Hi Friends!
Today I am sharing a
Mixed Media card that I designed using Artistic Outpost (AO) stamp sets, Sleigh Ride and Grunge Elements along
with ODBD Snow Crystals Dies and ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper (all
available at Our Daily Bread Designs).
I had fun inking up this vintage image and incorporated the Sunday Stamps #SSC140 Sketch Challenge and the Inkspirational #122 “Chill” Challenge into
the design (it looks awful chilly to me in their heavy coats and boots:-)).
If you have not had a
chance to visit The Artistic Outpost Blog or the challenge sites yet, I
encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from my Design Team sisters on the
AO Blog as well as the challenge galleries!
1). Distress the
panel of ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper with a distressing tool and
vintage photo distress ink, mount onto the espresso card base.
2). Repeatedly stamp the
snowflake images from the AO Sleigh Ride stamp set with vintage photo
distress ink onto a piece of rose cardstock, distress the edges, mount onto
espresso cardstock and adhere to the card front.
3). Ink the standing children
image from the AO Sleigh Ride stamp set with archival black ink, stamp onto white
cardstock, watercolor with distress inks and water-based markers and add
highlights with an extra fine white paint pen.
4). Distress the
edges of the stamped panel with a distressing tool and “age” the paper with a stencil
brush using vintage photo distress ink as well as the large splatter stamp from
the AO Grunge Elements stamp set.
5). Repeat steps 3
& 4 for the sentiment from the AO Sleigh Ride stamp set and create the
banner by hand.
6). Mount the focal
image panel along with the sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam.
7). Die cut a few
snowflakes from white and rose cardstock using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies, “age”
the paper with vintage photo distress ink and add to the card front.
8). Adhere a few
pearls to finish off the card.
I hope I have
inspired you with this quick Mixed Media Christmas card and thanks again for taking the time
to visit! Hugs and have a wonderful week,
my friends!
A beautiful vintage card, featuring such a sweet image! So thrilled you shared this gem in the Inkspirational *chill* gallery!
