Artistic Outpost- The Seeds You Plant

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing my weekly card post on the Artistic Outpost (AO) blog – this Mixed Media card was created using the new AO March Release stamps, Seed Packets Background, Harvest and Grunge Elements.

I am linking this card to the Splitcoaststampers’ WT558 “What’s Cooking” Challenge as well as the Word Art Wednesday #226/227 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

To create this card:

De-static a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Embossing Buddy®, stamp the sentiment from Harvest with Versamark™ ink onto the prepared cardstock and heat emboss with Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder.

Age the paper with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and stamp the Grunge Elements splatter and grid with Crumb Cake Classic Ink. 

Trim the sentiment panel and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, trim and add the Antique Brass brads to the corners and set aside.

For the background panel, add Ranger® Tim Holtz® Distress Stains (Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade) to a craft mat, lay a piece of watercolor paper face down into the ink, lift from the mat and spritz with water.

Lightly dry the panel with the Heat Tool, stamp the Seed Packets Background with Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink (I purposely stamped it while the panel was a bit wet to achieve an aged look) and repeatedly stamp the grid stamp image (from Grunge Elements ) with Crumb Cake Classic Ink.

Trim and distress the background panel edges with a Distressing Tool, apply Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and mount onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Trim the Basic Black cardstock layer and mount onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.

Use a Sponge Dauber to distress the Crumb Cake layer with Ranger® Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink and mount onto the Whisper White card base.

Add a strip of 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon (remove some of the burlap) and mount the sentiment with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Accessories: Embossing Buddy®, Stampin’ Emboss® Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Distressing Tool, 1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon, Antique Brass Brads
