Chriistmas in July- Three Challenges in One!

Hi Stampers!

I love the sketches at Create with Connie and Mary and this week’s CCMC157 Sketch Challenge is no exception.   As usual, the Design Team have created such a wide variety of cards with this sketch- the ideas are wonderful!

I had committed to make ten cards a month through November with the CCC11 Splitcoast Stamper’s Christmas Card Challenge and since this is the April submission, I have been behind on my commitment:-)

This week's Paper Player PP54 Christmas in July Challenge is just what I needed to start my cards again! :-)

Hopefully this Clean and Simple (CAS) card would be easy to reproduce in quantity and  will be the first of several more designs to get me back on track!

To create this card:

Use the Big Shot to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Northern Flurry EF and cut a strip of snowflakes using the Northern Frost Decorative Strip Die. Lightly sponge the snowflakes with Island Indigo (a fabulous new In-Color for 2011-12) and apply 2-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds.

Punch the edge of the Island Indigo strip with the Eyelet Border Punch and attach a piece of 5/8” Old Olive Satin Ribbon.  Mount onto the embossed panel and attach the snowflakes to the panel with the Old Olive Glimmer Brads (Brights Collection).

Stamp the sentiment with Island Indigo and apply the Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Stamp Sets: Christmas Greetings
Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Big Shot, Northern Flurry EF, Northern Frost Decorative Strip, Eyelet Border Punch, Rhinestones, 5/8” Old Olive Satin Ribbon, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds , Bright Glimmer Brads

Thanks for stopping by today- I hope all of you have a great time creating this week!

love that you incorporated Island Indigo, it's wonderful to see it use in something other than summer creations. Those glimmer brads were the perfect addition to your snowflakes, too!

  13. SO pretty, Julie! I just love Island Indigo on a holiday card. It doesn't sound like it should work but it does beautifully. The sponging and the glimmer brads are such great accents, too. Thanks for playing with the Paper Players again this week! Hugs! :)

  14. Hi, Julie - A beautiful Christmas card. (Someday I've got to start thinking about my design this year. Historically this happens sometime around Thanksgiving and I vow to do it earlier.)
