Another Quick Set of Christmas Cards

Hi Friends!

This week we are focusing on Christmas and my Design Team sisters have created the most beautiful cards.  I hope you take a few minutes to check them out at the Stamp Simply blog!

Today I am sharing another set of quick cards using the Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper pad along with the Merry Christmas Stamp and Die Bundle,  Wonder of Christmas Sentiments stamp set, and a pearl.

With this paper pad, a stamp set or two, and die set, you can create over 40 cards very easily!  FYI- I have two additional quick cards in my last post here.

As many of you who follow my blog know, I enjoy playing along with online challenges,  so I will be linking this card to the A Place to Start November 2023 “Anything Goes” Challenge.

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, or the A Place To Start Challenge site, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create both of these cards:

Trim two pieces of the Studio Light Sending Joy 6x6 paper to 4”x 5 ¼” and distress the edges with a distressing tool.

De-static the panels with an embossing powder tool, ink the sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black, stamp directly onto the designer paper, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Distress the edges of the designer paper and adhere the panels to black cardstock (4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜”), trimming close to the edges.

For the star card, de-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, ink the star image from the Merry Christmas stamp set with Versamark ink onto white cardstock, stamp onto the prepared cardstock, apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the star  with the coordinating star die. Also die cut another star from plain white cardstock to layer behind the embossed image.

Mount onto the star onto the card front with dimensional foam.

Add a pearl to the star center and adhere the entire panel to a white card base to finish off the card.

The second card is even easier!  After embossing the sentiment onto the panel and mounting onto black cardstock, adhere to a piece of cherry cardstock and mount onto a white card base.

Both cards are nice and flat for mailing as well!

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing a card in honor of Veterans Day.

I love the patriotic sets from Stamp Simply and feel that we can never thank our veterans enough for the sacrifices that they and their families have made in service to our country.

My card features The Red, White and Blue Bundle along with the Patriotic Sentiments stamp set, the 3D Brick Embossing Folder and Navy Seam Binding (all from Stamp Simply).

If you have not had a chance to check out my Sister DT cards yet, I hope you will do so- wonderful inspiration from all!

To create this card:

Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4” x 5 ¼” and emboss with the Sizzix 3D Brick Embossing Folder (I inked the interior of the folder with Antique Linen Distress Ink prior to embossing).

Trim the embossed panel to approx. 3 ¾” x 5”, distressing the edges slightly.

Mount onto a piece of red cardstock, distress the edges and mount onto the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” navy panel.

Add the navy seam binding strip, wrapping the ends behind the panel. Adhere the double navy seam binding bow.

Mount the panel onto a white card front.

Ink the sentiments from The Red, White, and Blue stamp set and Patriotic Sentiments stamp set with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto prepared white cardstock, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Die cut the sentiments using Fishtail Sentiment Banners Dies (also die cutting banners from red and navy cardstock).

Distress the sentiment panels with a stencil brush and Antique Linen Distress ink.

Layer the red and navy banners behind the sentiments and mount onto the card front using dimensional foam.

Ink the flag image from The Red, White and Blue with Versafine Black Onyx ink, stamp onto white cardstock and heat set the ink with a heat tool.

Watercolor the image with watercolor pencils and water-based markers.

TCC201 Give Thanks to the Lord

Hi Friends!

Welcome to our new #201 {Fall Leaves} Challenge at the The Card Concept!

Look at all those gorgeous fall leaves!  In the Mid-Atlantic, fall is so colorful!  I absolutely love the magnificent display of God’s handiwork :-)

At The Card Concept, we are looking forward to seeing what inspires your card.  Will it be the overall theme, the colors, leaves, textures or something else?

I was inspired by the leaves as well as the colors and textures for my Clean and Layered Mixed Media card.

Many of you who follow my blog know that one of my goals is to ink up some of my retired stamp sets along with using retired ribbons, etc.  I am so thankful that this card allowed me to do so!

If you have not already visited us at The Card Concept, I hope you will find the time to do so.  Absolutely gorgeous inspiration from the rest of my DT sisters!  We hope that you will have the time to create a card and join us!

This was a fun card to create:

On a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of white cardstock, use a blending brush to apply distress inks to create the background color (I used Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple and Picked Raspberry for this first step).

Lightly heat set the ink to dry the panel and de-static the panel with an embossing powder tool.

Ink the leaves from the retired Stampin’ Up! French Foliage stamp set with Versamark ink.  Stamp repeatedly onto the panel (masking some of the images as needed).

Apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing powder has cooled, apply additional distress ink to make the images “pop” (I used Ground Espresso, Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves, and Candied Apple),

Use a water-based marker to create more shadows under the leaves and once satisfied, ink the script and postage mark stamps from French Foliage with Versafine Onxy Black and stamp repeatedly in the background.

Carefully wipe off the black ink from the embossed leaves, and since I was dissatisfied with the black in the background (it was too dark to see), apply white embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Trim the panel to approx. 3 ¾” x 5” and mount onto a piece of orange cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of blackberry cardstock.

Wrap a piece of pumpkin chevron ribbon over the panel (wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Add a piece of stitched blackberry satin ribbon (again, wrapping the ends behind the panel).

Mount the entire panel onto a white card base.

De-static a piece of white cardstock with an embossing powder tool, stamp the verse sentiment from the Scripture Medley 3 (retired Verve Stamps) with Versafine Black Onyx ink, apply clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Once the embossing has cooled, die cut the sentiment with a stitched  die, mount onto a piece of orange cardstock, trim and mount onto a piece of blackberry cardstock.

Adhere the sentiment to the card front with dimensional foam to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: French Foliage (retired Stampin’ Up!), Scripture Medley 3 (retired Verve Stamps)

Inks/Mediums: Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark; Distress Inks- Candied Apple, Fozzilized Anber, Ripe Persimmon, Ground Espresso, Seedless Preserves; Stampin’ Write Blackberry Bliss Marker

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Blackberry Bliss

Accessories/Tools: Gemini, Jr., MFT Stitched Rectangle STAX A2 Set 1, Embossing Powder Tool, Clear and White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon, 3/8” Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon
