Hi Friends!!
I hope all of you are
having a fabulous week so far! This morning I am sharing a card that I designed
using a few retired stamps as well as retired designer papers (I love being able to use up
some of my stash).
As I shared in previous posts, I am working on
trying to create a card for each of the Splitcoaststampers (SCS)
Sketch Challenges (there is no deadline for the SCS Challenges) and
used the SC220 Sketch for the layout on this card.
This sketch allowed me to use two different
patterned papers for the background panel and qualifies for the Simon Says Wednesday “Two or More Patterned Papers” Challenge.
I am also linking to
the Creative with Stamps #47 “Red” Challenge, the Simon Says Monday “Frame It” Challenge and a new to me challenge site, Sweet Stampers Challenge #41 “Hearts and/or Flowers” Challenge.
This Mixed Media card
was fairly simple to create:
1). On a piece of white
cardstock, stamp the larger floral image with Versafine™ Onyx Black Ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with
a heat tool.
2). Create a mask by stamping
the floral image onto a piece of scrap paper, fussy-cut the image and mask the
original flower before stamping and repeating these steps for the next two
flowers. Once the heat
embossing has cooled, use water-based markers to watercolor the flowers.
3). Die cut the flower
panel with a stitched rectangle die and watercolor the background with Tumbled
Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink. Heat set the background ink before heat embossing the sentiment using the
same embossing steps as above.
4). Mount the panel onto
black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto white cardstock, trim again
and mount finally onto black cardstock to create the frame.
5). For the background,
die cut the strips of designer paper using horizontal stitched strip dies,
mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto white cardstock
and die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.
6). Mount the background
panel onto a piece of black cardstock (die cut with another stitched rectangle
die) and mount the background panel onto a white card base. Add the framed floral
panel with dimensional foam (or chipboard).
7). Use a clear glitter
pen to add shimmer to the petals and add a few Nuvo™ Morning Dew Jewel Drops to
finish off the card.

Thanks again for
taking the time to stop by- I will be sharing a few more cards in the next few weeks
(I have over 50 finished cards to post to my blog). Stamping is my “therapy” and I love creating, but it seems to take me so
much time to photograph/edit the cards, create the blog posts, etc.- lol!! Hugs and I hope you will have a chance to visit again
soon!
Such a pretty card. Love that touch of aqua with all the red. One of the best color combos, right?
ReplyDeleteYour card is wonderful.
