Today
I am sharing another card using the new December Stamp of the Month, Wood
Backgrounds stamp set from the December release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps along with the previously
released stamp sets, Texture
Tiles 4, Christmas
Silhouettes and Christmas
Pine.
Also,
don’t forget, the December Stamp of the Month, Wood
Backgrounds is free
with your net purchase of $75 (US) for the month of December! Plus any order
over $75 (US) receives free shipping and handling!
I used
the Just Add Ink #436 Sketch Challenge for the layout and am also participating
with the Simon Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge, the Simon Says Work It Wednesday“Ho-Ho Holiday” Challenge, the Alphabet “R is for Reindeer” Challenge and
the Time Out #123 “Black & White + 1 Colour” Challenge.
If
you have not had a chance to visit the above challenge sites or the SNSS Blog/FB Page yet, I encourage
you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!
To
create this card:
1).
De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the reindeer
image from Christmas
Silhouettes with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear embossing
powder and heat set with a heat tool. Once
the embossing has cooled, fussy-cut the image (FYI- I used my new Brother Scan ‘n
Cut- love this machine!).
2). Repeat the same process on another piece of
white cardstock as in step 1 using the large image from Wood
Backgrounds. Once
the embossing has cooled, use distress inks to watercolor the image and fussy-cut
around the edge.
3).
Create the buffalo plaid background panel with the image from Texture
Tiles 4 using black soot ink onto white cardstock, die cut the panel with a
stitched strip die and mount onto black cardstock, trimming close to the edge. Use a bit larger stitched strip die to die
cut a piece of designer paper for the second vertical panel, mount onto black
cardstock and trim close to the edge.
4).
Trim another piece of white cardstock to approx.. 4” x 5 ¼”, emboss with an embossing
folder, mount onto a piece of black cardstock and trim close to the edge. Mount the entire panel onto a white card base. Add the two vertical panels with dimensional
foam and mount the Wood
Backgrounds image onto the top of the panels with
dimensional foam as well.
5).
Loop silver cord onto the wood panel and add the fussy-cut reindeer image using
dimensional foam.
