Hi
Friends!
This
Mixed Media card was designed using the current Scripture Collection 3 stamp
set from Our Daily Bread Designs along with the retired Blooming with Kindness
stamp set from Stampin’ Up!
I
wanted to incorporate The Flower Challenge #11 August Challenge “Focus on Background Stamping”, the Try It On Tuesday “In the Garden” Challenge, the TimeOut #90 “Autumn” Challenge (I did not do the optional twist of speed stamping this time), the Simon Says July Work It Wednesday “Glitter,Shine and Sequins” Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers CC648 Color Challenge.
If
you have not had a chance to check out the above challenges yet, I hope you
will find the time to do so- as always, gorgeous inspiration from all!
1).
On a craft mat, press the Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight Classic Ink, lightly
spritz with water, lay a piece of vanilla cardstock into the ink, lift up and
press again. Dry with a heat tool and
repeat the process again with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink. FYI- I used a piece of
cream colored cardstock that I had received free from my previous employer- it has a
bit of a coating and I am not sure of the manufacturer (it was an overstock
from a print job). It has a heavy weight
and handles moisture fairly well.
2).
Once the panel is thoroughly dry, de-static with the Embossing Buddy®, ink the
retired Blooming with Kindness image using Fresh Fig Classic Ink, stamp onto
the panel, apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool. Repeat the steps to stamp the flower along
the edge of the panel.
3).
Once the embossing has cooled, color over the flowers with a Faber-Castell® Banana
Gelatos™, use a water brush to dilute the color and allow the color to dry.
4).
Use a water brush to apply additional Wild Wasabi Classic Ink around the images
and splatter a bit of Wild Wasabi ink over the panel as well.
5).
Press a Faber-Castell® Metallic Grape Gelatos™ onto the craft mat, dilute with
a water brush and water color some of the petals.
6).
Once all of the floral images are dry, stamp the sentiment from Scripture Collection
3 (Our Daily Bread Designs) with Fresh Fig Classic Ink and heat emboss with
Clear Embossing Powder.
7).
Trim the panel, mount onto a piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock, trim and mount onto
a piece of Fresh Fig cardstock, trim and mount onto the Daffodil Delight card
base.
8).
Use a Spectrum Noir™ Clear Glitter Pen over the floral images and add a few
sequins to finish off the card.
