Praying for You- Two Challenges and a Hidden Secret..

Hi Stampers!

I just love the colors in this week’s Just Add Ink JAI81 Challenge and decided to create another quick card with these colors along with the PP60 CAS Sketch at The Paper Players.  It never ceases to amaze me at the variety of designs that card designers can create with the same color combo or sketch challenge- if you have time, check out both sites and I believe that you will also be amazed!

To create this card:

Ink the flourish stamp from Elements of Style with Cajun Craze Classic Ink and stamp onto Peach Parfait cardstock, sponge the edges with Cajun Craze and mount onto Cajun Craze cardstock.   Use the Eyelet Border Punch along the edge of Very Vanilla cardstock and run the piece through the Crimper.   Add the blue satin ribbon bow and set aside.

Create the rolled flowers with the 1 ½” Scallop Circle and 1 3/8” Circle Punch (also run through the Crimper Tool prior to cutting into the spiral).  Add the pearls to the center of the flowers.

With a Brayer, apply Cajun Craze ink to the smooth interior side of the Final Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder and emboss a piece of Bashful Blue cardstock using the Big Shot™ . Lightly sponge the edges with additional Cajun Craze ink.

Ink the floral spray with Peach Parfait Classic Ink, stamp off and stamp the image onto Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the sentiment with Cajun Craze ink and punch out with the Large Oval Punch.  Layer this onto a Cajun Craze layer (two ovals punched with the Large Oval Punch), an embossed layer of Bashful Blue punched with the Decorative Label Punch and a Crajun Craze layer punched with the Modern Label Punch.

Hidden Secret- I know other card makers have shared this but I always punch out embellishments from my background layers prior to adhering the focal images.  From this card I was able to punch out two Decorative Labels from the embossed background and several pieces from the Cajun Craze layer.   Unless the recipient of the card puts the card up to the light and tries to "spy on the layers", they are unaware of this secret (or unless I tell them) and it helps reduce the weight of the card for mailing, not to mention allows you to have embellishments for future cards:-)    Ssshh....I won't tell if you don't :-)

To finish off the card, assemble the layers, additional ribbon strips, flowers and pearls.

Stamp Sets:  Element of Style, Blessings from Heaven
 Ink: Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue, Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait
Accessories:  Big Shot™, Final Press Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder, Crimper, Punches- Large Oval, Modern Label, Decorative Label, Eyelet Border, Pearls and ribbon from my stash.

Thanks again for stopping by- you have encouraged me with your visit!
