Hi Stampers!
Time sure flies by and my nephew will be 14 in a few
days! We will be celebrating his birthday this
weekend and I wanted to share the card I created for him using the CQC224 ColourQ Challenge along with the Seize the Sketch STS#11 Sketch and the Seize the Birthday 2014 #2 Challenge option “Coloring”.
Again, I hope that you have had a chance to
check out all three sites- wonderful examples from all!
To create this card (I chose to use MDS but you could stamp the images versus print):
In My Digital Studio (MDS), open a blank 8.5 x 11 custom page and
insert the truck and sentiment images to be printed- the truck is from Countryside and the sentiment is from Hugs and Wishes. Arrange the images on the blank page leaving
room for cutting out by hand, etc. ( I generally fill the page with additional images before I print on my
printer).
Print out onto Whisper White cardstock and color the truck
image using Stampin’ Write markers in Pool Party and adding shadows with the
AquaPainter™ and Island Indigo Classic Ink. Color the apples using the retired Poppy
Parade Stampin’ Write marker, the shadows under the truck using the Basic Gray
Stampin’ Write marker. Add a few shadows
using the Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Deco Labels Framelits™ to cut out
the truck image along with another label the same size from retired Poppy
Parade cardstock. Using your trimmer, cut the truck image and the Poppy Parade cardstock Deco label in
half and adhere the truck image onto the top half of the Poppy Parade label (trim off the
points of the Poppy Parade label before adhering the focal image). Add the lower half of the Poppy Parade Deco
Label and use the retired Color Spritzer Tool to add
distressing with the Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Chevron Textured Impressions™
Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Pool Party cardstock, the Square Lattice
Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Island Indigo cardstock
and the Herringbone Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder to emboss a scrap
piece of Basic Gray cardstock.
Trim the Basic Gray embossed layer and add the banner points
using the Hexagon Punch. Adhere the
trimmed strip of I Am Designer Series Paper (DSP)- also using the Hexagon Punch
to create the banner and add the entire layered banner onto the card, covering
the seam of the Deco Label and Island Indigo.
Use the Big Shot™ with the Typeset Alphabet Bigz™ Die to cut
out the one and four from Poppy Parade cardstock.
Add the sentiment and numbers using Stampin’ Dimensionals™ to
finish off the card.
Stamp Sets: Countryside,
Hugs and Wishes- all MDS versions
Ink: Printer Ink- Black, Stampin’ Write markers- Basic Gray,
Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, retired Poppy Parade
Accessories: Big Shot™,
Deco Labels Framelits™, Typeset Alphabets Bigz™ Die, Chevron, Herringbone,
Square Lattice Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders, XL Oval Punch, retired
Color Spritzer Tool
