I
hope all of you are having a great week so far!
It’s time for the new Splitcoaststampers’ SC606 Sketch Challenge and I
decided to create this card using some of the brand new August mid-month
release stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs.
In
addition to the SC606 Sketch Challenge (I flipped the sketch), I incorporated the Splitcoaststampers' CC596 Color Challenge and the Word Art Wednesday #244-#245 “Anything
Goes” Challenge.
If
you have not already visited the above challenge sites, I hope you will have a
chance to do so- fabulous inspiration from my Design Team Sisters at the SCS Sketch
Gallery as well as the wonderful samples at the SCS Color Gallery and Word Art Wednesday challenge site!
To
create this card:
Die
cut and emboss a piece of white cardstock with the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Flourished Star Patterns Die, mount onto a piece of melon cardstock, trim close to the
edge and mount onto the black card front.
Ink
the Thanks A Melon watermelon images with archival black ink, stamp onto a
panel of white cardstock, heat set and color with water-based markers, add
white highlights with a white paint pen and die cut the panel with the ODBD Leafy Edged Borders Die.
Gently
apply ModPodge to the surface of the die cut panels and set aside to dry (be careful not to apply to heavy or the ink may run).
Die
cut and emboss a few pieces of white cardstock with the ODBD Flower Lattice Die (you will need four strips in all), position in the center of the
card panel using dimensional foam and mount the stamped panels per the sketch
(also using dimensional foam).
Stamp
a few more of the watermelon images from
Thanks A Melon with archival black ink, stamp onto white cardstock (color in
the same manner as noted above for the background panel but do not add the
ModPodge), die cut with the ODBD Watermelon Dies and add sparkle with a clear
glitter pen.
Stamp
the sentiment from Thanks A Melon with archival black ink onto white cardstock,
die cut and emboss with the ODBD Mini Tag Dies (also die cutting a tag from
black cardstock using the same size die), layer the black tag behind the sentiment and mount the layered tag onto the
card front with dimensional foam.
Add
the black gingham bow to finish off the card.
I
hope this card inspires you to create a project this week and if so, come play
along with us at Splitcoaststampers!
Thanks
again for visiting- hugs and have a blessed week, my friends!
oooh, your card is so intricate! it's simply stunning! Thank you for joining us at Word Art Wednesday.
