I
hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far! I wanted to share another card I designed
with the brand new ODBD February 2017 Release stamp set, Hugs & Kisses
along with the new ODBD Layering Hearts Dies and the previously released ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies, ODBD Plum Pizzazz and ODBD Whimsical Wildflowers 6x6 Paper Collections.
I
love playing along with online challenges and decided to incorporate The Paper Players PP329 Sketch Challenge into the design.
If
you have not had a chance to visit the ODBD Blog yet or The Paper Players
challenge site yet, I would encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from
all!
To
create this card:
1).
Trim a piece of the dark purple patterned paper from the ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper Pad to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and mount onto a white card base.
3).
Die cut and emboss a piece of ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection 6x6 Paper using the
ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and mount onto the card front.
4).
De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink and
stamp the verse image from the ODBD Hugs & Kisses stamp set with embossing
ink first, then stamp into purple distress ink, apply clear embossing powder
and heat set with a heat tool. Die cut
and emboss the panel with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and mount onto the
card front.
5). Die cut and emboss the hearts using
the ODBD Layering Hearts Dies from ODBD Plum Pizzazz Collection and ODBD
Whimsical Collection 6x6 Paper Pads, also die cutting the same size hearts from
soft yellow cardstock, adhering the patterned paper onto the soft yellow
cardstock hearts (to give the hearts a bit more thickness). Mount the layered hearts onto the card front
per the sketch.
6).
Add a few silver sequins to finish off the card.
This was a fun card to create!
Thanks
again for taking the time to stop by and visit- hugs and I hope I have inspired
you with this Clean and Simple card!
Julie, I love your trail of hearts in some rather untraditional colors. Those papers are beautiful, thanks for joining us at The Paper Players this week! Crystal, DT
ReplyDeleteJulie what a great CAS card to showcase those beautiful papers. The purple and yellow is an unusual combination yet works really well. Thanks for playing along with my sketch challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Julie! I love the rich shades of purple and mix of patterns. Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Paper Players!
