Woohoo!
The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light ODBDSLC286 “Just Say Thanks”Challenge starts today and this is a perfect challenge to showcase the May 2017Our Daily Bread Designs Release.
I just love this new release- the perfect combination of stamps and dies to show appreciation for that special teacher(s) in your life.
I
decided to create a card using the new stamp set, Seeds of Knowledge with several custom
dies and the Birthday Brights Paper Collection.
I also incorporated the Splitcoaststampers SC630 Sketch Challenge (02/02/17) into the design and am linking to the Word Art Wednesday #280-#281 "Anything Goes" Challenge.
We
hope you will take the time to check out the rest of my ODBD Design Team
Sisters’ blogs and see their gorgeous projects:
Don’t forget- you have until June 4, 2017 to join us for a chance to be spotlighted for the Shining the Light award or to win a $15 ODBD gift certificate (one random participant will be chosen).
To
create this card:
1).
Ink the Seeds of Knowledge sentiment with embossing ink onto black cardstock
and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
Trim the panel and set aside.
2).
Die cut and emboss pieces of silver foil with the Clipboard Set Dies for the
ruler, scissors, clip, magnifying glass.
Die cut and emboss a piece of Birthday Brights paper with the Clipboard Set Dies (for the clipboard).
4).
Mount the sentiment onto the clipboard die cut, add the clip (I used a piece of
foam under the clip to raise it up a bit) and adhere to the card front. Add the paper clip die cut to the side.
5).
Cut a rectangle piece of Birthday Brights paper for the vertical panel on the
side, add the silver foil clip and A+ die cut (die cut using the A+ Apples Dies from black cardstock).
6).
Stamp the apple from Seeds of Knowledge with archival black ink, color with watercolor
pencils, die cut and emboss using the Teacher’s Apples Dies, Use an extra fine white paint pen to add the highlight and once dry, mount onto
the card front with dimensional foam.
7).
Stamp the “Thank You” sentiment from the Seeds of Knowledge stamp set with archival black ink onto white cardstock,
die cut with Circles Dies, and adhere behind the magnifying glass die cut. Add crystal glaze in the center to mimic
glass but allow it to thoroughly dry before mounting onto the card front (Note to Self- remember to let it dry! I touched mine too soon and smudged it a bit but added more glaze to try to fix it :-)).
8).
Die cut and emboss a piece of Birthday Brights paper using the Small Bow Dies, assemble the bow and add to the magnifying glass.
9).
Add a few silver sequins around the sentiment to finish off the card.
Thanks
again for taking the time to stop by! I hope I have inspired you to create a "thank you" card and we
would love for you to join us for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light
ODBDSLC286 “Just Say Thanks” Challenge!
Hugs
and I hope you have a wonderful week, sweet friends!
So cute Julie! I love your apple cards, each one and your apple looks good enough to eat!
ReplyDeleteLovely teacher thank you!
How beautiful, Julie!! Love the use of the magnifying lense, the touches of silver, and the apple that is colored good enough to eat. So realistic! Great colors and design!!
ReplyDeletehugs,

Oh, Julie, what a beautiful set of cards. I agree with all Robin and Chris said, and it's amazing how realistic the dies are with the metallic card stock. And what a really precious Scripture verse on the clipboard. Stunning! Hugs and love! xoxo
