SUO89 One Layer Card- People Like You

Hi Stampers!

It’s time for a new SU-Only Challenge and the SUO89 Challengeis “One Layer ”.  I must confess that I struggle with only one layer cards but decided to use the new stamp, People Like You (perfect for one layer :-))

I hope that you will be able to take the time to visit us andcheck out the rest of the Design Team samples- so many great ideas and we are looking forward to seeing your SU! Only One Layer creations in our gallery!

To create this card:

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the People Like You image using Early Espresso Classic Ink and also stamp the image onto pieces of scrap paper or sticky notes (to use as a mask).

Using the AquaPainter™ with Pool Party Classic Ink, apply a watercolor wash around the flower, stem and sentiment.  Allow to air dry (or, you can speed up the process as I did using your Heat Tool).

Lightly and randomly ink the En Francais background stamp with Early Espresso Classic Ink and mask the flowers before stamping over the watercolored background.

Color the flowers using Stampin’ Write markers- first using Pink Pirouette, then Calypso Coral.   Once dry, create a few shadows with the Sahara Sand marker and when that has dried, highlight with the Chalk Marker.

Soften with a damp AquaPainter™ over the background and sentiment, add additional highlights as needed and finish off the card by stamping the splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge using Early Espresso Classic Ink (stamped off first).
Stamp Sets: People Like You, En Francais, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Early Espresso, Pool Party;  Stampin’ Write Markers- Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral, Sahara Sand; Chalk Marker
Paper/Cardstock:  Whisper White
Accessories: AquaPainter™
I will have to try a few more One Layer Cards so I can become more comfortable with this style- hope to see your creations in our SUO89 Gallery!

Thanks again for visiting- have a fabulous week!!
