Hi Friends!!
I am so excited to be
a sample maker for Dawn on her week to host the Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge F4A295 "Time to Loosen Up" Challenge!
This week’s challenge is to create a Watercolor Drip Technique Card (see here for more details) and since I
do not own any ink sprays, I decided to use Distress Stains.
I was inspired byStampin’ Celebration’s SC114 Inspiration Challenge as well as the House of Cards “Add Texture and/or Color” Challenge for October and the Simon Monday "Wonderful Watercolor" Challenge.
I hope you will have
a chance to visit each of the sites and check out their Design Team samples as
well as their galleries.
Stamp the Our Daily
Bread Designs Scripture Collection 9 verse using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto a
piece of Watercolor Paper.
Wet the paper with
the AquaPainter™ and put a few drops of Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stain onto a craft mat- I used Mustard Seed, Spiced
Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon.
Pick up the color
with the AquaPainter™ and apply to the card front, spritzing additional water and
allowing the ink to flow.
Dry with the Heat Tool,
stamp with the thick splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge (using water only
versus ink) and dry again with the Heat Tool.
Cut the panel out
using the Big Shot™ with the My Favorite Things™ Stitched Rectangle Die and
mount it onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock, trim and set aside.
Emboss a piece of
white cardstock (this is from my stash and has a bit of sheen to it) using the
Big Shot™ with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder.
Trim and mount onto a
piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, trim and mount onto the Crushed Curry card
base.
Stamp the leaves from
French Foliage onto Watercolor Paper using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and watercolor
with the AquaPainter™ along with Ranger®
Tim Holtz® Distress Stains (again, using
Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon). Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Cajun Craze
Classic Ink to the edges.
Carefully cut out the
leaves by hand.
Mount the Scripture
verse panel to the front of the card and the leaves using Stampin’ Dimensionals®.
Slip the gold clip onto the upper right hand corner to
finish off the card.
Stamp Sets:
French Foliage, Gorgeous Grunge ; ODBD Scripture Collection 9

Tim Holtz® Distress Stains- Mustard
Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon
