Thoughts of You

Hi Friends!

I am sharing my final card that I created this past weekend using a quick Acrylic Block Watercolor Stamping technique (this is a fun technique and I am sure that I will be sharing cards with this type of background again in the future).

If you have not had a chance to check out the above challenge sites yet, I hope you will find the time to do so- as always, fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). SwipeTim Holtz® Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink onto a medium sized acrylic block, spritz with water, flip the block over onto a piece of watercolor paper and put something heavy (I used my electric pencil sharpener on my desk) and allow it to stay on the paper for five minutes.

2). After five minutes, lift the paper off the block, pat any excess water and dry with the heat tool.  Spritz again with water to add a few water spots and dry with the heat tool.

3). Once the panel has thoroughly dried, de-static with an embossing powder tool, stamp the floral image and sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes (designed by Korin Sutherland available at Sweet ‘n SassyStamps) with Versafine™ Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.

4). Trim around the image and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

5). Use a water brush with Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves ink to add a light wash to a piece of vanilla cardstock, add a bit of splatter with black ink, trim and mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim and add to the white card base.

6). Mount the embossed floral image with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black; Tim Holtz® Distress Inks- Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves

Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla (Stampin’ Up!), Canson™ Watercolor

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Buddy®, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Emboss® Clear Embossing Powder

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by! May the Lord keep all of you safe in the path of Hurricane Irma- hugs, sweet friends!

Nature Silhouettes - Thinking of You

Hi Friends!

I had a chance to create a few cards this past weekend and am finally getting an opportunity to post them.  This card was designed with three different Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps- Long Stem Silhouettes, Nature Silhouettes and Nature Silhouettes 2 (all designed by Korin Sutherland).

I decided to keep this card Clean and Simple (CAS) for the September CAS Watercolour "Silhouette" Challenge and the Watercolor Cooler #134 “Anything Goes”Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). For the background- tap a Distress Oxide Twisted Citron ink pad onto the mat, lightly spritz with water, press a piece of white cardstock into the ink, lift up, press again and dry with a heat tool. Continue to build up the layers using Worn Lipstick and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.

2). Once the panel has thoroughly dried, ink the silhouette images from NatureSilhouettes and Nature Silhouettes 2 with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto the panel (lining up at the bottom) and heat set with the heat tool.  Trim the panel and mount onto black cardstock.

3). Ink the bird image from Nature Silhouettes 2 with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, heat emboss with clear embossing powder and once the embossing has cooled, fussy-cut the image.

4). Ink the sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and mount onto a piece of black cardstock.

5). Add the landscape panel to the card front, adhere the entire card front onto a white card base and mount the bird with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Pretty Potted Floral Birthday

Hi Friends!

While I had the colors out for the Splitcoaststampers CC649 Color Challenge for my previous post, I decided to create another quick Clean and Simple (CAS) card for a few more online challenges.

This card uses the Pretty Potted Florals Clear Stamp Set (designed by NinaB Designs) along with Long Stem Silhouettes (designed by Korin Sutherland) – both available at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.

If you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Ink the Pretty Potted Florals image using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp onto white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool. Once the embossing powder has cooled, use a water brush with ink from the Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Markers to watercolor the image.  Fussy-cut and set aside.

2). To create the background, slit open an acetate envelope (I use the clear envelope packaging from the SNSS stamp sets:-)), scribble ink from the Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist markers onto one half of the envelope, lightly spritz with water, close the envelope and “smoosh” the ink around, re-open the envelope and press a piece of white cardstock into the ink.

3). Trim the background, stamp the sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink and mount onto a piece of gray cardstock.  Adhere the entire panel onto the white card base and add the fussy-cut flower with dimensional foam.

4). To finish off the card, use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the flower petals and the Extra Fine White Sharpie® Paint Pen to add white highlights to the flower center.

Stamp Sets:  Pretty Potted Florals, Long Stem Silhouettes (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)

Ink/Mediums: Versafine™ Onyx Black, Stampin’ Write Markers- Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, Lemon Lime Twist; Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen, Sharpie® Extra Fine White PaintPen

Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Gray

Accessories/Tools: Embossing Buddy®, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Clear Acetate Envelope, Water Spritzer, AquaPainter™

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and I hope all of you have a fabulous week!

Stamp the silhouette image from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Landscape Silhouettes onto the sponged sky using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink.
Using a paint brush with Titanium White Acrylic Paint, add a few stars to the sky.

Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, trim and mount onto the Basic Black card base.

Add the silhouette scene using dimensional foam to finish off the card.
