SC674 Yuletide Deer

Hi Friends!

It’s Wednesday and time again for the weekly sketch at Splitcoaststampers! Cathy designed our SC674 sketch this week and I think this sketch would be perfect for so many different occasions!

I am still working on Christmas cards so decided to use the STAMPlorations™ Yuletide Deer Stamp Set for a quick Clean and Graphic design.

I am also participating with the Inspired By All The Little Things #75 Challenge (I was inspired by the colors) and the STAMPlorations "Never-Ending Anything Goes" Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Splitcoaststampers’ Sketch gallery or the other challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- fabulous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

1). Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 ⅛” x 5 ¼”, mount onto dark gray cardstock and adhere the entire panel to a white card base.

2). Emboss a piece of white cardstock with a snowflake embossing folder, trim and mount onto dark gray cardstock for the vertical element.  Trim and mount a piece of designer paper onto dark gray cardstock, add both to the card front (use dimensional foam for the far right hand side of the patterned panel). Note- I accidentally flipped the position of the vertical panels- oops! Better have the photo of the sketch in front of me next time- my memory is not what it used to be- lol!!

3). De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the deer image from Yuletide Deer with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply silver embossing powder and heat with the heat tool. Color with watercolor pencils using a water brush to blend, and once dry, apply shimmer with a clear glitter pen.

4). Once the embossing powder has cooled, die cut with a stitched oval die.  Mount onto another oval die cut from dark gray cardstock, add the oval to the card front using dimensional foam, on the right hand side to compensate for the layers.

5). Stamp the sentiment from Yuletide Deer with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink onto a piece of scrap white cardstock, apply silver embossing powder and heat with the heat tool. Trim and create the fishtail banner, mount onto dark gray cardstock and add to the card front.

6). Finish off the card with a few rhinestones in the corners.
