CAS Floral Watercolor Wash

Hi Again Friends!!

Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry,
Mossy Meadow
I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!

In creating my card in my previous blog post for the Splitcoaststampers’ CC555 Color Challenge, I had a few scrap pieces that I had set aside (sometimes I am just not inspired to use what I start to create at the time- lol! ), so I decided to finish up one of the "tossed aside" background panels into a floral Clean and Simple (CAS) card.

These colors also seem to work well for the Just Add Ink JAI287 Inspiration Photo Challenge. I love the purples and greens in this photo as well as the brown tones :-)

If you have not already done so, I hope you will find the time to visit both of the linked challenge galleries- such fabulous designs by all of the Design Teams and entries!!

To create this card:

Using Sponge Daubers, apply Mossy Meadow and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink onto the Watercolor Wash background stamp.

Spritz the stamp with water, daub sparingly with a paper towel and place a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the inked image, rub the panel to absorb the ink, lift up the panel and once it has dried, stamp the large splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Soft Suede Classic Ink.

Ink the floral image from Flower Shop several times using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Use an AquaPainter™ with Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink to watercolor the petals and the Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker for the centers.

Carefully cut each petal out by hand and use a Sponge Dauber to add additional Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink to the petals.

Use a fine point paintbrush with Titanium White Acrylic Paint to add the white highlights to the flower centers and the AquaPainter™ with Frost White Shimmer Paint to cover the petals.

Ink the leaves from Choose Happiness using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.

Color with the Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers, fussy-cut the branches and leaves and spritz with water to blend the ink from the markers.

Trim the background panel, stamp the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Scripture Collection 9 using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink and mount the panel onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Adhere the panel to the Whisper White card base and add the leaves with the flowers to the front to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets:  Flower Shop, Choose Happiness, Watercolor Wash, Gorgeous Grunge (all Stampin’ Up!); Scripture Collection 9 (ODBD)

Ink:  Stāz-On® Jet Black, Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry; Stampin’ Write Markers- Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede; Titanium White Acrylic Paint, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Paper: Whisper White, Mossy Meadow

Accessories: AquaPainter™, Paint Brush

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope all of you have a marvelous Monday!

  7. Thanks everyone for your sweet comments! Lee, I did not do a video and have considered starting to do videos in the future :-) This card was fairly easy to create and hopefully my step by step instructions will help you.
