Hi Friends!
Today I am sharing a card using the new Graphic 45
Elegance 8x8 paper pad along with the Thinking
of You Rose stamp set , dies and other supplies (from Stamp Simply )!
I love the Elegance paper by Graphic 45, don’t you? This paper with the dark background, the Eiffel Tower/Paris images, the sewing theme as well as the pretty pink roses is perfect for my future sewing room décor.
I was able to incorporate the Splitcoaststampers SC162 Sketch Challenge
into the layout and am also linking to the Word Art Wednesday #493-#494“Anything Goes” Challenge.
If you have not had a chance to visit the Stamp Simply blog or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- wonderful
inspiration from all!
To create this card:
For the background panel, trim a piece of Luxury Pearlescent Quartz White Metallic 105# Cardstock to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”,
mount onto a piece of black cardstock, trim close to the edge, mount onto a piece
of light pink cardstock, trim close to the edge and adhere to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece
of black cardstock.
Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.
Trim a piece of the Graphic 45 Elegance
designer paper for the vertical background panel (approx. 3 ½” x 2 ¾”), mount
onto black cardstock and trim close to the edge.
Trim another piece of Elegance
designer paper to approx. 1 ½” x 5”, mount onto black cardstock and trim close
the edge. Mount onto the card front and
add the panel created in the above step with dimensional foam (or chipboard)
per the sketch.
Trim the cut-apart from the Elegance
designer paper and de-static the right-hand side of the panel with an embossing
powder tool, stamp the verse sentiment from the Thinking
of You Rose stamp set with Versafine™
Onyx Black ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.
Layer the embossed cut-apart onto black cardstock, trim close to the
edge and mount onto the card front with dimensional foam (or chipboard).
To create the rolled roses- die cut several ovals from light pink
cardstock using the frames only from the Hemstitch
Oval Dies.
Using scissors, cut a wavy line from the outside edge along the oval shape
toward the inside (creating a spiral- see the steps 2 thru 8 in this Rolled
Flowers tutorial from Splitcoaststampers).
Use a crimper tool to crimp the wavy spiral cut ovals before rolling
them up into the rose shape.
Die cut several stems from green cardstock using the Two Sprigs dies, cut into smaller
leaves and add to the card front before adhering the rolled roses (I used hot
glue for this step).
Add shimmer to the flower petals with a clear glitter pen and finish off
the card with pearls.

ReplyDeleteJulie, this card is stunning! I love the Graphic 45 designer paper and the beautiful roses (so clever, and I need to try those again), but I always love Scripture on a card! You are amazing, my sweet friend, and I thank God for you. Hugs and love and continuing to pray for you! xoxo
