I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so
far! I am sharing a Mixed Media card that I created using Sweet ‘n
Sassy Stamps Autumn
Mum Greetings Clear Stamp Set along with SNSS Doily Border
Dies.
I love all of the colors of fall- a glorious time of
year. All creation seems to be
splendidly showing off before winter arrives- what a fabulous site to see here
in the Northeastern United States!
I decided to incorporate a few online challenges into the
design- The Flower Challenge #1 “Anything Goes” (brand new challenge site) along with Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #rrbc48 “Tie Me Up” (I used
cherry grosgrain ribbon along with paper lace as well as the previously
released Autumn Mum Greetings Set – I have not used this set in over a year).
To create this card:
Ink the large mum image from SNSS Autumn
Mum Greetings Clear Stamp with Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink, stamp repeatedly
over a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (re-inking the stamp as needed) and use
a Distressing Tool to distress the edges.
Stamp the sentiment from SNSS Autumn
Mum Greetings Clear Stamp Set with black archival ink and heat set with the
Heat Tool.
Mount the stamped panel along with a piece of designer paper with
a sewing machine using a zig zag stitch onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock (trim close to the edge).
Die cut the SNSS Doily Border
Dies from Very Vanilla cardstock and age a bit with Old Paper Distress Ink.
Add the SNSS Doily Border
Die cut with 1” Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain Ribbon (wrapping the ends of the
ribbon behind the card panel) before mounting the entire card panel to the
Early Espresso card base.
Add the strip of pearls over the ribbon and set aside.
Ink the large and small mum images from SNSS Autumn
Mum Greetings with black archival ink and stamp onto white cardstock, heat
set the ink before adding color with a water brush and ink from Cherry Cobbler
and Cajun Craze Classic Ink pads.
Color the leaves with Wild Wasabi and Old Olive Classic Ink
(again, using the water brush).
Fussy cut the flowers and leaves, use a clear glitter pen to
add shimmer to the blossoms as well as the stamped background and mount the
flowers to the card front using dimensional foam.
Finish off the card with a few pearls to the flower centers
as well as the corners.
Thanks again for taking the time to stop by- hugs and have a
blessed week, sweet friends!
Hello Julie: Mums are some of the prettiest flowers for the Fall, they come in a whole array of colors and yours are gorgeous colored in my favorite shade of red from Stampin Up!.....Cherry Cobbler. This card is a labor of love, all the details are wonderful and your fussy cutting fabulous. Love the zig zag stitching and the pearls, beautiful card.

ReplyDeleteHi Julie! This card is absolutely stunning! The colors represent Autumn so gloriously! I happen to love mums. We gave my mom three mum plants when we were in grade school. Forty years later these mums still survive and have been moved from spot to spot in the yard. I love that we have the wonderful connection to the past! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Retro Rubber!
