Hi Friends!
I absolutely love all things patriotic and even have Americana décor in
our home, so I decided to pull out the Old Glory Bundle, America 6x6 paper (Echo Park) and other supplies from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store to create a layered patriotic
card for the Stamp
Simply blog post today.
As many of you already know, I enjoy participating with online challenges and used the Splitcoaststampers SC830 Sketch for the layout of this card (another sketch done for my goal of doing them all, lol!).
I also incorporated the Watercooler Wednesday #314 “Dawn’s All AboutOccasions” Challenge as well as the Make My Monday #146 “Checks or Plaid” Challenge (I used checks, but some may call them plaid) and the Word Art Wednesday#487-#488 “Anything Goes: Challenge into the design.
If you have not had time to check out the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I hope you will do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!
To
create this card:
Emboss
a piece of navy cardstock with the Darice Wire Fence embossing folder, trim and adhere
to a white card front.
Layer
the pieces of checked pieces of America designer paper onto navy cardstock,
trim, and mount onto the right-hand end of the card front (per the sketch).
Die cut a large circle from white cardstock and emboss with the Wire Fence embossingfolder. Adhere to the card front (lining up with the embossing on the navy background).
De-static
a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the map image
from the Old Glory stamp set with black pigment ink, apply clear embossing
powder and heat set with a heat tool.
Once
the embossing has cooled, color with water-based markers and die cut with the
coordinating die from Patriotic Stars and Stripes.
Mount
onto the card front with dimensional foam (or chipboard).
Prepare
another piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiment
from Old Glory with pigment black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat
set with a heat tool.
Color
the “Nation” part of the sentiment with a red water-based marker and die cut
the sentiment with the Fishtail Sentiments Banner dies.
Adhere
the sentiment to the card front using dimensional foam (or chipboard).
Die
cut the layered stars from navy, red and white cardstock, and mount directly to
the card front.
Add
silver rhinestones to the center of the stars and a few around the sentiment
and embossed circle.
Mount
the entire panel to a white card base and add a patriotic twine bow to finish
off the card.
