F4A350 Come Thou Fount

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a quick fall card that I designed using the previously released Our Daily Bread Designs Chalkboard- Hymns stamp set and Cornucopia single stamp.

This card was created for the Splitcoaststampers' (SCS) Free For All #350 “Turkey Jokes Challenges” (I was inspired by music and Thanksgiving) along with the SCS CC607 Color Challenge, SCSAlphabet Double Challenge “C” (C= Cornucopia, Corn, Chalkboard Technique, Cord) and the Little Red Wagon #336 “Happy Fall Y’All” Challenge (this is a new challenge site for me :-)).

To create this card:

Ink and stamp the ODBD Cornucopia image with an archival black ink onto white cardstock and also stamp onto a piece of scrap or sticky note paper.

Carefully cut out the scrap image to create a mask and mask the cornucopia image on the white cardstock.

Using sponge daubers, apply distress inks to the ODBD Chalkboard- Hymns “Come Thou Fount” stamp (I used wild honey, ground espresso and crushed olive), then stamp onto the white cardstock overlapping the masked ODBD Cornucopia image.

Color the ODBD Cornucopia image with water based markers and a water brush, apply the markers directly as needed for shadows and highlights until you are satisfied with the results.

If needed, use the water brush to soften and fill in the edge around the masked image as well.

Add white highlights to the vegetables and fruit with an extra fine white paint pen and glimmer to the sunflower centers with a clear glitter pen.

Distress the edges of the background and mount onto a piece of espresso cardstock.

Add the polished hemp twine bow and mount onto the white card base to finish off the card.

This was a fun card to design and since the main panel is just one layer, it will not need additional postage to mail :-)
