DD83 Happy Birthday!

Hi Again Stampers!

I wanted to share with you the card that I created for my husband’s birthday using the DD83 Dynamic Duos ColorChallenge (I could not post this the week of the actual challenge since his birthday had not occurred yet :-)

We love to watch birds and the Canadian Goose in Wetlands seemed to be the perfect choice for his card this year- I did not add pearls but did sneak in a satin bow (real men love ribbon- right?) :-)

To create this card:
Stamp the Canadian Goose image from Wetlands using Basic Black Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and also onto a piece of sticky note paper (making sure that some of the sticky strip is under your stamped image).  Cut out the image from the sticky note and place the mask over the Canadian Goose.
Punch out a circle using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch from another sticky note and place the circle part of the mask over the Canadian Goose image and using a Sponge Dauber with Marina Mist Classic Ink, create the sky portion.  Remove the circle mask and lightly sponge a bit of Marina Mist Classic Ink in a circular pattern over the moon to give more dimension.
Keep the mask in place for the Canadian Goose image and sponge Crumb Cake Classic Ink along the bottom to create the foreground.
Remove the masks and stamp the grassy image from Wetlands using Basic Black Classic Ink along the right hand side (stamp a few times to build up the grasses).
Color the Canadian Goose image using the AquaPainter™ with Crumb Cake and Basic Gray Classic Ink.  Add additional details with the Stampin’ Write Basic Black marker- darken the neck and face area, add lines for the feathers on the body of the goose and add additional grass lines to tie the foreground to the grasses on the right.
Use the retired Color Spritzer Tool with the Basic Black Marker to lightly spritz the lower and left hand side of the image (replace the masks for the Canadian Goose and moon before spritzing).   Remove the masks and add a few details to the grassy areas using the Chalk Marker as well as the eye and neck/cheek area of the Canadian Goose image.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Deco Labels Framelits™ to cut out the image, layer onto a Chalk Talk tag (split into two and separated to elongate behind the image) and a 2 ½” Circle cut into two and adhered behind the image showing on the sides only.
Use the Big Shot™ to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Chevron Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder (only emboss 2/3 of the layer).  Add the Marina Mist Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Basic Black scrap strips at the top and bottom (to give the appearance of being layered onto Basic Black but not the weight for mailing).
Add the ½” Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon and adhere the entire panel onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and again onto the Whisper White card base.
To finish off the card, add the Canadian Goose focal tag image using Stampin’ Dimensionals® along with the banner sentiment and 5/8” Basic Black Satin Ribbon bow.
