I am having so much fun making rolled flowers that I decided
to create a spring card for the Seize the Birthday “May Flowers” Challenge
using the Just Add Ink JAI214 Sketch along with the CQC240 ColourQ Challenge.
I was inspired by the inspiration photo and decided to pull out Stippled Blossoms to create my own background or Designer Series Paper (DSP) :-)
If you have not had time to do so, I hope you will have a
chance to visit all of the challenge sites and check out the wonderful Design Team
projects as well as the other entrants- again, inspiration from all!
To create this card:
Create your own Designer Series Paper (DSP) by repeatedly
stamping the solid floral image from Stippled Blossoms using Pink Pirouette
Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Ink the corresponding floral line image using
Strawberry Slush Classic Ink and complete the Two-Step Stamping process, add a
few leaves using Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink and retired Sage Shadow Classic
Ink.
FYI- You can barely see the stamped embossing folder (Honeycomb) under the flowers so I did not mention this step...will need to add more moisture and color when I try the embossed stamping technique- lol!!
Punch two lattice layers from
another piece of Whisper White cardstock using a Lattice Border Punch.
Cut the "homemade" DSP on a
diagonal (per the JAI214 sketch) and adhere the stamped images alternating with the
punched borders onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Trim and mount onto a piece of Strawberry
Slush cardstock and add the ¼” Sage Shadow Grosgrain Ribbon to the edges of the
lattice.
Stamp the sentiment from
Express Yourself (hostess set) using Strawberry Slush Classic Ink onto Whisper
White cardstock and create the banner points using the Hexagon Punch. Adhere to the lattice strip using Stampin’
Dimensionals® and add a few Pearls to the corners .
Add the small “Seed” Pearls
to the lattice and to the centers of the stamped flowers.
Create the rolled flowers
from Strawberry Slush cardstock (use the 2 ½” , 1 ¾” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle
Punches- punch the scallop circles, hand cut a wavy spiral from the outside of
the scallop circle toward the center, use the Bone Folder to curl the edges of
the petals a bit, roll up from the outside edge and adhere using Tombow
Multi-Purpose Adhesive or a Hot Glue Gun).
Add the leaves from retired
Sage Shadow cardstock (created with the Bird Builder Punch) to the rolled
flowers and adhere to the front of the card using a Hot Glue Gun or Mini Glue
Dots.
Mount the entire panel
onto the Whisper White card base to finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms
, Express Yourself (hostess set),
Ink: Strawberry Slush,
Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, retired Sage Shadow
Paper/Cardstock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, retired Sage
Shadow
Accessories: Punches:
