the CAS(E) This Sketch #232 Sketch Challenge along with the #93  Keyword Challenge at The Challenge (Simple, Friendship) into the design.

Since I have a large selection of stamp sets (most of which are retired Stampin' Up!), I find that online challenges help me limit my choices and at least finish a card:-)).

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenges yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- great inspiration from all!

This was a very simple card to create:

1). Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock to approx. 4” x 5 ¼”, mount onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto a piece of Real Red cardstock.

2). De-static a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock with an Embossing Buddy®, stamp the globe image with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Once the powder has cooled, color the heart with the Real Red Stampin’ Wrtie Marker and the ocean with the Pool Party Marker.  Fussy-cut the image and use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the ocean.

3). Cut a piece of the I Am Me patterned paper, layer onto Basic Gray cardstock and again  onto Real Red cardstock.

4). Ink the chevron stamp from Work of Art with Pool Party Classic Ink, stamp on an angle onto the card front several times before adhering the layered designer paper panel.  Trim the panel to the edges of the card front and mount the entire card front onto the Extra Thick Whisper White card base.

5). Ink the sentiment from Love You More with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

6). Mount the fussy cut globe image with dimensional foam onto the card front.

7). Finish off the card by adding a few accents with Nuvo™ Crystal Glossy Black Drops.

Stamp Sets: Love You More, Work of Art

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Pool Party Classic Ink; Stampin’ Write Markers- Pool Party, Real Red; Clear Wink of Stella®

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Real Red, retired I AM Me DSP

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Buddy®, Clear EP, Heat Tool

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and I hope all of you have a wonderful week!

SR233 Nautical Card with Two Versions :-)

Hi Stampers!!

I had a chance to play in my craft room this evening and decided to create a card for the Stampin’ Royalty SR233 Color Challenge.  I love the colors and thought that they would make a great nautical card so I pulled out the new set, Traveler.

I hope you have a chance to visit their site and check out the Design Team samples and other entries- great job by all!

 To create this card:

Version #1
Ink the script stamp from By The Tide using Night of Navy Classic Ink, stamp off and repeatedly stamp over the continents on a piece of I Am Me Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Trim the panel and add a strip of Night of Navy cardstock to the lower part of the DSP.

Punch out banners from the retired Fresh Prints DSP stack (along with a few from a piece of retired Night of Navy DSP) and adhere to the bottom of the panel.

Ink the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Night of Navy Classic Ink, stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper and stamp onto the DSP.

Stamp the sentiments from Bravo using Coastal Cabana Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, re-ink the same sentiments with Night of Navy Classic Ink and stamp over the initial stamping (creating a shadow effect).

Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Night of Navy Classic Ink, stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper and stamp over the sentiment area.

Add the vertical strip of Night of Navy and Real Red cardstock (I used scraps for this layer).  Adhere the map panel to the upper part of the Whisper White layer, trim and mount onto Coastal Cabana cardstock, trim and mount onto Night of Navy cardstock, trim and adhere to the Real Red card base.

Ink the ship stamp from Traveler using Night of Navy Classic Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, add a few highlights using the Real Red Stampin’ Write marker and punch out using the 2 ½” XL Circle Punch.
Version#2- "Stepped Up" with brads :-)

Using the 2 ½” XL Circle Punch, punch out one circle from Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White cardstock, cut each circle in half and adhere in a rotating pattern around the ship image.

Mount the ship onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

To “step” up the card, adhere the three retired Star brads to finish off the “stepped-up” version of the card :-)

Happy Birthday Anne Marie!!

Hi Stampers!

This past week, Anne Marie Hile celebrated a milestone birthday and I wanted to create a card in her honor for the  Dynamic Duos Happy Birthday Surprise Linky Party for Anne Marie!

I met Anne Marie a few years ago through my Guest Designer spot on The Paper Players and have always admired her artwork!  Now I get to interact with her weekly again through the Dynamic Duos Design Team- I am so thrilled!

Anne Marie loves pink so I decided to incorporate some shades of pink in the card and use the CCMC277Sketch for the layout.   I hope you will have the time to visit the Dynamic Duos site (scroll down a bit past the new challenge to see all of the other cards for Anne Marie) as well as the Create with Connie and Mary site

Stamp the flowers from Field Flowers onto a separate piece of Whisper White using Early Espresso Classic Ink.  Color using Stampin’ Write Markers- Blush Blossom, Primrose Petals and Sahara Sand. Add a few highlights with the Chalk Marker and “fussy-cut” the flowers mounting onto the stems using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.

Life is a Daring Adventure- Another CAS for World Card Making Day

Hi again Stampers!

Since yesterday was World Card Making Day, I spent some time in my craft room to create a few Clean and Simple (CAS) cards.

This card was created using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch #23Challenge along with a few pre-printed images from My Digital Studio (MDS) – if you have a chance, check out their site for great sketches and ideas :-)

To create this card:

In My Digital Studio (MDS), open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and insert the stamp brush image "Sunflower" and the sentiment from "Daring Adventure" (re-size both images).  Print the images using your computer printer and hand cut (“fussy” cut) the Sunflower image and use a trimmer to cut the sentiment (layer the sentiment onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock).

Using Sponge Daubers, color the Sunflower image using Summer Starfruit Classic Ink for the petals and Soft Suede Classic Ink for the flower center.  Use the Chalk Marker to highlight the seeds in the center of the sunflower.

Cut the banner strip from the I Am Me Designer Series Paper and hand cut the banner points (or use the 1 3/8” Square Punch).  Layer onto Basic Black cardstock and cut the banner points to match.

Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.  Layer onto a piece of Whisper White and again onto the Basic Black card base.

Mount the banner, sentiment and sunflower element per the sketch and add a few Pearls to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Sunflower, Daring Adventure (both MDS)

Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Summer Starfruit, Soft Suede

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, I Am Me Designer Series Paper

Accessories:  Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Chlak Marker.  Pearls
