TCC163 Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Friends!

Welcome to The Card Concept #163 Beautiful Bounty Challenge

For those of you who are not familiar with The Card Concept Challenge, we are a bi-weekly challenge that uses an inspiration photo for you to create a card.

What a gorgeous farmhouse style tablescape!  I was inspired by the colors, the pumpkins and the overall theme for my one layer fairly simple Mixed Media card!

The main stamped image of the Wheelbarrow stamp from Impression Obsession is one that I have owned for several years and since I am trying to use stamps I already have in my "stash", I thought this image would be perfect for our challenge.

We hope you can join us for our challenge.  We are flexible- you can choose any design style or a combination of styles, the choice is yours! Plus, our Design Team of eleven talented ladies create a card to help give you even more inspiration!

As I have mentioned in the past. I enjoy participating with other online challenges and will be linking to one of my favs, Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #170 “Fallin’ For Autumn” Challenge.  This challenge requires that you use an image at least one year old.  As I mentioned above, I have had the Wheelbarrow image for several years and I also used a Verve sentiment stamp is over 5 years old as well.

In addition to the Retro Rubber Challenge, I will be playing along with the Simon Monday “Any Holiday Occasion” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to visit The Card Concept, or the other challenge sites yet, I encourage you to do so- gorgeous inspiration from all!

To create this card:

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the Impressions Obsession Wheelbarrow image with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamp onto the prepared panel, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, color the image with water-based markers and watercolor pencils.

Die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die, mount onto black cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Mount onto a panel of black cardstock, trim close to the edge and mount onto a white card base.

Repeat the steps above to heat emboss the sentiment and die cut with a banner die.

Adhere sentiment to the card front to finish off the card.

Other than the coloring of the image, this card was quick and easy to create!

  1. LOVE this scene! I spent summers on a family farm so farm scenes always give me a sense of peace and joy and thankfulness - and this one is just right for that!

  2. WOW!! This is one of the prettiest farm stamps I've ever seen and you colored the image beautifully. I still see a few farms like this one on your card around where I live.
