I apologize for the
delay on posting my card, for some reason my internal calendar is “off” and I
thought the challenge was next week, lol!
This verse has been very comforting to me since the last few weeks have been very hectic in our household. I am so thankful that "God is my refuge and strength, an ever present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear." Psalm 46:1-2.
In addition to multiple doctor appointments/chemo for my hubby, my sweet kitty, Angel had major surgery to remove a large tumor from her side. I stayed up with her all night for several nights in a row (hubby took the day shift :-)) to make sure she does not try to clean the surgical area. Angel is doing very well and will have the staples removed tomorrow (plus I can then remove her little T-shirt- I know she will be thrilled)! She is my constant companion and we are praying that they were able to excise all of the tumor and it has not spread....

Well, enough excuses :-) I absolutely love our inspiration photo for our he Card Concept #111 {ScatteredSeashells} Challenge and was inspired (of course)by the shells and the aqua
background to create a Clean and Simple Mixed Media card.
I am also linking
this card to The Paper Players PP433 “CAS One Layer Wonder” Challenge, the CASOLOGY#336 “Ocean” Challenge and the Simon Monday “Miniature/Tiny Things” Challenge.
If you have not had a
chance to visit us at The Card Concept or the other challenge sites yet, I
hope you will find time to do so- fabulous inspiration from all!
To
create this card:
1).
De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool. Using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, stamp the small
shell in the foreground, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with the
heat tool.
2).
Stamp the same shell image onto a piece of scrap paper, fussy-cut and place the
mask over the stamped image. Ink and
stamp the next shell image using the same steps as above, create a mask and
continue until the entire set of shells are stamped and embossed.
3).
Use watercolor pencils along with water-based markers to color the images.
4).
Ink the sentiment from Fear Not (Stamp Simply) using Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink,
stamp unto the upper right area, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with
the heat tool.
5).
Trim the panel and mount onto a piece of scrap chipboard before mounting onto
the Soft Suede base panel.
6). Draw the shoreline and a few stipple dots
with a black Sharpie® and use a clear glitter pen to add shimmer to the shells
and sand.
