Here is another card I created in between organizing and
moving some of my craft room (I have
found that working in the dining room has been more inspirational than in the
overcrowded craft room-too much stimulation seeing all of the supplies- lol!!) :-)
This card was created using the CQC248 ColourQ Challenge and the Seize the Birthday (Toppings-Stars and Stripes- both feature a
patriotic combination (again, I hope you will have a chance to check out both sites- great Design Team samples and wonderful galleries of entries)...
To create this card:
Stamp the Lighthouse image using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink
onto Whisper White cardstock.
Use an AquaPainter™ with Marina Mist Classic Ink to color the
sky area and use the Stampin’ Write Sahara Sand marker to add shadows to the
lighthouse and buildings.
Use the Not Quite Navy Stampin’ Write marker to color the tree
area and darken the lighthouse and color the compass with the Ruby Red, Marina
Mist and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write markers.
Trim the lighthouse panel and mount onto Ruby Red
cardstock. Trim and mount onto Not Quite
Navy cardstock.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions™
Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Trim and mount onto a piece of Ruby Red
cardstock, trim and mount again onto Not Quite Navy and adhere to the Whisper
White card base.
Stamp the sentiment using Not Quite Navy Classic Ink onto
Whisper White cardstock and create the banner points using the Banner
Punch. Use a Sponge Dauber with Sahara
Sand Classic Ink to tone down the Whisper White cardstock, mount onto a piece
of Not Quite Navy cardstock punching the banner points with the Banner
Punch. Mount onto a piece of Ruby Red
cardstock, punching the banner points with the Banner Punch- adhere to the
front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Create the banner at the top of the card using the Banner
Punch from retired Not Quite Navy and Ruby Red Designer Series Paper
(DSP). Use a few strands of Linen Thread
to create the “line”- knotting the ends (I used Hot Glue to attach).
Carefully remove the brad ends from the Vintage Trinkets and
adhere between the banners (again, I used Hot Glue to attach to the “line”). Also attach one of the brad heads to the
center of the compass to finish off the card.
Paper: Whisper White, Not Quite
Navy, Ruby Red, retired DSP- Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red
Accessories: Big Shot™, Woodgrain Textured Impressions™
Embossing Folder, AquaPainter™, Sponge Dauber, Banner Punch, Linen
Thread, retired Vintage Trinkets
